This strawberry mango smoothie shows how small upgrades can make a big difference. A handful of spinach slips right in, boosting nutrients while letting the sweet, tropical smoothie flavors of strawberries and mango shine. It’s an easy reminder that nourishing choices don’t have to be complicated—or change the taste you love.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Strawberries are packed with more vitamin C than oranges (yup!), plus fiber and natural sweetness. They’re low in sugar, help keep blood sugar steady, and swap easily into any berry smoothie.
  • Mango is sweet, juicy, and totally tropical. Rich in vitamin A and fiber, mango adds a creamy texture and instant island vibes to any smoothie.
  • This smoothie tastes bright, creamy, and lightly tropical. The almond milk keeps it mellow and creamy, and the spinach blends right in—no “green” taste at all.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie Ingredients

  • Fresh spinach: Mild and nutrient-packed; look for bright green leaves at your local grocery store or farmers’ market.
  • Unsweetened almond milk: Light and creamy with a subtle nutty flavor; opt for homemade almond milk to keep the ingredients minimal. Not gonna do it— I get it. Check out my guide on the best almond milk brands to buy. There are some great ones you can buy!
  • Frozen strawberries: Sweet and slightly tart; buy pre-frozen for convenience or freeze fresh berries for peak flavor.
  • Frozen mango: This fruit is naturally sweet and tropical. I usually buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s cheaper than my local grocery store. Yet if fresh is every on sale, you’ll see my in the kitchen cutting mango and freezing it.

Easy Swaps and Add-Ins

This recipe is fantastic as is, but here are some easy ways to mix it up and make it your own!

  • Add protein powder: Give your strawberry mango smoothie a boost of protein with my homemade protein powder recipe made with flax, hemp, and chia seeds.
  • Swap spinach: Use your favorite leafy green vegetables instead of spinach. Some of my favorite options to use are kale or chard.
  • Swap almond milk: Substitute almond milk with a non-dairy milk of your choosing.

Common Questions

Do strawberry and mango go together in a smoothie?

While bananas and pineapple are among the tropical fruits that pair well with mango and strawberry, the combination of mango and strawberry is truly superior. Mango’s natural sweetness and creamy texture create a thick, luscious smoothie, while strawberries add a refreshing, slightly tart contrast. Together, they make a perfectly balanced, flavorful blend—pure smoothie bliss!

What fruit blends well with mango?

Mango pairs well with many fruits, creating a balanced and flavorful blend. Strawberries add a refreshing tartness, while pineapple enhances its tropical sweetness. Bananas provide creaminess, peaches add a juicy mellow flavor, and oranges bring a citrusy kick. Coconut is another great pairing, complementing mango’s tropical notes. Whether you want sweet, creamy, or refreshing, mango is a versatile fruit that blends beautifully.

How many calories in a strawberry mango smoothie?

A strawberry mango smoothie made with 1 cup fresh spinach, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 cup frozen strawberries, and ½ cup frozen mango contains approximately 137 calories per serving. This smoothie is naturally low in fat, with 4g of protein, 26g of carbohydrates, and 6g of fiber, making it a nutrient-dense and refreshing option. Adding a serving of homemade protein powder will slightly increase the calorie count while boosting protein content.

This was very delicious with just the right ingredients. I will definitely make it again. I may make it with half frozen and half fresh strawberries.

Something went wrong with my smoothie today. I love strawberries so thought it would be fine to throw a few more in. My smoothie was way too thick, more like a gelato, which I really enjoyed and will recreate next summer.

  3. I didn’t like this one as well as the others, but I think it is because of the strawberries. Frozen strawberries always disappoint me. They are never as sweet and flavorful as fresh strawberries. It is seems they aren’t as ripe as they should be.

Really liked it as written then added a bit of cocoa powder for chocolate covered strawberry taste and it was even better.
    Loving them all so far!

The homemade protein powder makes this smoothie extra filling and thick. Mine wasn’t as pretty green as this, though 😉

I might sound like a total weirdo right now…but who cares! I only had chocolate almond milk, and it made my smoothie taste almost like a chocolate covered strawberry! I loved the tart flavor the strawberries and mango added to this smoothie (I’ll try this smoothie with regular almond milk soon lol)

This smoothie was ok. I might try coconut milk next time. I usually like mango and strawberry but it was missing something.

  8. Using both the frozen fruits made this too cold for us. I put it in the fridge for later and it was better to my taste anyway.
I have experienced all the smoothies so far as mildly sweet. Is that how Green Smoothies should be?

    1. Hi Wade! The ones that were chosen for the smoothie challenge are definitely on the sweeter size, I find that makes it a great way to get into green smoothies.

    LOOKS ARE ONLY SKIN DEEP!

That definitely holds true for this Smoothie. Combining the Green of Spinach, the Beige of Almond Milk, and the Red of Strawberries…. doesn’t result in the most beautiful color….. Luckily, that’s where it ends!

This drink is truly a creamy, and refreshing drink. The Strawberries aren’t overpowering and the ingredients are proportioned just right.

Another favorite. Replaced mango with pineapple due to allergies.
    Love tasting the strawberries. Delicious!

Enjoyed the mango strawberry combo. Haven’t had that in awhile. Delicious!
I did not use milk though, I used water and my vanilla proteini.

  14. The strawberry mango smoothie has a subtle sweet flavor I like but was so thick I had to add an additional 1/4 cup of almond milk to get it blended. I’m going to be sad to see this challenge come to an end.

I didn’t really care for this smoothie. I think if my fruit were fresh instead of frozen it would have been better. I also would have omitted the protein powder, personally.
