Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this strawberry mango smoothie is a healthier take on the classic combo thanks to a handful of spinach and no yogurt (which you’ll find in a lot of other recipes out there). It was originally created by my very first Simple Green Smoothies team member, Dan Mottayaw, about 8 years ago. Now, he’s got a toddler who gulps this smoothie down! It warms my heart to see kids growing up on leafy greens + fruit, like this delicious strawberry mango smoothie recipe.

Why This Recipe Rawks
- Strawberries are amazing: Did you know that strawberries actually have more vitamin C than oranges? It’s true! These sweet berries shine in this mango fruit smoothie recipe, both in flavor and in nutrients. They can be used in any berry recipe as a substitute.
- Health Benefits of Strawberries: Strawberries are also low in sugar + high in fiber, which makes them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush, as well as keep your levels more stable. They are naturally sweet, so they are a great sweet treat in a smoothie, or straight off the stem.
- Mango is the best tropical fruit: Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mango. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them – blended in this strawberry mango smoothie as well as freshly peeled.
- Health benefits of mangos: A mango is like the tropical version of a peach. It’s juicy + sweet and chock full of vitamin A and fiber. Make sure and stand over the sink while eating a fresh one, because you’ll have juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie to instantly get an island vibe going.

Ingredients You’ll Need
Here are my easy strawberry mango smoothie ingredients:
- Fresh spinach: Mild and nutrient-packed; look for bright green leaves at your local grocery store or farmers’ market.
- Unsweetened almond milk: Light and creamy with a subtle nutty flavor; opt for homemade almond milk to keep the ingredients minimal. Not gonna do it— I get it. Check out my guide on the best almond milk brands to buy. There are some great ones you can buy!
- Frozen strawberries: Sweet and slightly tart; buy pre-frozen for convenience or freeze fresh berries for peak flavor.
- Frozen mango: This fruit is naturally sweet and tropical. I usually buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s cheaper than my local grocery store.

How to Make a Strawberry Mango Smoothie
This strawberry mango smoothie is bursting with flavor and nutrients—and it’s so easy to make! Just follow these three simple steps:
- Blend fresh spinach with unsweetened almond milk until completely smooth. This ensures a silky texture without leafy bits.
- Add the frozen strawberries and mango, then blend again until creamy and well combined.
- Enjoy immediately for a refreshing and nutrient-packed smoothie!
Easy Swaps and Add-Ins
This recipe is fantastic as is, but here are some easy ways to mix it up and make it your own!
- Add protein powder: Give your strawberry mango smoothie a boost of protein with my homemade protein powder recipe made with flax, hemp, and chia seeds.
- Swap spinach: Use your favorite leafy greens instead of spinach. Some of my favorite options to use are kale or chard.
- Swap almond milk: Substitute almond milk with a dairy-free milk of your choosing.

Common Questions
While bananas and pineapple are among the tropical fruits that pair well with mango and strawberry, the combination of mango and strawberry is truly superior. Mango’s natural sweetness and creamy texture create a thick, luscious smoothie, while strawberries add a refreshing, slightly tart contrast. Together, they make a perfectly balanced, flavorful blend—pure smoothie bliss!
Mango pairs well with many fruits, creating a balanced and flavorful blend. Strawberries add a refreshing tartness, while pineapple enhances its tropical sweetness. Bananas provide creaminess, peaches add a juicy mellow flavor, and oranges bring a citrusy kick. Coconut is another great pairing, complementing mango’s tropical notes. Whether you want sweet, creamy, or refreshing, mango is a versatile fruit that blends beautifully.
A strawberry mango smoothie made with 1 cup fresh spinach, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 cup frozen strawberries, and ½ cup frozen mango contains approximately 137 calories per serving. This smoothie is naturally low in fat, with 4g of protein, 26g of carbohydrates, and 6g of fiber, making it a nutrient-dense and refreshing option. Adding a serving of homemade protein powder will slightly increase the calorie count while boosting protein content.

A little bland, but overall pretty good.
This is my new favorite. I loved this one.
Loved it, even my son who does not like most smoothies said it was great!!!
I enjoyed this one! Both of my strawberries and mangos were frozen so it was extra cold which I love! Loved the flavor and the name of the smoothie 😉
I hit the wrong star! The Pink Flamingo was a 5 on my taste scale!
The Pink Flamingo was awesome. The cherries gave it a great taste. I added chia seeds to give it a little boost! Delicious!
Thought this one was ok, a little bland.
Late post for my day 2 smoothie. I loved that this smoothie wasn’t super sweet! Thawing my fruit helped so my Vitamix was better able to blend. The colour wasn’t the most appealing, mixing berries with spinach doesn’t always turn out great colour wise though it tasted great to me.
Winner…tasted just like the title said. So far this one is at the top!
I swapped the almond milk or coconut just because that’s what I had on hand and used mixed berries for the same reason.
While mangos are great I prefer pineapple and subbed a mix for mine. The flavor is great although my strawberries weren’t quite in season. LOL!
Very tasty, I used both frozen strawberries and frozen mango and it was a bit difficult to get my Vitamix started. Should I be partially thawing some of the fruit?
Bev, thawing your frozen fruit a little will help with the blending. If you prep your smoothies, you could move your prepped container from the freezer to the refrigerator the night before or if you make them day of, you could add your frozen fruit to the blender and let it sit and defrost for 10-15 minutes before you blend.
Day 2 smoothie – this one was okay but not as good as day one. We had cashew milk on hand so it made it extra creamy, but I would probably use water/coconut water instead of milk next time.
I tough it would be “pinkier”. Very light taste. Would be much tastier with soya “milk” but loosing the mango and strawberry taste. Very good.
I thought I would love this one, but found myself not really caring for the taste. It also came out much too thick, and I had to greatly adjust the liquid in it. This may have been my fault — all the fruit I used was frozen. I may try fresh mango if I try this one again in the future.
Loved every sip, delicious with strawberries and mango. I had a bit of kale and some spinach. Delicious!
