If you’re looking for an easy way to support gut health without overthinking it, this Probiotic Smoothie is a great place to start. It’s light, refreshing, and naturally fizzy thanks to kombucha, with frozen peaches adding just the right amount of sweetness.
This is one of those smoothies that feels more like a treat than a “health thing”—especially with the lime-sugar rim—but it still delivers real benefits. Simple ingredients, quick prep, and a flavor combo that keeps you coming back.

Why I Love This Probiotic Smoothie
Gut health plays a big role in how we feel day to day—from digestion and energy to mood and immunity. Probiotics help support a healthy balance of bacteria in the gut, and this is one of the best green smoothies to get them in.
Instead of relying on supplements, this recipe uses kombucha as a natural probiotic source and pairs it with fruit, leafy green vegetables, and optional plant-based protein for balance.

Ingredients You’ll Need
This smoothie comes together with just a handful of ingredients:
- Spinach: A gentle leafy green that blends easily and adds fiber and micronutrients.
- Kombucha: Provides probiotics and a light, refreshing tang.
- Frozen peaches: Naturally sweet, and a low-sugar fruit, it’s thick and creamy once blended.
- Collagen peptides: Helps turn this into a more filling snack or light meal. If you’re vegan, swap it for my homemade protein powder or leave out.
- For the rim: Dip the glass rim into lime juice and coat with coconut sugar to add a subtle caramel-like sweetness to the rim. Completely optional, but fun!
Kombucha Buying Guide
My favorite store-bought brands of kombucha are:
- Health-Ade: Passion Fruit-Tangerine or Pink Lady Apple
- GTS Living Foods: Watermelon Wonder
- Suja: Peach Kombucha
- GTS Living Food: Gingerade

How to Make a Probiotic Smoothie
- Start by blending the spinach and kombucha together until completely smooth. This step helps avoid leafy chunks and creates a smooth base. Explore my how to make smoothie guide to become a smoothie pro.
- Add the frozen peaches and blend again on high until thick and creamy.
- Add in collagen peptides and blend on low.
- On a small shallow plate, pour the lime juice and coconut sugar. Dip the rim of your glass into the lime juice, then into the sugar to coat the edge.
- Pour the smoothie into the glass and enjoy right away.

Notes
- Feel free to swap out the peaches for another fruit such as frozen pineapple, mango, or strawberries. Switch things up by using another flavor of kombucha.
- You can also blend the lime right into the smoothie and use water to line the glass.
- Probiotics can be added to the smoothie as well in powder form.

Leave a review for a chance to win signed copies of my cookbooks!Nope. Blending kombucha does not destroy its beneficial probiotics. As long as you’re using raw, unpasteurized kombucha and not heating it, those live cultures stay intact and active in your smoothie.
Only lightly. The frozen peaches naturally sweeten the smoothie and balance kombucha’s tang. If you’re new to kombucha, choose a mild flavor (like ginger or plain) and avoid strongly spiced varieties.
Yes. Collagen peptides don’t interfere with probiotics and blend in easily. They’re flavorless and dissolve smoothly, making them an easy add-in for extra protein and amino acids.
Not at all. The rim is optional and purely for fun. It adds a little sparkle and brightness, but the smoothie is just as nourishing and delicious without it.

This one was ok I don’t really like kombucha but made it work
Tasty with a kombucha sprintzer.
Peach Probiotic Smoothie was great, I didn’t have coconut sugar so I put Cinnamon on the glass. I also added chia seeds and collagen with a pinch of ginger I’m going to continue on with daily smoothies..
Day 10 of Smoothie Challenge. I used guava mango flavored kombucha. This was creamy and refreshing! Took it on my hike today and it hit the spot. Will definitely add this one to my recipedex!
This was really good but I was hoping more of the kombucha taste came through. I’ll try with a different flavor & see if that helps
Peach probiotic smoothie by far my favorite out of the 10 day challenge! I was a little scared to try kombucha since I’ve never tried but got a flavor I enjoy ginger and lemon it was very delicious
The flavors are DELICIOUS! I don’t like Kombucha by itself but it was tasty in this smoothie!!
Have to say, you saved the best for last. This really tasted out of this world
I loved this!! I used ginger kombucha and added mint. Delicious!! Next time I’m going to use ginger cayenne kombucha and pineapple.
The smoothie had the kombucha taste and I was surprised. I actually loved it.
I ran out of peaches so used pineapple and frozen mango and used water instead of kumbucha. It was a bit weird with the lime so I added banana and it was sooo good. These are so easy to tweak and make them to your taste.
I think I’ve found a new favorite in this Peach Probiotic Green Smoothie. The flavor popped, which is what I look for in a green smoothie. The ginger kombucha added just that hint of zing, and the peaches were sweet. I never thought to use kombucha before, but I’ll have to keep experimenting in the future. Disclosure: I used fresh peaches and frozen kale cubes (I ran out of spinach, but had plenty of kale), and I used the 1/2 lime to wet the rim of the glass before mixing it into the smoothie. (I dipped the glass in the coconut sugar after liming the rim.)
This is so yummy! I used fresh peaches instead of frozen peaches and it was so sweet and fresh! The hint of lime gets me every time too! SOO GOOD! Loved the addition of kombucha to this smoothie. I have never added kombucha to a smoothie before and I’m for sure going to do it again!! Loved the zing!!! Give this a try for sure!
Loved this smoothie. Just became one of my favorite smoothies. I have never used kombucha in a smoothie before and wasn’t sure about it. Now I am sure. Great! I used pink lady apple flavor. It gave the smoothie a crisp flavor. Just loved it.
So so so so GOOOOOD! I loved that hint of lime. I left off the coconut sugar because I was taking it to go in the car, but I imagine it would be amazing…and will definitely try it the next time I make it. The Kombucha I used was Strawberry Lemonade flavored…. I was scared because it smelled like vinegar and I don’t care for vinegar…but it didn’t taste like it at all. I don’t like Kombucha on its own….but can DEFINITELY drink it in a smoothie – BRILLIANT idea!
This was a very enjoyable smoothie. I do love kombucha and this blended so lovely with my frozen peaches that it was like an ice cream. Perfection on a hot day.
Very good.
I would have never thought to put kombucha in my smoothie, this was very different and added a tart tangy flavor to the green smoothie. The Kombucha I used was Guava so I feel like it went well with the peach flavor of this smoothie. I am so proud of myself for finishing the 10-day challenge and I am feeling great! And plan to continue to try and have a green smoothie every day it was quite easy for me to substitute my smoothie for my breakfast meal of the day. Thanks so much! I love all the recipes!
We’re proud of you too, Taylor! Way to rawk the challenge! 🙂
I have tried Kombucha a few times and don’t really like it but I thought I would give it another shot. It was okay, not as bad as it is by itself. Not sure I would have it again though. May swap out the Kombucha in the future. The rest was delicious though!
Can I give this one 10 stars? This smoothie tasted like I was drinking a fancy adult beverage on a sunny beach. SO GOOD! I love kombucha, though, and I know not everyone likes the taste of it. But with the addition of the peaches and lime juice, I didn’t really taste the kombucha – it just added a nice carbonated zip to the smoothie. I’m going to experiment with different kombucha flavors and fruits in the near future.
