If you’ve been blending green smoothies with spinach and feel ready to expand into kale, I’ve got you. That’s exactly why this Kale Mango Smoothie is such a great bridge when you’re ready to move past spinach.

The naturally sweet mango and pineapple soften kale’s bold flavor, while coconut milk creates a creamy, smooth texture that makes every sip feel refreshing and satisfying. It’s a simple way to build confidence using heartier greens without sacrificing flavor.

Kale Mango Smoothie Ingredients
- Kale: Loaded with nutrients and plant power, kale helps fuel your day the green way. You can even freeze kale ahead of time so your smoothie comes out colder and smoother every time.
- Coconut Milk: I like using light canned coconut milk in this recipe to get the cream factor without the extra fat. These are my favorite coconut milk brands. You can use canned or carton, whichever your preference, or go all out and learn how to make coconut milk.
- Mango: The mighty mango may be mild in flavor, yet it adds the perfect amount of sweetness and cream to this recipe.
- Pineapple: Whether fresh or frozen, pineapple adds vitamin C, manganese and fiber. If you’re prepping fresh, here’s how to cut pineapple.

How to Make a Kale Mango Smoothie
- Add liquid and kale first: Pour 1 cup coconut milk into your blender, then add the kale. Blending greens with liquid first helps break them down completely and creates a smoother texture.
- Blend until smooth: Blend the coconut milk and kale until you don’t see leafy pieces remaining. This step prevents chunks and gives your smoothie a creamy base.
- Add the fruit: Add 1 cup mango and ½ cup pineapple. Frozen fruit works best because it creates a thick, cold, refreshing smoothie without needing ice.
- Blend again: Blend until fully smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a small splash of coconut milk. If it’s too thin, add a little more frozen mango.
- Serve and enjoy: Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Recipe Tips
- There’s only four ingredients in this perfect snack mango kale smoothie. If you want to make it more filling, add my homemade protein powder and turn it into a grab-n-go meal.
- If kale feels intimidating, you’re not alone. Start with a small handful and blend it with tropical fruit or citrus to take the bitterness out.

Yes! Raw kale provides the most nutrition, yet frozen is perfectly acceptable as well. When using fresh kale, wash well then remove the kale from the stalk (it’s bitter). Then massage the kale to soften it up.
My Mango Kale smoothie provides healthy fat as well as a boost of potassium, vitamin A, vitamin C and calcium. Talk about a nourishing beverage!
My four-ingredient mango kale smoothie has 233 calories per serving. If you want a more filling drink then swap carton coconut milk for canned (either full fat or light).

This was delicious! The mango and pineapple blend perfectly and mask the bitterness of the kale. The coconut milk rounds out the smoothie and makes it super creamy.
Kale usually works best in tropical flavored smoothies like these. Way to blend Hope! 🙂
I used coconut water and added banana instead of the pineapple it was really good I will try it with pineapple next it was super delicious
I loved it, will do it again, the flavors blend so well
I think kale in smoothies always tastes best paired with tropical fruits.
I used spinach instead of kale this was very good
I’ve decided that the smoothies made with coconut milk are not my favorite but I do love them with coconut water so I went half & half with this. Delicious and creamy!
I enjoyed this smoothie very much!
I made it with 1/4 cup coconut milk, 1/2 cup yogurt and 1/2 cup water instead of just with coconut milk since I’m not crazy about coconut milk. Yogurt with mango and pineapple worked very well!
Ooohh love the coconut milk in this smoothie! It made it so creamy and yummy! It’s so tropical too! I mean you can’t go wrong!!! I don’t usually use mango but I will definitely be adding this smoothie in my regular rotation!!!
This smoothie was yummy however I don’t think I was a fan of both the Kale and coconut milk mix together. This smoothie was still good but probably one of my least favorites so far in the 10-day challenge.
soooooo yummy
I didn’t have kale and opted for spinach and used coconut water instead of milk (personal preference). Very yummy and smooth. I used fresh pineapple and it was sweet treat.
Day 9 of my Green Smoothie Challenge – Kale Mango Smoothie. The taste was good. Something about the texture seemed chalky. Maybe the canned coconut milk? I do like kale so I will try this again with a different type of coconut milk/water.
Loved this smoothie! The mango thickens it up and the pineapple makes it sweet.
Loved it!
I was not feeling the coconut milk this morning, so I used unsweetened almond milk and it was delicious. I also added chia seeds and MCT oil to make it a meal before I headed out for my morning walk.
I like this one, but I think I have discovered that I prefer spinach over kale in a smoothie. The kale has such a strong taste!
Day 9 of the Smoothie Challenge – Kale Mango. Very smooth start with a sweet kick to finish. It was a welcome surprise on my bike commute to work. Simple Green Smoothies #simplegreensmoothies @ Tempe, Arizona
Super tasty! The turmeric smoothie cubes I added were a nice touch too!
I think this is one of my favorites! So sweet & creamy! The pineapple helps with any bitterness the kale may have. I will definitely be making this one a lot this summer!
Kale Mango Smoothie was awesome, today I added a banana, chia seeds and collagen with a tad bit extra coconut milk. Putting coconut milk in my smoothies have me a whole different ways to make smoothies. I’m Loving this 10days green smoothie challenge.
Woo hoo! So glad you’re enjoying the challenge. 🙂
