This peach spinach smoothie screams summer and is the ultimate in refreshing green smoothies. It’s loaded up with heart-healthy dietary fiber and relies on refreshing fruits for its mildly sweet flavor. By the way, if you prefer a sweeter smoothie — feel free to add a banana, which also adds more potassium and will make the smoothie creamy.

This is such a fun smoothie to make + sip! It’s the perfect post workout drink because it’s easy to make, with just 4 rawkstar ingredients:

  • Spinach– a superfood leafy green packed with iron.
  • Grapes– loaded with vitamins C and K, as well as nutrients that help keep the heart healthy.
  • Peaches– rich in antioxidants, which help fight chronic disease and cancer.

Basically, this peach spinach smoothie is a powerhouse of wellness… plus it tastes delicious.

Green vs red grapes

Is there really a difference in nutrition between green and red grapes? The easy answer is… not really. If there’s one variety you like best, then go for it. Yet the darker in color the grape is, the more antioxidants it contains. So if that’s why your popping grapes, then aim for the darker red varieties. I think green grapes are more tart, and pair well with the sweet peaches + tangy coconut water in this smoothie, so I typically blend those.

To peel or not to peel peaches

Depending on the type of blender you have, you may want to peel your peaches. Yet if your blender can handle the skin, then I def recommend keeping it. Green smoothie ingredient swaps

As with any green smoothie, I want you to get all the benefits you can. If that means swapping out an ingredient for one you can more easily find, ingest, or grow, then go for it! Spinach can be swapped out for Swiss chard or baby kale. Peaches can be swapped for almost any other stone fruit (apricots, nectarines, plums), or mango. Swap coconut water out for plain water, or even brewed tea. Obviously the flavor + consistency will change based on the swaps you make, so if the blend doesn’t feel right, don’t be afraid to add in extra fruit or liquid for the perfect drink.

Freezing ingredients for smoothies

Peaches are great smoothie ingredients, yet they have such a short growing season. Honestly, I buy them by the crate at Costco and Trader Joe’s, then slice them up and freeze. This way I can use them throughout the year, and I know they were super ripe + fresh when frozen. When freezing, I slice peaches into wedges, then lay them out on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Freeze for 1 hour, then toss the wedges into a freezer-safe container for storage.

Did you know grapes are also great frozen? My kids love to eat frozen grapes for snacks in the summer, yet freezing them also makes them the perfect ‘fruit cube’ for smoothies. Just lay grapes out on a tray lined with parchment, freeze for 1 hour, then store in a freezer safe container. If using frozen grapes in this spinach peach smoothie, make sure to up the liquid to 3/4 a cup instead of 1/2. This is because grapes act as a liquid and a fruit in smoothies, but not when frozen.

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup grapes - frozen
  • 1/2 cup peaches - frozen
  • 1 serving Protein Smoothie Boost - optional


  • Blend spinach, grapes and coconut water until smooth.
  • Add the remaining fruits and blend again.


  • Freeze at least one of these fruits to make the smoothie cold.
  • Other stone fruits can be used in place of the peaches, if needed. Grapes can be substituted with cubed melon. Plain water may be used in place of the coconut water, if needed.

    Didn’t have grapes for this so used peaches and banana. Used 1/2 kefir and 1/2 coconut water. Added hemp seeds and ginger.Will try the original recipe when grapes are in season.

    As always, this was good, not my favorite, but that is probably due to the grapes I had, which were not wonderful, and a ripe fresh local peach would really make this shine. I only had frozen peaches, I will try it again when peaches are in season.

    I enjoyed my modified version of this smoothie. I used alkaline smoothie cubes instead of the spinach and used green grapes. Additionally I included oats, almond butter, matcha, chia seeds, and hemp hearts. The result was the perfect balance between tart, from the citrus in the cubes, and sweetness, from the grapes and peaches. Next time I’ll probably use a milder fat like avocado or coconut oil.

    Loved this smoothie! I didn’t have any green grapes (which I love in smoothies) so I substituted blueberries and it’s a new favorite!

    I love the addition of the grapes in this one with the peaches. It gave it an extra sweetness. I froze my grapes so they seemed extra sweet.

    I want to try this one again when I have coconut water, and green grapes. I used plain water and red grapes, and it was good, but I think it would be better with the added benefits of the coconut water, and like the author says, the tang of the green grapes vs. the red that I used.

    Not a fan of coconut water, but I couldn’t even taste the coconut in the smoothie. The second time I made it, didn’t have any grapes, so I substituted grapes for blueberries and it’s just as delicious.

      Plain water can always be swapped in for coconut water here. Just remember that leaving it out will affect the amount of potassium and antioxidants you’ll be getting in that smoothie.

    This smoothie did not make that much so it will never be a meal replacement. I also had to make it with coconut milk rather than coconut water. I have to say that it is not a favorite. I did not like the peach flavor with the spinach.

    Simple and delicious. This time I substituted anti-inflammatory smoothie cubes for the peaches, which created a strong tangy flavour. I use red instead of green grapes because that’s what I had on hand. I also added a few kale stems and half a scoop of hemp protein powder.

    This one was not my favorite. It may have been I used Kale instead of spinach. I had some fresh kale from a friend’s garden, and was excited about using it. I may have added too much. I added strawberries to help with the flavor. I will try it again with the spinach.

      Good for you for trying something different! I have found that kale has a stronger flavour and works best with sweeter fruits like pineapple, mango or banana. Alternatively spinach is better with lighter fruits like peaches and grapes, as you’ve learned too. Keep blending and trying new things!

      I’ve totally done the same, Joyce! Kale has a stronger flavor than spinach. If you do end up trying it with the kale again, make sure your banana is extra ripe. The sweetness will help to counter the strength of the kale flavor.

    Did I hear anti-aging? Sign me up. Just kidding but nice to know this blend has extra super powers and it was quite refreshing and tasty. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like grapes (consistency or taste) in my smoothies, but my Vitamix blended them that there was no issue with consistency (previous blender left pieces). For the taste I have to admit as I was having this post-workout I threw in some Vanilla Whey Protein and it complimented the blend well. I froze it overnight, took it out before workout and by the time I was done it was nice, creamy, cold and ready to boost me with its super powers.
