How to Make Tropical Smoothie Bowl
- Pick a Base: You can use any smoothie recipe as your base, yet the key is making sure it’s thick enough. I like to use 1/2 cup liquid (either coconut water or blending a whole orange will give you this). Then I’ll add 1 cup frozen fruit. Peaches, mango, pineapple are staples in my house. You’ll need to use your blenders’ “tamper” to push the ingredients into the blade. When making a thick smoothie, it takes more work on your end (but it’s so worth it!).
- Pick your Toppings: I’m all about variety when it comes to flavors and textures. So I like to use a mixture of kiwi, mango, granola, coconut flakes and berries. Yet there’s no right or wrong way to do this— just pick whole food ingredients that you enjoy.
- Balanced Bowls: To make sure you’re getting a balanced nutrition, try to include one healthy fat + 1 kind of plant-based protein. This can be added to your base or as a topping. Seeds, avocado, plant-based protein power, coconut flakes, etc are all options.

Tropical Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 orange peeled
- 1 ½ cups strawberries frozen
- ½ cup mango frozen
- ¼ cup water if needed

Instructions

Have never made my own smoothie bowl before, so this was my first experience trying to get the perfect blend for a bowl. It took some time, but I did it! It was very strawberry’ee, as I knowingly used more strawberries than the recipe called for, but didn’t want to leave 1/4 cup of them in a freezer bag. For toppings, I had blueberries, cherries, strawberries, coconut flakes l, sliced almonds and granola. DELICIOUS!!!

The Tropical Smoothie Bowl was just what I needed, on what will become the hottest day of the year, so far. The humidity outside is horrendous.

Frozen Orange/Frozen Strawberries/Pineapple & a small amount of Water.
To the blended smoothie, I topped with toasted coconut flakes/sliced toasted almonds/sliced banana/cacao nibs/dried cranberries & I think that was all. The bowl was rather crowded & overly delicious.
Love the cool and refreshing flavors. The mango came through. I get this one all to myself as my husband had an immediate allergy reaction to probably the mango and strawberries. If he eats too much he’ll lose his voice (not a bad thing for me).
Not a favorite but good.
Think this would also be amazing as a summer frozen popsicle.

The smoothie bowel was delicious! I forgot to add protein powder to make it more filling. This was our first time trying a smoothie bowel! We thought that it was delicious. For my toppings, I used pineapple, strawberries, cherries, blueberries, and kiwi which were in the freezer. Excellent!!!
