Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients
Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:
- Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
- Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
- Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
- Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
- Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.
Recipe Tips
- Add a protein powder or try my homemade protein powder to give you long lasting energy without any sugar crash.
- Swap almond milk with any non-dairy milk like oat, soy, cashew, or coconut milk.
- Use one of my recommended blenders for smoothies to get the creamiest result.

Recipe Variations
- Protein boost: Add 1 serving of protein powder or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
- Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
- Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
- Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
- Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.
Storage Tips
Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

The smoothie was good. There is a hint cauliflower that comes through. Next time I’m going to only use 1 banana and add some more strawberries to try and cover up the cauliflower flavor more.
Yummy! I cut back a bit on the banana but that’s just my preference. The cauliflower upgraded my typical Strawberry banana smoothie. Will definitely do this again and again.
Yum, yum, yum! I added 1/4 cup of the protein powder too (hence the not so pink in the picture)
Yummy!!
Delicious! I was a bit suspicious of adding frozen cauliflower but couldn’t taste it at all!
I loved the pop of banana that came through. Next time, I’m gonna add cherries as well because it needed a little it more.
I love this creamy smoothie. All the flavors blend perfectly and so easy. I will definitely fix this one again.
Delicious, and the rich pink color is beautiful! Tastes like a strawberry milkshake, and it’s good for you.
Cheryl- I’m so glad you liked this Strawberry Banana smoothie! My favorite is the Chocolate Banana Smoothie, as I’m a fan of chocolate milkshakes myself. You should try it!
I forgot that cauliflower was in this smoothie until reviewing the recipe! (I pre-pack, hubby blends in the morning.) Tasty!
Hey Ester- Cauliflower can be so versatile, right? If you’re looking for another smoothie option with cauliflower, the sweet cantaloupe smoothie is a great option!
Pretty good. I think I used to much cauliflower
Probably a five if you do not add ‘cauliflower rice’ that you thought was unseasoned but on first taste note it is ‘roasted garlic cauliflower rice’ perhaps adds more nutrients but definitely distracts tastes more like a 1 but figure if appropriate ingredient a solid 4.
Oh no, Jason! I cannot imagine the garlicky surprise in your smoothie. Def better with plain cauliflower. 🙂
Love it! I did add a handful of spinach and used a rounded 1/4 cup of cauli rice. I also only used 1 banana and about 1.5 cups of strawberries. I also defrosted some of the strawberries, which increased their flavour. All in all, I could enjoy this one everyday as it’s super delicious!
Mild flavor and we liked the addition of cauliflower.
What a treat! Loved the color, taste and consistency! Reminded me of a strawberry milkshake. 🙂
This one is amazing! Children love it. Thank you
Yummy! My husband and I both loved this! We could not taste the cauliflower and it was delicious!
The cauliflower definitely spoiled it for me.
Fresh delicious easy flavor to drink
It was ok. I guess cauliflower changed the taste of usual strawberry banana smoothie
Great, Smooth, like the frozen strawberries in winter, taste better
