If you’ve been blending green smoothies with spinach and feel ready to expand into kale, I’ve got you. That’s exactly why this Kale Mango Smoothie is such a great bridge when you’re ready to move past spinach.

The naturally sweet mango and pineapple soften kale’s bold flavor, while coconut milk creates a creamy, smooth texture that makes every sip feel refreshing and satisfying. It’s a simple way to build confidence using heartier greens without sacrificing flavor.

Kale Mango Smoothie Ingredients
- Kale: Loaded with nutrients and plant power, kale helps fuel your day the green way. You can even freeze kale ahead of time so your smoothie comes out colder and smoother every time.
- Coconut Milk: I like using light canned coconut milk in this recipe to get the cream factor without the extra fat. These are my favorite coconut milk brands. You can use canned or carton, whichever your preference, or go all out and learn how to make coconut milk.
- Mango: The mighty mango may be mild in flavor, yet it adds the perfect amount of sweetness and cream to this recipe.
- Pineapple: Whether fresh or frozen, pineapple adds vitamin C, manganese and fiber. If you’re prepping fresh, here’s how to cut pineapple.

How to Make a Kale Mango Smoothie
- Add liquid and kale first: Pour 1 cup coconut milk into your blender, then add the kale. Blending greens with liquid first helps break them down completely and creates a smoother texture.
- Blend until smooth: Blend the coconut milk and kale until you don’t see leafy pieces remaining. This step prevents chunks and gives your smoothie a creamy base.
- Add the fruit: Add 1 cup mango and ½ cup pineapple. Frozen fruit works best because it creates a thick, cold, refreshing smoothie without needing ice.
- Blend again: Blend until fully smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a small splash of coconut milk. If it’s too thin, add a little more frozen mango.
- Serve and enjoy: Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Recipe Tips
- There’s only four ingredients in this perfect snack mango kale smoothie. If you want to make it more filling, add my homemade protein powder and turn it into a grab-n-go meal.
- If kale feels intimidating, you’re not alone. Start with a small handful and blend it with tropical fruit or citrus to take the bitterness out.

Yes! Raw kale provides the most nutrition, yet frozen is perfectly acceptable as well. When using fresh kale, wash well then remove the kale from the stalk (it’s bitter). Then massage the kale to soften it up.
My Mango Kale smoothie provides healthy fat as well as a boost of potassium, vitamin A, vitamin C and calcium. Talk about a nourishing beverage!
My four-ingredient mango kale smoothie has 233 calories per serving. If you want a more filling drink then swap carton coconut milk for canned (either full fat or light).

Oh so rich and creamy. Made as is
Love it – another one for my rotation!
So good! Used peaches instead of mango and added protein powder.
This one is really good and creamy!!! I used frozen mango & pineapple so I had to add some coconut water to get it to blend, lol!
Enjoyed this one today!! It was milder than some of the rest but good combo with mango and pineapple.
This was soooo good. Very coconut-y because I added a Coconut Milk Smoothie Cube. I loved this and I don’t usually like coconut. Mango and pineapple is becoming my favorite combo! This tastes like a treat and not something filled with healthy goodness.
Love this smoothie. I had difficulty deciding between 4 and 5 stars but finally decided on 4 since there were others that I believe I liked just a wee bit better. It is close though. This recipe is a keeper. It is creamy and has a magnificent flavor. I love the mango and pineapple combination.
Ok tasting, mild mango and pineapple taste. Creamy from the coconut milk. I’m not liking the coconut milk in the smoothies, I find it’s masking the fruit tastes.
Smooth and creamy! Very tropical.
Not a favorite! A little too bitter for me!
Hey Patricia,
Sometimes if you fruit isn’t ripe enough it won’t taste very sweet. When this happens you can always add in some all natural sweeteners:
I had this smoothie again adding a quarter of a avocado, five stars
Hey Anita,
Yum!! I bet that extra avocado made it extra creamy and delicious =P
Delicious! I used Silk coconut milk. It might of been better with canned coconut milk.
Hey Mireille,
We personally like to use canned coconut milk in our recipes but you can use whichever works best for you!
Loved this one! Very creamy and a beautiful bright green color.
This reminded me of our tropical vacations! It was the perfect blend. This recipe is a great starter for anyone trying kale in their smoothie for the first time.
Hey Joyce,
This smoothie does make me want to go on a tropical vacation too. I could totally see myself laying on a beach sipping on this.
Yum!!
This is simply so delicious and I can’t taste the bitterness of the kale even!
I was nervous about the kale since it has a stronger more bitter taste than spinach, but you hit it out of the park with this combo!! Smooth and creamy, couldn’t tell that there was kale in it!!
Hey Emily,
Kale Yeah!!!! So happy we got you to like kale in your smoothies!
This smoothie is soooooo good! I thought coconut water made smoothies good, but coconut MILK…oh my heavens. Make this smoothie ASAP. Like now. Stop reading comments and GO!
Hey Stephanie,
Welcome to the coconut milk side! 🙂
YUM! The mango in this one makes it so creamy
I have to agree!! Anything with mango is a win in my book 🙂
I enjoyed the change with kale and coconut milk. I will be making this one again.
Not my favorite smoothie. I loved using canned coconut milk for richer flavor but needed to add a small banana to bring the acidity down a notch. It was delicious after I tweeked it!
Oh my! This is the first Kale smoothie that I have really liked (not the last though)! This was excellent. Look forward to having it again!!!! Thanks!
