This Chocolate Covered Cherry Green Smoothie will fool your tastebuds into thinking you’re sipping something far more decadent than a healthy smoothie!

We are big believers in creating smoothies that aren’t just healthy, but also taste amazing. This is one of those smoothies that is extra delicious. Cacao powder not only adds amazing chocolate flavor, it also adds antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

Cherries are one of our favorite ingredients, especially when they are in season. But during the rest of the year, we love blending up frozen cherries. Tart cherries can help muscles recover after working out. They are also full of dietary fiber, vitamin A, potassium, and even a little bit of calcium.

The nutrients in cherries can help support muscle, heart, kidney, and nerve cell functions. And get this – cherries contain melatonin. That means sipping this smoothie can help your body if you’re suffering from jetlag.

Description

This antioxidant-packed green smoothie is a healthy indulgence that will satisfy any sweet tooth.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 cup cherries (pitted)
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1.5 tbsp cacao powder

Instructions

  1. Blend spinach and almond milk until smooth.
  2. Next add the remaining fruits and blend again.

Notes

*Use frozen fruit to make smoothie cold.

      Our fav sub for banana is usually mango. Yet in this case, we’d recommend a nut butter of your choice instead.

    I had weight loss surgery 2.7 years ago. Here lately I have gotten in to smoothies to keep me balanced out better for lunch. This one..omg it is so yummy. Yes the cinnamon might taste a bit strong BUT it also is a natural blood sugar regulator.
