Grad stories
I'm sleeping better, I'm happier and have more energy.
I've been walking every day with my dog or by myself with a book and doing strength training, which feels great. I've lost 7 pounds and have a better outlook because I don't have as much inflammation and fatigue.

Grad stories
It has recruited my husband (big win).
I'm not a natural cook and it takes a lot of my energy to plan and prep… BUT when I prep several meals and have healthy options at the ready it feels so nice. Did I complete this cleanse? Heck no! It fell in a month where we had multiple kids home sick, snow days, and a trip. HOWEVER…

Grad stories
I feel like the best version of myself.
I got so many compliments about how I looked… not just about the weight-loss but about glowing skin. I feel like the best version of myself when I'm eating plant-based… and have this 21-day cleanse to thank for that!

Grad stories
I wish I had known about this in my 40's.
I am 69, and I can honestly say adopting this lifestyle would have saved years of misery and expense due to medical issues.

Grad stories
I've been changed for the better.
Now, I know what foods make me feel great and give me tons of energy. It's like I was a caterpillar that emerged from its cocoon and turned into a beautiful butterfly. I'm not looking back.
A note from Jen
If you’re on the fence, I was too
Would the recipes actually be good? Would I just bounce right back to my old habits? Was it worth eating 100% plant-based for three weeks? Then about eight days in, I was hooked. Less bloated. Sleeping like a rock. Energy through the roof.
Most cleanses end and leave you exactly where you started — or worse, hooked on a product you have to rebuy. This one is different on purpose: you learn to cook real food, so you walk away with skills that don’t run out when the box is empty.
And if you’re nervous about the food? Remember — this is literally what I do. I make plant-based food that’s so good you forget it’s “healthy.” Because healthy should be tasty.

Not likely. The recipe portions are deliberately generous to accommodate even the largest appetites. This is not a starvation diet, it is a celebration of food, flavor, and abundance. We are not counting calories. You will be eating three to five times each day (breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner, if you choose to.) This cleanse is not designed to starve you, and you’re not limited in the number of times you eat, or the amount you eat – only in what you eat. If you do get hunger pangs, make sure that you’re really hungry, and not just bored or thirsty. If it’s a case of real hunger, go for one of the bonus snack recipes, a piece of fruit, or a small handful of nuts, or seeds. One tip to avoid hunger is to chew your green smoothie. This may sound silly, but the chewing action signals your body that food is on the way, and triggers the digestive processes.
Nope — and that’s the whole point. This cleanse runs entirely on real food you buy at your regular grocery store. No proprietary box, no capsules, no subscription. You’ll learn to cook with whole ingredients so your results actually last once the 21 days are up.
You may have many of the staple ingredients in your kitchen already (avocado oil, raw cashews, maple syrup, ground cumin, nutritional yeast, coconut oil, etc). If you do not, the first shop typically costs about $150. Then, once your kitchen is set up, we estimate the cost of the produce to be between $100 per week. If you choose to supplement the plant-based recipes with high quality animal protein like organic chicken breast or cage free eggs, your grocery bill will be higher.
And remember — you’re buying real groceries, not a $400+ box of powders you’ll run out of. Most of this is food you’d be shopping for anyway, just put to much better use.
If you struggle with getting quality sleep, we advise omitting coffee throughout the cleanse. You will get the best results and many cleanse grads choose to stay off coffee after the cleanse because they feel so great. If you and coffee aren’t ready to break up, we suggest having just one cup in the morning to support quality rest and sleep.
If you want the full benefit of cleansing your body, stick with the plan as close as possible. Our detox meals are crafted by our holistic nutritionist for optimal cleansing. This is not a vacation, it’s a cleanse. Yet of course if you truly cannot stand cilantro, turmeric or fennel, you can substitute them out for something you do enjoy, or choose another meal.
Of course— life must go on! The 21-Day Cleanse is a flexible program that you can follow while living your life with family and friends. Using the weekly meal plans and recipes will help you get great results. But, you can still get good results by sticking to the recommended foods lists. You can eat “off meal plan”, eat out, and travel during the program— feel free to ask for tips inside the community to help you the most.
You may experience short-term symptoms like: headaches, bloating, muscle cramps, skin irritations, fatigue, irritability, mood swings, or change in bowel frequency. These symptoms are completely normal and expected.
It usually takes between 2-5 days to complete the withdrawal phase of the 21-Day Cleanse, yet it’s absolutely worth it. Giving your body a break from stimulants will allow your organs to heal and your body to recharge fully. Remember, these symptoms are proof that the cleanse is working and your body is getting the care it needs.
You’ll definitely spend more time in the kitchen throughout the cleanse. In some ways, this is like a crash course plant-based cooking school. I highly suggest following our prep guide to make most of the smoothies, snacks and meals over the weekend. Breakfast is a smoothie (10 minutes), lunch is a reheated soup or quick salad (15 minutes) and dinners will range from 15 minutes – 1 hour to prepare. The good news is, the dinners repeat so you make once and reheat for another evening to give you a break in the kitchen.
We know all about busy schedules here, which is why we’ve provided a weekend prep guide that saves you tons of time during the week. If you’re working and have a full schedule, expect to spend 3-4 hours shopping and prepping on the weekends to make each cleanse week stress-free and enjoyable. The cleanse gives you a wonderful opportunity to really listen to your body. It’s an individual experience that differs for everyone. Depending on the level of toxicity in your body, there may be some less- than-amazing symptoms in the first 3–5 days, such as headaches, nausea, fatigue, skin irritations, etc. Once you hit day five, these should only be distant memories, and you’ll be well on your way to greatness. But some people sail through the entire cleansing period with no side effects at all. You may feel amazing throughout the entire cleanse, or your energy may wax and wane a little.
This cleanse is great for most people, yet you should avoid cleansing in the following situations: advanced cancer, under 16 years of age, if you have an eating disorder, kidney or liver disease, and if you’re underweight. If you have a blood sugar regulation issue (diabetes, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia) or any other medical condition, you should seek your doctor’s advice before undertaking a cleanse. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you can absolutely do the cleanse with some modifications. If this is you, let us know and we can give you specific tweaks to the program to make sure you’re benefitting your baby and body.
You may find that you have more energy than normal—and more motivation! Why waste it? Get moving! Be mindful that you may need to take it down a notch though as your body adjust to the new way of eating. If you normally exercise fairly intensely, reduce your output until you feel strong and energized.
If you don’t normally work out, you would do well to include some regular walking, yoga, swimming or gardening during this time. Try to sneak in some incidental exercise, such as getting off the train or bus one or two stops early and walking the rest of the way. Or park further away from the entrance to the grocery store and walk.
Absolutely. My husband loves our cleanses — the clear plans, the tasty recipes, and how good he feels by the end. Just double the grocery list and recipes so there’s enough for you both.
We offer a 7-day money back guarantee. Enroll now and get 7 days to go through the Week 1 Nutrition Plan, share it with your doctor, try a recipe or three, and say hello to your fellow cleansers in the private support group. If you decide it’s not for you, send us an email within 7 days of purchase and I’ll refund you. I’m that confident that when you commit to this cleanse, you’ll see results… and keep them going. You have nothing to lose but so much to gain when you go plant-based for 21 days.
Reviews
What grads say after 21 days of real food.
I joined the cleanse as a re-set and to assist with losing weight! I feel proud of myself for what I did, but I struggled to stay on my meal plan all the time during weeks 2 and 3, with lots of events happening. However, I’m glad I was able to refrain from coffee and that I committed to meal prepping on Sundays, and even making it work during the week when I couldn’t do much prep the weekend before. I also lost some weight!
I have not started the cleanse yet; moving and hoping to start on the next week when settled.
The biggest surprise for me in doing the cleanse was the realization that when you eat nutritionally dense food your body doesn’t crave anything. I was able to sit with people who were eating all my favorite foods – chocolate, ice cream, chips – and not feel the slightest need to reach for it or take a bite. I stuck to the cleanse except for a couple of bites of pizza that my son made in his new ooni but didn’t feel like I needed to eat anymore. The meals were delicious and filling – I was never hungry and I usually skipped the snacks because I wasn’t hungry. Eating these foods, drinking a lot of water and sleeping well really boosted my energy. I also lost 5 pounds ! At the end of week 2, I was really missing texture so I welcomed the hummus with carrot sticks in week 3 ! The cleanse made me realize that alot of my snacking was just due to boredom and not hunger and that my cravings for something sweet or salty were signs of some nutrient deficiency in my body. Going forward I will definitely be incorporating the DeTox tea and many of the smoothies into my morning routine. . Thank you for a wonderful experience. I look forward to the next cleanse!
Seems like many of us WANT to do better with how we fuel our bodies, but being alone in that quest is often difficult. I really like this cleanse because of all the HELP, from daily menu plans, to shopping lists and recipes, to fun and encouraging online support 24/7! Plus it is ALL whole and satisfying foods, not anything quirky or fad-ish. This is the second time I have done this cleanse and I will return again. I do them to help get myself back into healthier habits, create some new habits & explore different, unique recipes and flavor combinations. I went into this cleanse after many months of travelling & indulgence, so I was determined and it seemed fairly easy for me this time. I lost 4 pounds (not my main goal, but nice), my skin felt smoother, perfect “regularity” and I just had a greater sense of “well-being.” I loved hearing about the same journey in other homes, lives and circumstances. It’s inspiring to hear stories of how people creatively navigate office parties, restaurant outings with friends, missing ingredients or an abundance of left-overs! Thank you ALL for making this a rewarding experience for me!
I do the cleanse to reset great eating habits and to get rock-solid sleep! It’s amazing the solid sleep I get when I’m off of sugar, caffeine and alcohol! I’ve done 2 cleanses a year for the last two years and don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. I highly recommend it for anyone on the fence- you’ll be fully supported and just have to follow recipes and prep. I’m to the point where I can navigate through easy and wing some of it knowing I have a few old cleanse-friendly favorite recipes! Plus I’ve made some long term changes over the years and have drastically reduced my overall intake of sugars, caffeine, and red meat! *I modify cleanse by adding in egg and chicken for additional protein since I continue my active lifestyle of biking and running.
I’ve been cleaning with Simple Green Smoothies for years and always enjoy the process. I use many of the recipes in my weekly meals, they are that good! Whenever I go fully plant based and follow the cleanse I feel lighter, have more energy and my sleep is amazing! The support through the community is one of my favorite things. Everyone is kind, encouraging and lots of fun!
I want to say that the last 21 days was all butterflies and daisies but that would be a total lie. It was not! To all of you who took the time to support me and keep me going, I want to say thank you for all of your support. It made a huge difference in my journey. I will tell you that I did not make the whole 21 days cleanly. But I didn’t quit, even though I wanted to and often looked for reasons to quit. What did happen is that I discovered a lot about myself, that I sort of knew, but was finally ‘in my face’ clear now. I am a caffeine addict. Or I should say I was. The Lemon/Ginger tea. got me through the caffeine withdrawals. I am still drinking this morning drink, even as I write this. It wakes me up and got me moving every day of the 21 days. I started this at the beginning and will not stop now. I suffered with caffeine headaches through the first 2 weeks of the cleanse. Nothing seemed to help until one day I woke up without my head hurting. The strange thing was that it took me half a day to notice that my head was not hurting. Looking back, I realized that each day, the headache got a little better, until it slowly disappeared. When it was gone, I made up my mind to not let that happen again. Don’t get me wrong, I love coffee and tea, but I cleaned out my house of all caffeinated coffees and teas and replaced them with herbal and decaffeinated choices. I NEVER want to go through those two weeks again. I have made a lot of changes during these three weeks. I am a farmer and raise all my own vegetables. While I added vegetables to each and every meal I prepared for my family, I did not add them in the quantity that I have eaten during this time. I discovered that when I add more vegetables to my daily intake, my body works better than without. Not just the daily bathroom breaks, but with things like adding more greens has helped with the memory mind fog that I have been having. I’m 71 and have been told by doctors, friends and loved ones that I am just getting older, and that mind fog is normal as I age. Well guess what! Since adding my homemade green powder to just about everything that I am eating, the mind fog has diminished. I still forget things here and there, but not nearly as much as I was. I have now taken to making up my own green powder capsules. I take one each morning and I really do feel mentally sharper. So, in the end, my final review of the 21-Day Cleanse is this: It was rough. I wanted to quit several times and did quit every day. And each day, I would look back at what I did accomplish and realize that quitting would cost me money, time, pain and effort that I have already spent. It would be wasted. As I am on a fixed income, I can’t afford to waste anything. So, I would pick myself back up with the support of everyone here that was cheering me on and get back to it. I did not follow the plan as written. But with the help and support of the staff, I learned to adapt, change and make this program one that I could live with. I lost 8 pounds (which I needed to do) and lowered my fasting blood sugar by a whopping 76 points! (Bonus!) Would I do this again? No! Because it was so rough, I do not want to do it again. But because it was so rough, I don’t want to lose the changes I have learned that are helping me, so I don’t think that I will stop the positive changes that I have learned. But if I find that I am starting to back slide again. I hope I am smart enough to pull out all the documentation from this program and start it again. Because I know, if necessary, I can do it again. I did it already.
This year has been such a roller coaster full of emotions from experiencing my first loss in the family, always putting my family before myself, and the work load that is never ending from being a stay at home mom.. I needed something to look forward to while at the same time was good for my overall health. I wanted to reset my health for success. To kind of end 2023 with a whole new mind set of cleansing my relationship I had with food. I was excited and motivated to begin this new venture for myself. I loved every step of making the snacks and meals throughout the week. From the shopping, the prepping and cooking.. it was therapy for my soul and mental health. It was becoming a habit and a good one at that. I was more aware of what these meals were doing for me physically and emotionally. I slept better and woke up with great energy to begin my day. My thoughts weren’t as cloudy, I wasn’t as moody as before. I also was able to put in sweat and sign up for indoor cycling. Everyday I was confident in how I was feeling and it felt amazing. I’ve noticed my skin was clearing up and my face had that glow up. What I’m most proud of myself through out the cleanse was showing up and never quitting. Pushing myself to stay on track and not giving in. I’d recommend this cleanse to anyone who’d want to reset their health. I also will continue to partake in this cleanse next year as a tradition because my body/health deserves to. 🙂
Love this cleanse/diet. Everything is yummy and I’m never starving. Lots of variety. Love all the work that’s been done for me beforehand.
I’ve been whole food plant-based for a couple of years. After a rather traumatic surgery a year ago, I fell off the wagon so to speak and gained quite a bit of weight. This was a good jumpstart back into that way of life. A way to focus on things I already know, I just lost my way. I found the recipe simple and for the most part delicious. I tend to be a spicy person and I felt that they were a bit bland. I don’t mean spicy as in hot I just mean I like a lot of flavor. That’s the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five. But with some improvision, I was able to get that flavor I was looking for. There were a few recipes over the last three weeks that were new to me and absolutely wonderful. They will become a part of my future cooking. Thank you so much for creating this program.
I love this cleanse!!!! This was my 3rd cleanse with SGS and as in previous cleanses, I was very pleased with the food, the meal plan, the shopping guide and the online community support. I’ve tried a lot of recipes from SGS at this point, and found even more new recipes that I know I will make again! My favorites from this cleanse were the Raspberry Orange Smoothie, Pineapple Detox Smoothie, Jen’s Coconut Granola, Coconut Berry Popsicles, Carrot Ginger Soup, and the Garden Stir Fry. This cleanse was so easy to follow! Doing the prep for the week on Sunday really helped. This was the first time that I made the smoothie packs, and that was a definite time saver. I also found that the food was varied enough that I never really had any major cravings, which is crazy for me! I always want chocolate and I only found that I was craving chocolate once and then had the spiced almond milk and that took care of that. I also found that I was not hungry at all. On some days I forced myself to eat dinner just to make sure I didn’t have a drop in blood sugar that would mess with my cravings, but I was surprised out how satisfied I was the food and my hunger levels. I’m typically always hungry and a big snacker. I feel great here on day 19 and have felt great for most of the cleanse. I’m experiencing higher energy levels, clearer skin, much less bloating and I don’t have to take antacid most days like I do when I’m eating less clean. I also have seen a drop in blood pressure. And a bonus is that I’ve lost at least 7 pounds! I’m proud of myself for taking the time to focus on healthier eating habits and that I was able to stick with the cleanse plan even with some scheduling challenges with work and social events where there were temptations to eat donuts, cheesecake, steak and creme brulee. In those cases I had planned ahead and brough my smoothies and snacks so I didn’t feel like I was depriving myself.
I started for breaking bad habits and it did. Wow And craving for sweet disappear. I am so amazed…but it is true it does go away. I am so proud and I just want to continue. Thanks so much I sleep like a baby and I started to notice that the pain in my finger joints is less.
I participated in this fall’s cleanse as I enjoyed the program last year and had good results. Over the year, some of my good eating habits/intentions slipped so I saw the cleanse as an opportunity to refocus on my health and get back on track. I found the cleanse easy to do once food prep is completed for each week. It helped immensely having shopping lists, recipes, and all meals and snacks programmed, took out the guess work about what I should eat. The recipes are easy to follow and the end results are very tasty. I found that I was never hungry on this program as long as I didn’t skip snacks or meals. The portions are very generous so I did find myself freezing some of the leftovers. I have alot more energy, sleeping better, and experiencing less cravings for salt, sugar, and carbs. Due to my schedule this year, it has been more difficult for me to meal prep and plan than it was last year, but I am sticking with it with an occasional modification and I’m still seeing great results! I’m proud of myself for participating in the cleanse even though the timing has been difficult this year and I started later than the initial dates. Great program!
We joined to help my husband heal from issues of poor medicine given to him. We also wanted to shake up our routine and multiply the plants we were eating. It helped a lot! My husband has lost 10 lbs, and he looks like he did when I first met him. We both have more energy and look and feel better. I don’t believe he has had reduced angina like last time (we are getting help for this, fyi), but he feels a lot better.
I honestly didn’t think I had it in me to continue on with a long cleanse! The support of the admin and especially those that are going through the cleanse has been incredibly inspiring! Some days were easier than others the days that I struggled I knew I could show my vulnerability with the group and they would lift me up! Having an autoimmune disease in itself is a struggle always looking for a hurdle to get over. Feeding my body with greens consistently and the benefits I reap is what this cleanse taught me! I am most proud of myself for going the distance given the swap outs I was able to make it work for ME! I truly appreciate all that this company and network stand for……. We all succeed with their attitudes 🩷 Best wishes to everyone on your continued search for good health! Michelle Boyer
