Health Benefits of a Lemon Peach Smoothie
Lemon: This smoothie calls for a whole lemon without the rind. Lemon flesh provides fiber to help you feel full longer. Lemons also give this smoothie a dose of vitamin C, which is just what your body needs to fend off both cold and flu viruses.
Peaches: Peaches are in the stone fruit family, and stone fruit gets its name from the hard, inner seed. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to support a healthy immune system. Peaches may also prevent certain types of cancer and aid in digestion.
Honey: Honey not only adds natural sweetness to this lemon smoothie, it’s also a natural energy booster. Look for raw honey in the baking aisle of your grocery store. Unlike pasteurized honey, Raw honey does not undergo the heating process, and all of the nutrients are preserved. Raw honey has antioxidant and natural anti-bacterial properties that can help improve digestive system as well as help you stay healthy.
Ginger: Ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compound gingerol. Ginger also helps promote healthy digestion, lower blood pressure, and increased immunity. Peel the skin from the ginger with a sharp paring knife before grating the flesh.
Turmeric: Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. The medicinal effects of turmeric work at the molecular level to tame inflammation that leads to diseases like heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and Alzheimerโs. Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. If using fresh, then use about a ยฝ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel the turmeric first, then grate before adding to the blender.
How to remove the rind from a lemon
- Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
- Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
- Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.

If you blended a smoothie that tastes less than great, then try adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to it. Lemon can help brighten up that smoothie a bit, as well as bring the other flavors together.
If you find lemons a bit too tart for a smoothie, then try buying Meyer lemons. I can seriously eat these lemons by themselves, they are so sweet and juicy.

This one was a bit tart and strong with the effects of the turmeric and ginger. Unfortunately, this is not one of my favorites, but I will finish drinking it!
I know that this one is very healthy, but it was a bit strong for my taste. I think that if I was coming down with a cold, this would nip it in the bud!
I like this smoothie, it was refreshing with lime and honey. I got the little bit turmeric flavor, other than that itโs .
Definitely had blind faith w/ this one, but was pleasantly surprised. Expected to not like it, but it wasnโt bad. I think the honey made it not so tart. Probably wonโt be in my regular rotation, but didnโt hate it.
Didnโt care for this oneโฆtoo lemony. The consistency was nice, though.
This was really delicious! However the lemons were not enough to blend the frozen peaches. I needed to add liquid such as coconut water to blend and emulsify the raw ginger.
Expected to love this one because I love lemon but I was mixed on this one. The initial flavor was good and refreshing but there was an aftertaste. Not sure if it was the ginger or turmeric. Definitely on my list of likes.
I am confused with some of the directions. What is one inch of ginger? do you look at it as a cube? I’m use to spoon measurements. Also in reading through the literature it said add the water if you wanted it to be more liquid. This smoothie was much smaller than the others so I’m not sure what the quantity would be without the water?
Doing the 10 Day Challenge and I’ve been looking forward to this one! I love sour. As is, it was really good but intense. After the initial taste I added seeds and ice. That diluted and toned down the flavor to about perfect. Really small quantity though.

Wasnโt sure what to expect, but love the tart treat! Just perfect for my taste.
So this was different but after a couple of sips, it grew on me! A little tart at first but I liked it!
Yum! I added SGS protein and made it a meal.
Not my favorite but I tried it. It was ok, will leave out the ginger next time
This wasnโt my favorite. But I knew it probably wouldnโt be. I wasnโt a fan of the ginger and turmeric.
I give it a 4 I wanted to finish it but could not. I love the health benefits. I will keep trying on this journey and may taste differently in a few weeks!!!
I think had I stayed with only using 1/2 a lemon, I would have been able to drink this. For me, a whole lemon was too much.
This is my favorite!! (so far) A great blend of flavors.
