This metabolism tea is the perfect daily kickstart. Full of good-for-you foods that boost your metabolism. Real ingredients= real benefits.

Boost your metabolism naturally with this healing Metabolism Tea recipe. It will naturally suppress hunger and kick start the fat burning process.

There’s no secret here. To get your metabolism ramped up, you just need what we’ve always needed: rest, nutrient-dense foods and movement. This is how our bodies are meant to function and thrive.

When you get back to these basics, your body will respond and heal itself. Sometimes that means more energy, weight loss, clear skin, fewer aches, etc— but no matter what it’s going to be feeling better than it does right now.

The Weight Loss Struggle is Real

Now, I know it’s waaaaay the heck easier said than done… and I struggle with this every single day. Yet I’ve had many break throughs over the years as I get older, which is why I’m here to share with you what works best for me in hopes that’ll it help you too.

Embracing simple food habits is where I’ve had the most success with my health. From a morning metabolism tea to a green smoothie— I have set the foundation to have the intention for the day of the body I want to have: strong, healthy & energetic.

On a side-ish note…Something that really helps me personally stay motivated and on track is our Rawk the Year Meal Planner. What foods boost your metabolism?

Getting a healthy amount of greens, legumes, proteins, vegetables and fruits is essential to supporting the metabolism (1). Slow burning carbohydrates will help you maintain a stable metabolic rate and keep you active and nourished throughout the day. Stick with foods like:

Refined sugars and simple starches do the opposite, spiking insulin production and throwing the whole system out of whack. This can cause the metabolism to slow down and to store sugar as fat rather than burning it as energy. Yet it’s not easy to say no to them, so I prefer the method of adding in more good stuff so it crowds out the bad.

Bottom line: a mostly plant-based whole foods diet is gonna do your metabolism some serious good.

To even get your body excited to head in this direction, you have to create simple habits that’ll get you craving these lighter, cleaner foods. And that’s where my Metabolism Tea comes into play.

What is a metabolism tea?

Activating your metabolism will help you burn more fat and give you more energy throughout the day. This is something we all want and can get! It can start with this tea recipe using plant-based ingredients that are high in nutrients that naturally activate your metabolism.

To train your body to crave the right foods, we have to set the foundation for that every single day. This morning tea uses a splash of apple cider vinegar, fresh lemon juice, cayenne pepper and cinnamon to wake up your metabolic system naturally. We’ve added some raw honey and ginger root to make it taste better and help your digestive system as well.

Which tea is best for weight loss?

When trying to shed a few pounds, I encourage you to drink this Metabolism Tea 1-2 times a day. It has all the fresh, natural ingredients to activate your metabolic system at a SUPER affordable price. I’m all about making a healthy lifestyle affordable.

The best time to have this is upon rising as it will activate your digestive system and help relieve any bloating or digestive concerns. Once the tonic settles in, it’ll get your metabolism burn happening as well.

As the day goes on and you’re feeling hungry in between meals, sip this before you have a snack. Sometimes huger is actually your body telling you it’s thirsty (the wires do often get crossed in our minds).

What a healthy metabolism really means

I hope I’ve inspired you to try this simple morning routine to kick start your weight loss journey. Yet what I hope for even more, is that you don’t focus on the numbers on the scale, but more on what being lighter will allow you to do.

‘Set goals beyond pants size or pounds— run a 5k, hike a trail, run the Grand Canyon (true story!) kayak with your kids, dancing with your loved ones— allow your weight loss success to just be a launching pad to a more active energized version of you.

its nasty and i don’t lose no weight i will look at something else i have been taking it for a month it have not been doing anything not good i would wather go to the gym

  2. Kathleen says:

    I LOVE this tea!!!

  3. Ash Kardash says:

It’s really nasty but I can see change

  4. Kathlene Weaver says:

can you drink the tea cold

    • Simple Green Smoothies says:

You can totally drink the tea cold. However, the warmth of the liquid hitting you system in the morning is part of what helps your digestive system to “kick into gear” (if ya know what I mean). Drinking it cold won’t work as well in that regard.

  5. Peggy says:

    Can you use ground ginger?

    • Simple Green Smoothies says:

For sure, Peggy! 🙂 Just know that it won’t be quite as potent, but it does in a pinch!

  6. Rhonda says:

This tea is really good. I will drink at night when I am studying instead of drinking coffee.

    • Simple Green Smoothies says:

That’s a great idea, Rhonda! Avoiding the caffeine will help you sleep better too!

  7. Amanda says:

WOW! My taste buds are having a party rn. Just made this and it is DIVINE! My daughter and myself are trying to transition into a healthier lifestyle and I have to say this is a great start! I love all of the ingredients that make this cup of greatness and cook with them often,so we had everything at home already and that is all the better to rate this a 5 ⭐!

  8. Amanda Stead says:

Hi, I have an autoimmune thyroid condition (Hashimotos) and seriously need to lose weight. I already drink hot water with lemon and honey most mornings and and love the idea of the metabolism tea. Could I then combine this with weight loss smoothies for breakfast and lunch? I have to take medication in the morning and then ideally leave 3 hours or so before eating, so I tend to wake around 6.30, take my tablet, have hot water and lemon around 8ish and then leave breakfast until after my children have gone to school around 9.30. Would this work? Thank you

    • Simple Green Smoothies says:

While we’d love to say this would work for you Amanda, unfortunately we’re not docs or nutritionists. Best thing to do would be to share your plan with your healthcare provider and get their advice on what is best. Hashimotos can be difficult to wrangle with, so we def want you to do what’s going to be best for your body!

  9. Michelle Zajichek says:

Can I drink the Metabolism Tea and Detox tea in the morning -one right after the other ?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jen says:

I would space them out. Have the Metabolism tea first thing… and then the detox tea in between meals when you’re feeling the “cravings” come on.

  10. Randy says:

i I have been drinking this tea recipe for some time now, only i use gunpower green tea instead of apple cider vinegar.Tast very good.

  11. Ioulieta says:

Great recipe! I love it. I share it with my husband and he loves it too! Thank you

  12. Cynthia A Brinson says:

Can anyone tell me the best way to bree Skinny Dreams Tea? It is supposed to be a “fat burning sleep aid. Once again, why no instructions for brewinh and using the tiny tea bags with no strings.

    • SGS Rawkstar Jen says:

Hi Cynthia— we don’t use any brand of tea here and don’t promote the brand you mentioned above. Yet ‘m sure if you reached out to that company directly they could help you. Or why not ditch the brand and just make this one yourself? It’ll save you money and most likely work even better since you control the level of ingredients and can make it stronger if you like.

  13. Cynthia A Brinson says:

There are NO INSTRUCTIONS included with the skinny dreams tea. This appears to be hugh ripoff. Can’t even find instructions on line.

  14. Jane says:

I love this drink! What would be the best way to make it in batches? Remove the water and just make it as a concentrate maybe? Or make it into ice cubes? Thanks!!

    • SGS Rawkstar Jess says:

Hey Jane! I suggest making it into single-serving cubes you can add to water. If you make it as a concentrate, the longer the mixture sits, the more and more potent the spices will get and it will eventually be really tough to drink no matter how much you dilute it. (Speaking from experience!)

  15. Shipra says:

This will only give me acidity. Everything in it is acidic in nature

    • SGS Rawkstar Jess says:

Hi Shipra. I understand your confusion- vinegar and lemons are acidic. However, they help to alkalinize your body so they’re actually great things to drink, especially first thing in the morning. You should def give this drink a chance.

  16. Cindy says:

This tea tastes amazing, I have a hard time with the grated ginger when drinking the tea it’s a bit much. Is the tea supposed to be strained prior?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jess says:

Cindy, you can definitely strain it if you like or you can use ground ginger in place of fresh.

  17. Nicole says:

I LOVE Apple Cider Vinegar! I drink some diluted in my water everyday. The water might taste a little funny, but it makes me feel amazing! I am interested in this morning tea and going to start making it a morning habit. Thank you for the helpful healthy ideas!

  18. ChrissyFace says:

I think I need a literal kick in the you know what but I’m going to give this a try! Thanks for the recipe 🙂

  19. Caleb says:

Does this help to burn fat?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jess says:

This Metabolism Tea will keep your hunger cravings at bay and also kick start the fat burning process.

  20. Anne DeArmon says:

When I use this tea I also don’t have allergies that day. It is so wonderful because allergy medicine gives me migraines.

  21. Kathleen Kerr says:

Can you make it the night before and the heat it up in the morning?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jess says:

You def can but I’d wait to add the cinnamon and (especially) the cayenne pepper until right before you drink it. I learned the hard way that the longer potent spices are allowed to sit in a drink, the more pronounced the flavor of that spice will be. I enjoy cayenne pepper but the taste was *so strong* I felt like it knocked out every one of my taste buds. 😮

  22. Shanna says:

I am not a fan of spicy foods. Does the cayenne pepper make the tea to spicy?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jess says:

Shanna, the cayenne will make it a bit spicy. There is a compound called capsaicin in cayenne peppers and capsaicin has metabolism-boosting properties, which is why it’s an important ingredient in this recipe. 🙂

  23. Nora says:

Do you need to use fresh ginger ..can it be substituted for organic ground ginger

    • SGS Rawkstar Jess says:

Nora, fresh ginger is best for this recipe. If you don’t have fresh and have to use ground ginger, you’ll want to use 1/4 teaspoon for every tablespoon the recipe calls for because ground ginger is much more concentrated in flavor.

  24. Sharri Compton says:

This is one of my favs! It really works! I have added fresh lime juice as well. My body thrives on this each day I awaken!

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

I am so happy that you you enjoy this morning tea so much! I feel the same way when I drink this in the morning too. It makes my whole day better!!

  25. Aminah says:

Is this suppose to be done every morning?

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

      Hey Aminah,

Yes, this would be a great addition to your morning routine!
