Healthy Banana Peach Smoothie

Published on 4.5.2021 by Jen Hansard

RECIPE CARD LEAVE REVIEW
Healthy banana peach smoothie recipe

Blend this Banana Peach Smoothie during the height of peach season for the tastiest peach smoothie you'll ever savor. You can also use frozen peaches, which have been picked at their peak and frozen to lock in the nutrients.

Peaches are a true gift. There's nothing quite like finding a perfectly ripe peach, then taking it over to the kitchen sink to devour it, juice dripping down your chin, relishing every sweet bite. This is also exactly why I love blending with peaches.

When is the best season to use peaches in a smoothie?

Of course, using peaches during the height of peach season is ideal (late spring, early summer). Yet this banana peach smoothie can easily be made with frozen peaches. Slice up + freeze a bunch of peaches during harvest time, then enjoy a little bit of summer all year long.

Ingredients for a vegan green smoothie with peach and banana

Low sugar smoothie (but not when it comes to flavor)

Peaches and bananas are both low on the glycemic scale. This makes them a good choice for anyone watching their blood sugar. (Always check first with your health professional if you are a diabetic!) Both fruits also contain dietary fiber. Fiber can slow down the absorption of fruit sugar into your blood stream, then give you a more steady energy boost.

I start sounding like a commercial going on and on about fiber, but is it SO important for your health - both for heart health and staying "regular."

Gut health is important, so eat and drink up all the fiber-rich fruit and veggies in this banana peach smoothie! They're nature's scrubbing brush.

Fiber-ful recipes

Here are a few great recipes that can help boost your fiber intake:

  • Chocolate fiber smoothie cubes
  • Chia seed smoothie
  • Strawberry carrot smoothie
  • Avocado banana smoothie
  • Chocolate protein shake

A diet rich in fiber can lower the risk of Type II diabetes, heart disease, and many types of cancer. So grab one of these fiber-filled smoothies and drink to your health!

Turn your peach smoothie into a meal

Because this is a low-cal smoothie, it's not a great meal replacement on its own. Upgrade this banana peach smoothie to a quick + easy meal by adding a scoop of protein powder, chia or hemp seeds, or nut butter.

To stay full and feel satisfied for longer, check out our popular Green Smoothie Meal Replacement Guide.

For example, you can add ¼ of an avocado, use ½ cup coconut milk for some of the water, add a tablespoon of MCT oil, or your fav healthy fat.

If you don't like bananas or can't eat them, feel free to substitute avocado for the banana or use another banana replacement.

Quite often the simplest of smoothies are the best ones. This Banana Peach Smoothie is no exception. Use simple, healthy ingredients... your tastebuds and your body will thank you!

Maybe I'm making it not quite right, but I find the spinach taste a little too obvious, and not enough peach. Maybe adding more then a cup of peach?

You can totally adjust the recipe to your preferences. To avoid more natural sugar by adding more peach, try backing down the spinach a bit and adding more as you become more accustomed to it.

It's OK on its own, I used frozen fruit but think it needs more peach as it was very light flavor, added vanilla protein & chia seed. The vanilla helped hide the spinach taste

I have a slight banana allergy where I cannot eat fully ripe bananas, so I used a slightly green banana. This is what I usually do when a recipe calls for bananas, but usually the other flavors (berries) are strong enough to cover the banana flavor. The peaches were just not strong enough to cover the tasted for me. I mixed a little vanilla, and it helped. I am super stoked for this challenge to help facilitate change in my life! Thanks, Simple Green Smoothies!

So the day for us is almost over, here on this side of earth.
My young one said it was sour, the older one said "mmm this is so sweet".
I Liked it since the banana coverd the kale that I added.
So - 4 for me, I guess just because the peaches were not as strong in taste as I imagined.

I think I want to try this and the other peach recipes with fresh peaches. I like the convenience of frozen peaches but there's not a lot of flavor with them. Through this challenge I've discovered that I really like smoothies that include oranges and then I used frozen orange for the first time and while it was good, it wasn't quite as good as the ones where I used fresh orange. Thinking the frozen peaches may be the issue so since I love peaches, I'll give this one another try.

We had really, really ripe bananas and I wanted to taste the peach flavour of this smoothie, so I branched out and added avocado instead. It was so creamy and delicious! Hubby wanted the banana, so we made two and had a side by side comparison. The peach was definitely more noticeable in the avocado mix.

I I enjoyed this smoothie. I did substitute almond milk for the water to make it creamier. Overall it was simple and tasty.

I loved the Peach smoothie for today, definitely one of my favorite recipes so far! Some of the others didn't blend quite well enough for me, I may have to convince the hubby to get me a nicer blender 🙂

This was just okay for me. I didn’t taste much peach. I’ll try fresh vs frozen next time and make sure they’re really ripe for the peachy flavor I’m craving!

I think this is the first smoothie I wasn't crazy about. And I've tried a lot of different ones. I don't taste the peach at all just spinach.

Made this one today, delicious as well, although not my favorite. I do love to switch it up from the usual berries!

I was excited for peaches this week in the challenge, but this one was a bit blah. Maybe because I used romaine instead of spinach or kale? I barely tasted the peaches. :-/ Not giving up, there are so many others that are great! 🙂

I'll admit, this one tastes a little spinach-y to me. Most green smoothies are fruity enough that the only way I know it has spinach in it is because it's green. The more I drink this one the less spinach flavor I get, so it's not bad! It just took me a minute to get used to it.

Peaches are a little pricey in this region so I'm only getting started with this. Hope it tastes good! Also, the recipes call for fresh spinach. Is it the same if I use frozen spinach leaves?
