This strawberry mango smoothie shows how small upgrades can make a big difference. A handful of spinach slips right in, boosting nutrients while letting the sweet, tropical smoothie flavors of strawberries and mango shine. It’s an easy reminder that nourishing choices don’t have to be complicated—or change the taste you love.

The best strawberry mango smoothie recipe topped with fresh mango and strawberry cubes.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Strawberries are packed with more vitamin C than oranges (yup!), plus fiber and natural sweetness. They’re low in sugar, help keep blood sugar steady, and swap easily into any berry smoothie.
  • Mango is sweet, juicy, and totally tropical. Rich in vitamin A and fiber, mango adds a creamy texture and instant island vibes to any smoothie.
  • This smoothie tastes bright, creamy, and lightly tropical. The almond milk keeps it mellow and creamy, and the spinach blends right in—no “green” taste at all.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie Ingredients

  • Fresh spinach: Mild and nutrient-packed; look for bright green leaves at your local grocery store or farmers’ market.
  • Unsweetened almond milk: Light and creamy with a subtle nutty flavor; opt for homemade almond milk to keep the ingredients minimal. Not gonna do it— I get it. Check out my guide on the best almond milk brands to buy. There are some great ones you can buy!
  • Frozen strawberries: Sweet and slightly tart; buy pre-frozen for convenience or freeze fresh berries for peak flavor.
  • Frozen mango: This fruit is naturally sweet and tropical. I usually buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s cheaper than my local grocery store. Yet if fresh is every on sale, you’ll see my in the kitchen cutting mango and freezing it.

Easy Swaps and Add-Ins

This recipe is fantastic as is, but here are some easy ways to mix it up and make it your own!

  • Add protein powder: Give your strawberry mango smoothie a boost of protein with my homemade protein powder recipe made with flax, hemp, and chia seeds.
  • Swap spinach: Use your favorite leafy green vegetables instead of spinach. Some of my favorite options to use are kale or chard.
  • Swap almond milk: Substitute almond milk with a non-dairy milk of your choosing.

Common Questions

Do strawberry and mango go together in a smoothie?

While bananas and pineapple are among the tropical fruits that pair well with mango and strawberry, the combination of mango and strawberry is truly superior. Mango’s natural sweetness and creamy texture create a thick, luscious smoothie, while strawberries add a refreshing, slightly tart contrast. Together, they make a perfectly balanced, flavorful blend—pure smoothie bliss!

What fruit blends well with mango?

Mango pairs well with many fruits, creating a balanced and flavorful blend. Strawberries add a refreshing tartness, while pineapple enhances its tropical sweetness. Bananas provide creaminess, peaches add a juicy mellow flavor, and oranges bring a citrusy kick. Coconut is another great pairing, complementing mango’s tropical notes. Whether you want sweet, creamy, or refreshing, mango is a versatile fruit that blends beautifully.

How many calories in a strawberry mango smoothie?

A strawberry mango smoothie made with 1 cup fresh spinach, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 cup frozen strawberries, and ½ cup frozen mango contains approximately 137 calories per serving. This smoothie is naturally low in fat, with 4g of protein, 26g of carbohydrates, and 6g of fiber, making it a nutrient-dense and refreshing option. Adding a serving of homemade protein powder will slightly increase the calorie count while boosting protein content.

Really nice tasting smoothie. I used coconut water instead of water. Great way to get more berries into your diet.

A little underwhelming. Neither the mango or strawberry shined through significantly. Not sweet enough for my preference. Would make again… with modifications.

Creamy, dreamy delicious! I love strawberries and mangos!! Used frozen mango from Superstore and frozen strawberries that we picked from a local farm in the summer. I didn’t have any almond milk so used water and a tablespoon of my homemade almond butter. Also added hemp protein powder and chia seeds for an extra boost. Another amazing combo!

I added a touch raw honey as I had no almond milk. I enjoyed the strawberry taste in this smoothie.

Strawberry and mango is one of my favorite fruit combos. I liked this smoothie a lot, but I missed the mango flavor; I couldn’t taste it at all. I also used unsweetened oat milk instead of almond milk, because that’s what I had. It made the smoothie extra creamy, which I really enjoyed. I’ll make again and up the amount of mango to hopefully get that delicious flavor.

    1. Oat milk is def one of my fav swaps to up that creamy factor in any smoothie. Great choice, Hope! Next time, opt for fresh mango instead of frozen if you’re able. That should bring out the mango flavors in a stronger way for ya. Happy blending!

Not the fan. I used organic strawberries, banana, and cauliflower.
I enjoy all 3 individually. But not in a smoothie. I even tried to add blueberries with the second half just didn’t enjoy

I agree with some of the “not quite sweet enough” comments. I made a doubled batch and after tasting, I boosted the flavor by adding 1 cashew/coconut frozen cube, 2 dates, and then just a little honey. It was delicious – will keep it as a regular!!
    Thanks!

    1. Love that you went for such great add-ins Bev. Way to customize! 🙂

Day 2 – really liked the flavor – filling and helped curb my coffee intake

Strawberry and mango is one of my favourite fruit combinations! This time I put in cashew milk instead of almond, plus added some beet tops for extra greens.

Hmmm? Well, it was good but for me not great … didn’t have a sweetness to it like yesterdays BEGINNERS LUCK. I used Frozen Organic Strawberries (from Albertsons) & Frozen Mangos (from WalMart). I’m wondering if the Strawberries just don’t have flavor 0r maybe pineapples from yesterdays smoothie are just sweeter in general? I am a NEWBIE with VitaMix & Smoothies so trying to figure it all out. I’ve had my VitaMix a couple of months now & have been experimenting but have found I definitely need guidance. I have read that with VitaMix I should be able to put all ingredients, at least with todays STRAWBERRY MANGO BOOST recipe, in at one time & then Mix. My VitaMix stops (motor runs but blades are not turning products. Other times I hear a pulsing motor sound? Is all this normal?

    1. Hi Dawn – Such great questions! Fruit can lose flavor if it’s been in the freezer for a super long time. Next time you could try adding additional strawberry or swap out the frozen for fresh. And you are right – Vitamix is a powerhouse that can handle anything you throw at it! The pulsing sound can be normal, yet if the blades are spinning and not moving your ingredients that’s a signal you need to add more liquid. Despite the awesomeness of Vitamix, we still recommend blending your liquid and greens first, then adding your other ingredients to finish blending.

i didnt add anything extra, just used oatmilk instead of almond milk. this tasted really good, i really liked it. the only problem was it turned a really unappetizing color. great recipe

A little less sweet, but that’s a good thing as I’m trying to cut back on sugar, nice and creamy too,

  12. 4 stars
I subbed blueberries for strawberries because I needed to use them up. The first sip was a bit off-putting (I think the frozen mango I got wasn’t ripe when it was frozen) but it got better as I drank it.

  13. 3 stars
This was my first smoothie with almond milk! It was a nice change – I ended up using unsweetened almond with coconut milk. The lower stars simply reflect the more brownish colour and enjoyed it a little less than all the other excellent recipes!

Found the strawberry flavor really lacking… probably from using frozen. Will try again with fresh strawberries sometime?

    1. Fresh strawberries would be a great idea, Lesley! Over a super long time in the freezer, fruit can lose flavor. So fresh would help get that stronger strawberry flavor you’re looking for.

  15. Don’t usually like almond milk in my smoothies but this seems to give it a creamy taste. Tasty and not too sweet.
