Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this strawberry mango smoothie was created by my very first Simple Green Smoothies team member, Dan Mottayaw. That was 8 years ago, and now he’s got a toddler who gulps this smoothie down! It warms my heart to see kids growing up on leafy greens + fruit, like this delicious strawberry mango smoothie recipe.

Powerhouse Smoothie Ingredient

Did you know that strawberries actually have more vitamin C than oranges? It’s true! These sweet berries shine in this strawberry mango smoothie recipe, both in flavor and in nutrients. They can be used in any berry recipe as a substitute.

Strawberries are also low in sugar + high in fiber, which makes them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush, as well as keep your levels more stable. They are naturally sweet, so they are a great sweet treat in a smoothie, or straight off the stem.

The Best Tropical Fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mango. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them – blended in this strawberry mango smoothie as well as freshly peeled.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. It’s juicy + sweet and chock full of vitamin A and fiber. Make sure and stand over the sink while eating a fresh one, because you’ll have juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie to instantly get an island vibe going.

I usually buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s cheaper than my local grocery store.

I enjoyed this one! Both of my strawberries and mangos were frozen so it was extra cold which I love! Loved the flavor and the name of the smoothie ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Pink Flamingo was awesome. The cherries gave it a great taste. I added chia seeds to give it a little boost! Delicious!

Late post for my day 2 smoothie. I loved that this smoothie wasn’t super sweet! Thawing my fruit helped so my Vitamix was better able to blend. The colour wasn’t the most appealing, mixing berries with spinach doesn’t always turn out great colour wise though it tasted great to me.

Winner…tasted just like the title said. So far this one is at the top!

I swapped the almond milk or coconut just because that’s what I had on hand and used mixed berries for the same reason.

While mangos are great I prefer pineapple and subbed a mix for mine. The flavor is great although my strawberries werenโ€™t quite in season. LOL!

Very tasty, I used both frozen strawberries and frozen mango and it was a bit difficult to get my Vitamix started. Should I be partially thawing some of the fruit?

    1. Bev, thawing your frozen fruit a little will help with the blending. If you prep your smoothies, you could move your prepped container from the freezer to the refrigerator the night before or if you make them day of, you could add your frozen fruit to the blender and let it sit and defrost for 10-15 minutes before you blend.

Day 2 smoothie – this one was okay but not as good as day one. We had cashew milk on hand so it made it extra creamy, but I would probably use water/coconut water instead of milk next time.

I tough it would be โ€œpinkierโ€. Very light taste. Would be much tastier with soya โ€œmilkโ€ but loosing the mango and strawberry taste. Very good.

I thought I would love this one, but found myself not really caring for the taste. It also came out much too thick, and I had to greatly adjust the liquid in it. This may have been my fault — all the fruit I used was frozen. I may try fresh mango if I try this one again in the future.

Loved every sip, delicious with strawberries and mango. I had a bit of kale and some spinach. Delicious!
