Grad stories
I'm sleeping better, I'm happier and have more energy.
I've been walking every day with my dog or by myself with a book and doing strength training, which feels great. I've lost 7 pounds and have a better outlook because I don't have as much inflammation and fatigue.

Grad stories
It has recruited my husband (big win).
I'm not a natural cook and it takes a lot of my energy to plan and prep… BUT when I prep several meals and have healthy options at the ready it feels so nice. Did I complete this cleanse? Heck no! It fell in a month where we had multiple kids home sick, snow days, and a trip. HOWEVER…

Grad stories
I feel like the best version of myself.
I got so many compliments about how I looked… not just about the weight-loss but about glowing skin. I feel like the best version of myself when I'm eating plant-based… and have this 21-day cleanse to thank for that!

Grad stories
I wish I had known about this in my 40's.
I am 69, and I can honestly say adopting this lifestyle would have saved years of misery and expense due to medical issues.

Grad stories
I've been changed for the better.
Now, I know what foods make me feel great and give me tons of energy. It's like I was a caterpillar that emerged from its cocoon and turned into a beautiful butterfly. I'm not looking back.
A note from Jen
If you’re on the fence, I was too
Would the recipes actually be good? Would I just bounce right back to my old habits? Was it worth eating 100% plant-based for three weeks? Then about eight days in, I was hooked. Less bloated. Sleeping like a rock. Energy through the roof.
Most cleanses end and leave you exactly where you started — or worse, hooked on a product you have to rebuy. This one is different on purpose: you learn to cook real food, so you walk away with skills that don’t run out when the box is empty.
And if you’re nervous about the food? Remember — this is literally what I do. I make plant-based food that’s so good you forget it’s “healthy.” Because healthy should be tasty.

Not likely. The recipe portions are deliberately generous to accommodate even the largest appetites. This is not a starvation diet, it is a celebration of food, flavor, and abundance. We are not counting calories. You will be eating three to five times each day (breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner, if you choose to.) This cleanse is not designed to starve you, and you’re not limited in the number of times you eat, or the amount you eat – only in what you eat. If you do get hunger pangs, make sure that you’re really hungry, and not just bored or thirsty. If it’s a case of real hunger, go for one of the bonus snack recipes, a piece of fruit, or a small handful of nuts, or seeds. One tip to avoid hunger is to chew your green smoothie. This may sound silly, but the chewing action signals your body that food is on the way, and triggers the digestive processes.
Nope — and that’s the whole point. This cleanse runs entirely on real food you buy at your regular grocery store. No proprietary box, no capsules, no subscription. You’ll learn to cook with whole ingredients so your results actually last once the 21 days are up.
You may have many of the staple ingredients in your kitchen already (avocado oil, raw cashews, maple syrup, ground cumin, nutritional yeast, coconut oil, etc). If you do not, the first shop typically costs about $150. Then, once your kitchen is set up, we estimate the cost of the produce to be between $100 per week. If you choose to supplement the plant-based recipes with high quality animal protein like organic chicken breast or cage free eggs, your grocery bill will be higher.
And remember — you’re buying real groceries, not a $400+ box of powders you’ll run out of. Most of this is food you’d be shopping for anyway, just put to much better use.
If you struggle with getting quality sleep, we advise omitting coffee throughout the cleanse. You will get the best results and many cleanse grads choose to stay off coffee after the cleanse because they feel so great. If you and coffee aren’t ready to break up, we suggest having just one cup in the morning to support quality rest and sleep.
If you want the full benefit of cleansing your body, stick with the plan as close as possible. Our detox meals are crafted by our holistic nutritionist for optimal cleansing. This is not a vacation, it’s a cleanse. Yet of course if you truly cannot stand cilantro, turmeric or fennel, you can substitute them out for something you do enjoy, or choose another meal.
Of course— life must go on! The 21-Day Cleanse is a flexible program that you can follow while living your life with family and friends. Using the weekly meal plans and recipes will help you get great results. But, you can still get good results by sticking to the recommended foods lists. You can eat “off meal plan”, eat out, and travel during the program— feel free to ask for tips inside the community to help you the most.
You may experience short-term symptoms like: headaches, bloating, muscle cramps, skin irritations, fatigue, irritability, mood swings, or change in bowel frequency. These symptoms are completely normal and expected.
It usually takes between 2-5 days to complete the withdrawal phase of the 21-Day Cleanse, yet it’s absolutely worth it. Giving your body a break from stimulants will allow your organs to heal and your body to recharge fully. Remember, these symptoms are proof that the cleanse is working and your body is getting the care it needs.
You’ll definitely spend more time in the kitchen throughout the cleanse. In some ways, this is like a crash course plant-based cooking school. I highly suggest following our prep guide to make most of the smoothies, snacks and meals over the weekend. Breakfast is a smoothie (10 minutes), lunch is a reheated soup or quick salad (15 minutes) and dinners will range from 15 minutes – 1 hour to prepare. The good news is, the dinners repeat so you make once and reheat for another evening to give you a break in the kitchen.
We know all about busy schedules here, which is why we’ve provided a weekend prep guide that saves you tons of time during the week. If you’re working and have a full schedule, expect to spend 3-4 hours shopping and prepping on the weekends to make each cleanse week stress-free and enjoyable. The cleanse gives you a wonderful opportunity to really listen to your body. It’s an individual experience that differs for everyone. Depending on the level of toxicity in your body, there may be some less- than-amazing symptoms in the first 3–5 days, such as headaches, nausea, fatigue, skin irritations, etc. Once you hit day five, these should only be distant memories, and you’ll be well on your way to greatness. But some people sail through the entire cleansing period with no side effects at all. You may feel amazing throughout the entire cleanse, or your energy may wax and wane a little.
This cleanse is great for most people, yet you should avoid cleansing in the following situations: advanced cancer, under 16 years of age, if you have an eating disorder, kidney or liver disease, and if you’re underweight. If you have a blood sugar regulation issue (diabetes, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia) or any other medical condition, you should seek your doctor’s advice before undertaking a cleanse. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you can absolutely do the cleanse with some modifications. If this is you, let us know and we can give you specific tweaks to the program to make sure you’re benefitting your baby and body.
You may find that you have more energy than normal—and more motivation! Why waste it? Get moving! Be mindful that you may need to take it down a notch though as your body adjust to the new way of eating. If you normally exercise fairly intensely, reduce your output until you feel strong and energized.
If you don’t normally work out, you would do well to include some regular walking, yoga, swimming or gardening during this time. Try to sneak in some incidental exercise, such as getting off the train or bus one or two stops early and walking the rest of the way. Or park further away from the entrance to the grocery store and walk.
Absolutely. My husband loves our cleanses — the clear plans, the tasty recipes, and how good he feels by the end. Just double the grocery list and recipes so there’s enough for you both.
We offer a 7-day money back guarantee. Enroll now and get 7 days to go through the Week 1 Nutrition Plan, share it with your doctor, try a recipe or three, and say hello to your fellow cleansers in the private support group. If you decide it’s not for you, send us an email within 7 days of purchase and I’ll refund you. I’m that confident that when you commit to this cleanse, you’ll see results… and keep them going. You have nothing to lose but so much to gain when you go plant-based for 21 days.
Reviews
What grads say after 21 days of real food.
Life-changing way to eat + live
I did my first cleanse in 2013 and it was rough! I’d never done anything like this and am a slightly picky eater… so most of the food was new to me. Yet 8 years later I look forward to doing this cleanse more and more each year. Sometimes I do the whole plan for 21 days sometimes I lighten it up by doing smoothies + snacks then eating a healthier yet not full cleanse dinner… you really can make it work for you. This cleanse has helped me out of emotional slumps start postpartum weight loss resolve my acne issues and just gives me a good reset when I need it. I’ve learned what I love and how to thrive during this cleanse with all my fave recipes. It is seriously life-changing… I definitely don’t eat the same way in general than I did 8 years ago and smoothies + cleanses are the reason why! I crave healthy meals and snacks now.
My Go-to
When I feel like I am off the rails nutritionally I turn to the 3 week cleanse. And the Autumn Cleanse has been the best one yet. Yes, it is a lot of prep work. But that focus on having to think through the prep, how to shop, what the next meals is…is part of why this works for me. The meals are delicious and I was never hungry. Sure I missed my nightly glass of wine, but the best part of the cleanse for me is that after 3 days I stop craving caffeine, sugar, and carbs. The social community and support from Jen and team really keeps the energy up and the focus on. My plans is to generally follow the plan for the rest of the year to get through the holidays without losing control, but still enjoying the great food that comes with the holidays. I lost 5 pounds and hope to lose 5 more.
Enjoyed my first ever cleanse. I’ve tried before to give up refined sugar and lower my caffeine intake, but it just didn’t last. Being in this group made me accountable and all the support kept me going even when I was tempted to quit. The meal plans are delicious and relatively easy to prepare. Jen and her staff have done a phenomenal job of putting together a program that is healthy and satisfying. Having the meal plan and shopping list each week are golden! I always try to eat healthfully, but get into a rut. Having a library of delicious recipes is so helpful. As someone with food intolerances, having lists of substitutions and alternate meals that were cleanse friendly made a huge difference in my success. All in all, it was a great experience. I am looking forward to keeping up the work I’ve started. Thank you Jen and staff for a wonderful program and thanks to my new Facebook buddies.
Life Changing
I am so amazed by the Autumn Cleanse! I started the cleanse to help with transitioning to a plant based lifestyle. I tried other apps and books, but none of them lasted for more than a few days. When I started the Simple Green Smoothies Autumn Cleanse, I immediately noticed the difference and knew that I could make the change. The food is so good! I was never hungry. I actually had more food than I could eat, which I shared with my daughter. She loved the Abrosia and Rawsome Tacos, and asked for me to make them again. As an added bonus, I lost weight, felt lighter on my feet, my joints stopped creaking, I gained so much energy, and started sleeping through the night. This cleanse showed me how to make the change and I am so grateful.
Finally found the eat style that suits my life style!
In May of 2021 it was determined emergency surgery was needed to remove what appeared to be a bowel obstruction resulting in the removal of a tumor and 10 inches of the lower intestine. Intro to this I have been in and out of the emergency room for 18months with what was thought to be IBS resulting in constant nonstop indigestion heartburn severe abdominal pain and an inability to lead an active life and my only relief was a morphine drip. Once my surgery was done I was so relieved and I thought all my symptoms would go away but they did not. For the first time in my life I said *f*it – I ate and drank whatever I wanted chewed antacids like candy daily and my weight ballooned my mood darkened and general unhappiest. Six months later heading back to my 20 year yoga practice and teacher training I was determined to find something authentic and marry practice what you preach. Along came the 21day cleanse and thought what the hell on with the show. First three days where unbearably hard and I put myself to bed at 7pm every night Chopping and cooking were ridiculously but I survived and enlisted whole foods and a perfect friend to help me prep and cook! My weight was stubborn and refused to move the scale; however my bloating in my stomach went down considerably encouraging me to stay the course, I have not taken any medications regarding my IBS zero heartburn indigestion or stomach disharmony (except for vegan has cakes). Which is a win that my body is becoming fine-tuned and I know exactly what caused the issue, On day 12 my scale gave min and moved 6.6 pounds, I have pep in my step, Have gotten off the couch and over my pity paRawk the Year Mood has lightened – some sense of humor has returned, I no longer feel heavy in my heart and joints Proud of myself for staying the course and not giving up on myself, Zero I mean ZERO sugar cravings, Loved the Facebook page and coaching support during the process This biggest win was moving through my teacher training this weekend with authentic purpose, Looking forward to the joining the Rawkstar community and the next 90 days. With much gratitude and humble heart xo T
I did it!
I started with the summer cleanse which is only a week, this was definitely a bigger commitment but I did it! Even week 3 I was thinking about the food I was missing but now that I’m at the end, I’m not really sure I want to introduce “old” foods quite yet…! You really do change habits in 21 days! I really appreciated the community support in the FB group, it kept me motivated and inspired. I’ve got lots of new recipes to include in my weekly plan that I may not have tried otherwise, thanks for a great cleanse!!
Plant Based Success!
This was a mission I knew would challenge me but really get me focused and in the right mindset. It was extremely helpful to have the menu/meal plans, grocery shopping lists, and recipes to make planning and prepping so easy. Within just a few days, I was already noticing changes in my energy and focus, my body & skin, who knew it was just the beginning. After 2 weeks my body felt a renewal and reset. I didn’t feel my body was inflamed and I was moving so freely when practicing yoga. Overall, it was renewed self awareness and tremendous accomplishment. I look forward to maintaining this lifestyle, but allowing myself to enjoy foods I love from time to time. I’m happy my husband decided to join me on this journey.
This cleanse works, but most importantly it tastes good! This is my second cleanse…meaning I did one and WILLINGLY chose to do another (and will continue doing them). I was fully prepared to HATE not eating meat, cheese, and bread for 21 days. I was fully prepared to tell everybody how disgusting and boring eating lettuce and nuts was for 21 days. I expected to lose weight because how could you not only eating bird food?! And I expected to be hungry…a lot. I was wrong…so freaking wrong! These recipes are delicious! Ok, not every single one, but like 95% of them. They are flavorful and filling! And there’s so much food! I eat more on these cleanses than I do regularly. The difference is on the cleanse I eat wholesome, clean, nutritious food. If you’re open, and willing to give them a chance (make the recipes even if you think you won’t like it or that it surely won’t taste good), I PROMISE you will surprise yourself. I wouldn’t put half of these food combos together, but that’s the best part: you don’t have to, they do it for you. You only have to enjoy. Honestly, the worst part is the prep! Prepare to do A TON of cutting, chopping, cooking, and cleaning. You will do this EVERY day and it will get tiresome, but stick with it. The results are worth it! I haven’t weighed myself this cleanse (I always wait until the next day), but the last one I lost 12 lbs and I didn’t workout, not even once! I have so much energy (not immediately, but it will come)! Prior to any cleanses, my body used to basically REQUIRE a daily nap, now it’s only optional and if I don’t take one, I’m still fine. My blood pressure is even lower, like even lower than a normal reading! I didn’t experience any withdrawal symptoms during either cleanse (e.g., headaches), but I don’t drink coffee or soda and I try to limit my sugar intake (but don’t get me wrong, cheesecake is my absolute weakness and I have been known to down a whole pint of B&J’s ice cream in a single sitting). I also drink a gallon of water, daily (been doing that for practically my whole life). If you can’t relate to those things, I’d say expect major headaches, but as your body adjusts they will subside. Did I miss meat, cheese, and bread? KALE YES! My first cleanse, I missed meat so much I was actually very grumpy/angry all of Week 2. I still missed them this cleanse, but I didn’t want to kill anybody. Do I still eat those things? KALE YES (I’m so excited for Thanksgiving)! But, I’m learning to incorporate more plant-based meals that don’t feel restrictive. I highly recommend this cleanse! If you don’t believe me, do it for that exact reason, to prove that I must be crazy (and trust me when I first started, a known carnivore, I thought I was crazy). Happy Rawking!
My first cleanse was fall 2020, when I was able to give up coffee. After the spring cleanse I have been 99% dairy free (I still find it hard tp pass up a really good pice of cheese). I eat a plant based diet five days out of seven. I feel better, less bloated and fewer aches. The cleanse recipes are good and easy to prepare. The best thing is the support you get from the group. You know you are not going it alone.
After participating in several of Simple Green Smoothies challenges, I decided to join Rawk the Year and participate in the Autumn Cleanse. My goal was to reduce my daily caffeine consumption as well as tame my sweet tooth. The plan was very well laid out, the recipes were delicious, and the encouragement and support from Jen and her staff was phenomenal. I loved the shopping list and the ability to adjust the serving size of each recipe so easily. Because I have several food intolerances, it was wonderful to have a list of substitutions available as well as a list of alternate recipes to choose from. The support group was an added benefit. It was nice to be able to check in each day and read posts from others in the group. Everyone was so encouraging and supportive which made all the difference. Even though I made the decision to have 1 cup of 1/2 caf green tea each morning instead of going cold turkey, I was compliant with not having any refined sugar. I feel I have more energy and am proud that I was able to stick with the program. I have tried to eat healthfully for years and have been moving towards a whole food, plant based diet, but it is not always easy to go it alone. Jen lays out a workable plan that is so easy and enjoyable to use. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make a positive and healthy change. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity to grow and learn.
Autumn Cleanse
I signed up with Jen’s SGS awhile ago now. I would see the cleanses and think “yeah, right”. This year, I decided to go for it because my energy was terrible & my diet was worse. Really hadn’t ever eaten so poorly in terms of processed, microwave meals or some cheese & crackers. I also had this weird mindset that a meal couldn’t be satisfying without meat. Logically, I knew this was false, but in practice, couldn’t get past that. So I signed up hoping for energy & to maintain a higher veggie content in my diet. I’m still dragging. That was the bad. The ugly was never being able to get in enough water, but running to the bathroom all the time anyway-makes work a little tough at times! My poo also changed; probably a good thing but…yeah…ugly. The good-decreased pain. I’ve never been able to sustain a reasonable bedtime and that has changed with the cleanse. I definitely sleep better. Both subjectively & based on data from a sleep app. A surprise was a change in the way I get hungry. For many years, I don’t get really hungry-not like I did when I was a kid-and I don’t get really full. On the cleanse, I felt comfortably full & by the time I was due for a snack, I was a bit peckish & hungry when it was time for a meal. It was as if my body had just the right amount of food for that segment of the day & then it was time to refuel. It was really really pleasant. To me, none of the recipes were bad, but the number that were truly delicious kind of surprised me (sorry to admit that!). I mostly stuck to the plan as it was. Occasionally, I had an extra apple or an extra couple bites of quinoa (but not during week 2). Had no idea I could go without coffee. I didn’t miss it to the degree I thought I would. I was also surprised how pampering the cleanse felt. Someone telling me what to eat, roughly when to eat, how to shop & how much to get, & instructions how to prepare the meal—THAT was truly decadent. Not having to think yet still get a nutrient-packed, fiber-rich, flavorful meal? Wow! Definitely made me feel pampered & a little lost now that it’s done. Glad I did it. You may see me again for another cleanse-maybe I’ll even set up a FB account. Thank you for all the effort & dedication to bring this to others, Jen & team. Kindest regards, Cory
I would definitely recommend this cleanse for anyone who wants to detox. It was easy to follow and the recipes provided were very good. I did lose a few pounds and definitely felt energized and had a clearer mind. It was easier for me to make substitutions having purchased a hard copy of the Fresh Start book, which was my bible during the cleanse. I appreciated the online support, but it was not essential to my success with the cleanse. Living in a colder climate, I appreciated having options for warmer foods. I enjoyed most of the smoothies, and discovered I prefer the spinach smoothies over the kale smoothies. I never felt hungry during the cleanse. I never had cravings. The worse part for me were the first three days, having headaches and feeling tired. Also, I am not a fan spending a lot of time in the kitchen, so the food prep suggestions were helpful. It definitely felt more expensive to eat clean, but because I wasn’t buying any expensive meat it probably actually wasn’t more expensive. I live n a rural community, so I dd have to order online for some items, and appreciate Jen’s suggestions on Amazon. I definitely learned a lot about foods that I had never tried before. A concern I have is that I read that people with high cholesterol, like myself, might not want to use coconut oil. I never knew that. Olive oil and sunflower oil are recommended for people with high cholesterol levels. Olive oil for sautéed foods and sunflower for stir frying.
Mission Accomplished!!

My new healthy eating habit!
I can’t believe I have been able to give up caffeine meat dairy and sugar. I have stuck with the cleanse even while going through a divorce Covid scare and cancer scare. I feel empowered by the fact that I have been able to take control of my eating habits and give my body the healthy food it deserves. I have lost 10 pounds and have a whole bunch of healthy recipes that I will definitely be making again. In fact I can’t wait to have the Rawesome Tacos for lunch tomorrow.
My husband and I did the cleanse together and we were both pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. We didn’t t prepare the snacks just due to lack of time, but the other meals were filling and satisfying. I will do another round of the cleanse after Thanksgiving. He will do another round by incorporate his coffee, cream and 1 cookie (a huge reductio from his previous 4 to 5 cookies a day).
