Strawberry Mango Smoothie in a cute crate

Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this strawberry mango smoothie was created by my very first SGS rawkstar team member, Dan Mottayaw. That was 8 years ago, and now he’s got a toddler who gulps this smoothie down! It warms my heart to see kids growing up on leafy greens + fruit, like this delicious strawberry mango smoothie recipe.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Strawberries, a powerhouse smoothie ingredient

Did you know that strawberries actually have more vitamin C than oranges? It’s true! These sweet berries shine in this strawberry mango smoothie recipe, both in flavor and in nutrients.

Strawberries are also low in sugar + high in fiber, which makes them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush, as well as keep your levels more stable. They are naturally sweet, so they are a great sweet treat in a smoothie, or straight off the stem.

Strawberries can also be used in any berry recipe as a substitute.

Mango: the best tropical fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mangoes. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them – blended in this strawberry mango smoothie as well as freshly peeled.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. It’s juicy + sweet and chock full of vitamin A and fiber. Make sure and stand over the sink while eating a fresh one, because you’ll have juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie to instantly get an island vibe going. I usually buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco when using it in this strawberry mango smoothie, because it’s cheaper than my local grocery store.

  1. Bev says:

I agree with some of the “not quite sweet enough” comments. I made a doubled batch and after tasting, I boosted the flavor by adding 1 cashew/coconut frozen cube, 2 dates, and then just a little honey. It was delicious – will keep it as a regular!!
    Thanks!

    • Simple Green Smoothies says:

Love that you went for such great add-ins Bev. Way to customize! 🙂

  2. Caroline Hileman says:

Day 2 – really liked the flavor – filling and helped curb my coffee intake

  3. Grace says:

Strawberry and mango is one of my favourite fruit combinations! This time I put in cashew milk instead of almond, plus added some beet tops for extra greens.

  4. Beatrix says:

    Yum.

  5. dawn g says:

Hmmm? Well, it was good but for me not great … didn’t have a sweetness to it like yesterdays BEGINNERS LUCK. I used Frozen Organic Strawberries (from Albertsons) & Frozen Mangos (from WalMart). I’m wondering if the Strawberries just don’t have flavor 0r maybe pineapples from yesterdays smoothie are just sweeter in general? I am a NEWBIE with VitaMix & Smoothies so trying to figure it all out. I’ve had my VitaMix a couple of months now & have been experimenting but have found I definitely need guidance. I have read that with VitaMix I should be able to put all ingredients, at least with todays STRAWBERRY MANGO BOOST recipe, in at one time & then Mix. My VitaMix stops (motor runs but blades are not turning products. Other times I hear a pulsing motor sound? Is all this normal?

    • Simple Green Smoothies says:

Hi Dawn – Such great questions! Fruit can lose flavor if it’s been in the freezer for a super long time. Next time you could try adding additional strawberry or swap out the frozen for fresh. And you are right – Vitamix is a powerhouse that can handle anything you throw at it! The pulsing sound can be normal, yet if the blades are spinning and not moving your ingredients that’s a signal you need to add more liquid. Despite the awesomeness of Vitamix, we still recommend blending your liquid and greens first, then adding your other ingredients to finish blending.

  6. Stephanie P. says:

A little less sweet, but that’s a good thing as I’m trying to cut back on sugar, nice and creamy too,

  7. Raychel says:

I subbed blueberries for strawberries because I needed to use them up. The first sip was a bit off-putting (I think the frozen mango I got wasn’t ripe when it was frozen) but it got better as I drank it.

  8. Florence says:

This was my first smoothie with almond milk! It was a nice change – I ended up using unsweetened almond with coconut milk. The lower stars simply reflect the more brownish colour and enjoyed it a little less than all the other excellent recipes!

  9. Lesley R says:

Found the strawberry flavor really lacking… probably from using frozen. Will try again with fresh strawberries sometime?

    • Simple Green Smoothies says:

Fresh strawberries would be a great idea, Lesley! Over a super long time in the freezer, fruit can lose flavor. So fresh would help get that stronger strawberry flavor you’re looking for.

  10. Susan says:

Don’t usually like almond milk in my smoothies but this seems to give it a creamy taste. Tasty and not too sweet.

  11. Alissabeth Taylor says:

Always delivers on taste. Color is not as appealing lol.

  12. Suzanne says:

I made this with my first try at homemade almond milk. Yummy! One of my favourite smoothies!

  13. Nicole says:

Came out brown in color but was delish. Not too sweet. I added lime zest and a few sprouted sunflower seeds.

  14. Melanie says:

I’m not typically an almond milk fan -but, found this refreshing! Almost did my automatic sub for coconut milk and glad I followed the recipe!

  15. Cindy says:

I can only give a ⭐️⭐️ rating on this Strawberry Mango Smoothie. And that only because it’s a green smoothie and healthy! I even tried to help boost some flavor by adding almond butter! No go! Will not blend this recipe again!

  16. Amanda Fitzsimmons says:

Not my favorite one but still tasty. Probably wouldn’t make this one on my own, but I am happy I tried it!

  17. Colleen says:

This is a yummy one. Mango and strawberry are some of my very favorites. The nut milk gives it a creamier taste that my family likes.

  18. Judith Walter says:

All it the smoothies are awesome. I love having one every morning, I add chia seeds to one every day for calcium

  19. Sarah Jasinski says:

Tastes great, but my color was more of a brown than a green. 🙁

  20. Titilola Palmer says:

Yum! I really enjoyed this smoothie. I added a half scoop of plant based vanilla protein powder and it was delicious. So far I’m loving this 10 day smoothie challenge.

  21. Anne says:

My first smoothie with almond milk. Was good but a little bland, still I felt great after drinking it. I used frozen fruit and did need to add a little water to be able to blend.

  22. Anna says:

    Yum!

  23. Aurilia Hill says:

Strawberry Mango smoothie delicious. Mango is one of my favourite fruits. Enjoying the green smoothie challenge.

  24. Dory says:

Forgot to rate it – yum!

  25. Dory says:

I loooove mango and strawberries so I found this one absolutely delicious. I even added some kale, passionfruit, and banana chunks! #Day2

  26. Eve says:

I love the strawberries and mango together. I’m not a huge almond milk fan but I think I will make this using coconut milk next time. I think there’s not a recipe from you that I don’t like!

    • SGS Rawkstar Jen says:

Awww! Thank you Eve! I love having you rawk out with us. 🙂

  27. Melanie says:

I loved it. Love strawberries in my smoothies + mango. Perfect.

  28. Maria Barrios says:

A little bit on the tart side for me, but very good.

  29. Erin says:

SO good! I did a little less liquid as I had to swap in cherries for the strawberries, and it was delicious.

  30. Lisa says:

This one was very tart even with the strawberries. I had to sweeten it a bit. Also harder to blend. Had to add a lot more liquid than recipe says.

  31. Amy B says:

Really good but i seem to like bananas in smoothies a little more

  32. Cristen says:

What is the swap for mango?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jen says:

You can swap with frozen peaches, pineapple or even banana.

  33. Mindy says:

    Simple yet satisfying!

  34. Alannah says:

A good smoothie for day 2 of the challenge. I love the combination of mango and strawberry and could taste the spinach more in this one, which is a good thing in my opinion.

  35. shannon says:

I wasn’t a fan of this one but maybe that is because I tried to double it and it was just too much. My kids wanted one as well so I tried to make it all at once. But I won’t be deterred. I will try again tomorrow!

  36. Sabrina Schroeder says:

This was my first smoothie with Strawberries. It was so creamy, it tasted like a Strawberry milkshake.

  37. paul bowers says:

So far on the 10 day Challenge, this is my favorite- easy to make and even easier to drink!

  38. Aja Holmes says:

This one is my favorite, I love the combination of strawberry and mango makes me feel like I’m on an island somewhere! I add a beet to all my smoothies get more veggies.,

  39. Jen Hart says:

The strawberries and mango are so fresh and summery tasting that this smoothie always makes me think of the beach. If haven’t made one before the flavors are strong enough you don’t have to worry you won’t like the spinach because you won’t even taste it. The almond milk one are more filling for me so total meal replacement esp if you throw in some sgs protein powder (which you can’t taste either!)

  40. Debbie; says:

This combination is a winner in my book

  41. Danna says:

    Like the strawberry addition!

  42. Claudia says:

Delicious and so filling. I even have my husband joining me on the 10 day challenge.

  43. Laura Perkins says:

Great tasting smoothies! I subbed Oat Milk for Almond Milk and it was delicious!

  44. Laura Hodges says:

    Day 2 Strawberry Mango
I added Kale to the spinach…I’m sticking with just spinach
    Love the Mango/Strawberry combo!!

  45. Andrea Enright says:

This could be better tweaked. Sure it’s good, but I’m looking for great! Mine mostly tasted of mango. My husband bought almond milk with sugar unknowingly and I tried the spinach and almond milk before I added the fruit. That was actually amazing and I will drink that daily. It had just the right amount of sugar and the almond with spinach was delish! Happy accident? Yes!

  46. Cristina Ribeiro says:

Good, thick, creamy, not very sweet

  47. Sloane Grey says:

I liked it, but my husband thought it was a little too green. We added banana and a little honey to make it sweeter, and he liked it!

  48. Kristi James says:

Day 2 of the 10 day challenge – I am giving this 4 stars because I loved it, my husband, not so much. LOL We added a little water to help with the blending and after a quick taste, we added 4 dates to our double recipe (2 dates each) to sweeten it ever so slightly. I feel great and am ready for more!

  49. Susan Smith says:

I agree with Lynne M. I used this as a dinner & dessert combo, so I wanted it to taste sweet, but it was not. However, somehow my sweet tooth was satisfied … completely – go figure!

  50. Elizabeth Reyes says:

    Delicious! Love this combination!

  51. Lynne Miles says:

This smoothie again easy to put together. I used frozen strawberries and frozen mango, which didn’t add the sweetness to this smoothie as one would like. Being a smoothie drinker I’d still drink it, but not a favorite.

That being said with fresh ripe strawberries and mangos I think this would be way better.
