Also known affectionately as โPink Flamango,โ this strawberry mango smoothie is a healthier take on the classic combo thanks to a handful of spinach and no yogurt (which you’ll find in a lot of other recipes out there). It was originally created by my very first Simple Green Smoothies team member, Dan Mottayaw, about 8 years ago. Now, he’s got a toddler who gulps this smoothie down! It warms my heart to see kids growing up on leafy greens + fruit, like this delicious strawberry mango smoothie recipe.
Why This Recipe Rawks
- Strawberries are amazing: Did you know that strawberries actually have more vitamin C than oranges? Itโs true! These sweet berries shine in this mango fruit smoothie recipe, both in flavor and in nutrients. They can be used in any berry recipe as a substitute.
- Health Benefits of Strawberries: Strawberries are also low in sugar + high in fiber, which makes them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush, as well as keep your levels more stable. They are naturally sweet, so they are a great sweet treat in a smoothie, or straight off the stem.
- Mango is the best tropical fruit: Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mango. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them โ blended in this strawberry mango smoothie as well as freshly peeled.
- Health benefits of mangos: A mango is like the tropical version of a peach. Itโs juicy + sweet and chock full of vitamin A and fiber. Make sure and stand over the sink while eating a fresh one, because youโll have juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie to instantly get an island vibe going.
Ingredients Youโll Need
Here are my easy strawberry mango smoothie ingredients:
- Fresh spinach: Mild and nutrient-packed; look for bright green leaves at your local grocery store or farmersโ market.
- Unsweetened almond milk: Light and creamy with a subtle nutty flavor; opt for organic or homemade for the best strawberry mango smoothie with milk. Check out my guide on the best almond milk brands to buy.
- Frozen strawberries: Sweet and slightly tart; buy pre-frozen for convenience or freeze fresh berries for peak flavor.
- Frozen mango: This fruit is naturally sweet and tropical. I usually buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because itโs cheaper than my local grocery store.
How to Make a Strawberry Mango Smoothie
This strawberry mango smoothie is bursting with flavor and nutrientsโand itโs so easy to make! Just follow these three simple steps:
- Blend fresh spinach with unsweetened almond milk until completely smooth. This ensures a silky texture without leafy bits.
- Add the frozen strawberries and mango, then blend again until creamy and well combined.
- Enjoy immediately for a refreshing and nutrient-packed smoothie!
Easy Swaps and Add-Ins
This recipe is fantastic as is, but here are some easy ways to mix it up and make it your own!
- Add protein powder: Give your strawberry mango smoothie a boost of protein with my homemade protein powder recipe made with flax, hemp, and chia seeds.
- Swap spinach: Use your favorite leafy greens instead of spinach. Some of my favorite options to use are kale or chard.
- Swap almond milk: Substitute almond milk with a dairy-free milk of your choosing.

Common Questions
While bananas and pineapple are among the tropical fruits that pair well with mango and strawberry, the combination of mango and strawberry is truly superior. Mangoโs natural sweetness and creamy texture create a thick, luscious smoothie, while strawberries add a refreshing, slightly tart contrast. Together, they make a perfectly balanced, flavorful blendโpure smoothie bliss!
Mango pairs well with many fruits, creating a balanced and flavorful blend. Strawberries add a refreshing tartness, while pineapple enhances its tropical sweetness. Bananas provide creaminess, peaches add a juicy mellow flavor, and oranges bring a citrusy kick. Coconut is another great pairing, complementing mangoโs tropical notes. Whether you want sweet, creamy, or refreshing, mango is a versatile fruit that blends beautifully.

I love strawberries. So I loved this smoothie.
Love this combo, I did use a coconut milk alternative (not the canned) this time and it gave it a bit of a tropical flavor.
Like the strawberries! Made late yesterday after getting home from being out of town.
Strawberry and mango have always been a combination favorite for me, so really enjoyed the smoothie recipe. I would rank this number one!
Liked this one, but not as flavorful as the others. Could be that I used fresh strawberries which arenโt the best this time of year. I could see this being great in the summer time.
This is my usual smoothie and love it!
This is one of my favorites! Itโs so simple to make and delicious!
Love strawberries! you can definitely taste them in this smoothie. Green colour not so vibrant as I expected because of the red frozen strawberries, but flavour very yummy ๐
I love the fruit combinations. This is one of my favorite smoothies.
Loved this smoothie! Will make over and over again!
Love the hint of strawberries in this.
I enjoyed the taste. It was a bit thicker than most so I added a little more almond milk. Subtle hints of strawberry come through. I think it would be excellent with fresh fully ripe strawberries
What a great combination! love! This will be on my list for sure.
Great suggestion to substitute the sweetening ingredient to mangoes (as an alternative to bananas)! Definitely keeping this in mind, thank you!
This smoothie was refreshing to have after my Saturday morning run. I added a packet of Cure electrolyte to help with more hydration. Was delicious
This is my usual go to smoothies ! I’m so glad you included this one, my fav!
