Grad stories
I'm sleeping better, I'm happier and have more energy.
I've been walking every day with my dog or by myself with a book and doing strength training, which feels great. I've lost 7 pounds and have a better outlook because I don't have as much inflammation and fatigue.

Grad stories
It has recruited my husband (big win).
I'm not a natural cook and it takes a lot of my energy to plan and prep… BUT when I prep several meals and have healthy options at the ready it feels so nice. Did I complete this cleanse? Heck no! It fell in a month where we had multiple kids home sick, snow days, and a trip. HOWEVER…

Grad stories
I feel like the best version of myself.
I got so many compliments about how I looked… not just about the weight-loss but about glowing skin. I feel like the best version of myself when I'm eating plant-based… and have this 21-day cleanse to thank for that!

Grad stories
I wish I had known about this in my 40's.
I am 69, and I can honestly say adopting this lifestyle would have saved years of misery and expense due to medical issues.

Grad stories
I've been changed for the better.
Now, I know what foods make me feel great and give me tons of energy. It's like I was a caterpillar that emerged from its cocoon and turned into a beautiful butterfly. I'm not looking back.
A note from Jen
If you’re on the fence, I was too
Would the recipes actually be good? Would I just bounce right back to my old habits? Was it worth eating 100% plant-based for three weeks? Then about eight days in, I was hooked. Less bloated. Sleeping like a rock. Energy through the roof.
Most cleanses end and leave you exactly where you started — or worse, hooked on a product you have to rebuy. This one is different on purpose: you learn to cook real food, so you walk away with skills that don’t run out when the box is empty.
And if you’re nervous about the food? Remember — this is literally what I do. I make plant-based food that’s so good you forget it’s “healthy.” Because healthy should be tasty.

Not likely. The recipe portions are deliberately generous to accommodate even the largest appetites. This is not a starvation diet, it is a celebration of food, flavor, and abundance. We are not counting calories. You will be eating three to five times each day (breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner, if you choose to.) This cleanse is not designed to starve you, and you’re not limited in the number of times you eat, or the amount you eat – only in what you eat. If you do get hunger pangs, make sure that you’re really hungry, and not just bored or thirsty. If it’s a case of real hunger, go for one of the bonus snack recipes, a piece of fruit, or a small handful of nuts, or seeds. One tip to avoid hunger is to chew your green smoothie. This may sound silly, but the chewing action signals your body that food is on the way, and triggers the digestive processes.
Nope — and that’s the whole point. This cleanse runs entirely on real food you buy at your regular grocery store. No proprietary box, no capsules, no subscription. You’ll learn to cook with whole ingredients so your results actually last once the 21 days are up.
You may have many of the staple ingredients in your kitchen already (avocado oil, raw cashews, maple syrup, ground cumin, nutritional yeast, coconut oil, etc). If you do not, the first shop typically costs about $150. Then, once your kitchen is set up, we estimate the cost of the produce to be between $100 per week. If you choose to supplement the plant-based recipes with high quality animal protein like organic chicken breast or cage free eggs, your grocery bill will be higher.
And remember — you’re buying real groceries, not a $400+ box of powders you’ll run out of. Most of this is food you’d be shopping for anyway, just put to much better use.
If you struggle with getting quality sleep, we advise omitting coffee throughout the cleanse. You will get the best results and many cleanse grads choose to stay off coffee after the cleanse because they feel so great. If you and coffee aren’t ready to break up, we suggest having just one cup in the morning to support quality rest and sleep.
If you want the full benefit of cleansing your body, stick with the plan as close as possible. Our detox meals are crafted by our holistic nutritionist for optimal cleansing. This is not a vacation, it’s a cleanse. Yet of course if you truly cannot stand cilantro, turmeric or fennel, you can substitute them out for something you do enjoy, or choose another meal.
Of course— life must go on! The 21-Day Cleanse is a flexible program that you can follow while living your life with family and friends. Using the weekly meal plans and recipes will help you get great results. But, you can still get good results by sticking to the recommended foods lists. You can eat “off meal plan”, eat out, and travel during the program— feel free to ask for tips inside the community to help you the most.
You may experience short-term symptoms like: headaches, bloating, muscle cramps, skin irritations, fatigue, irritability, mood swings, or change in bowel frequency. These symptoms are completely normal and expected.
It usually takes between 2-5 days to complete the withdrawal phase of the 21-Day Cleanse, yet it’s absolutely worth it. Giving your body a break from stimulants will allow your organs to heal and your body to recharge fully. Remember, these symptoms are proof that the cleanse is working and your body is getting the care it needs.
You’ll definitely spend more time in the kitchen throughout the cleanse. In some ways, this is like a crash course plant-based cooking school. I highly suggest following our prep guide to make most of the smoothies, snacks and meals over the weekend. Breakfast is a smoothie (10 minutes), lunch is a reheated soup or quick salad (15 minutes) and dinners will range from 15 minutes – 1 hour to prepare. The good news is, the dinners repeat so you make once and reheat for another evening to give you a break in the kitchen.
We know all about busy schedules here, which is why we’ve provided a weekend prep guide that saves you tons of time during the week. If you’re working and have a full schedule, expect to spend 3-4 hours shopping and prepping on the weekends to make each cleanse week stress-free and enjoyable. The cleanse gives you a wonderful opportunity to really listen to your body. It’s an individual experience that differs for everyone. Depending on the level of toxicity in your body, there may be some less- than-amazing symptoms in the first 3–5 days, such as headaches, nausea, fatigue, skin irritations, etc. Once you hit day five, these should only be distant memories, and you’ll be well on your way to greatness. But some people sail through the entire cleansing period with no side effects at all. You may feel amazing throughout the entire cleanse, or your energy may wax and wane a little.
This cleanse is great for most people, yet you should avoid cleansing in the following situations: advanced cancer, under 16 years of age, if you have an eating disorder, kidney or liver disease, and if you’re underweight. If you have a blood sugar regulation issue (diabetes, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia) or any other medical condition, you should seek your doctor’s advice before undertaking a cleanse. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you can absolutely do the cleanse with some modifications. If this is you, let us know and we can give you specific tweaks to the program to make sure you’re benefitting your baby and body.
You may find that you have more energy than normal—and more motivation! Why waste it? Get moving! Be mindful that you may need to take it down a notch though as your body adjust to the new way of eating. If you normally exercise fairly intensely, reduce your output until you feel strong and energized.
If you don’t normally work out, you would do well to include some regular walking, yoga, swimming or gardening during this time. Try to sneak in some incidental exercise, such as getting off the train or bus one or two stops early and walking the rest of the way. Or park further away from the entrance to the grocery store and walk.
Absolutely. My husband loves our cleanses — the clear plans, the tasty recipes, and how good he feels by the end. Just double the grocery list and recipes so there’s enough for you both.
We offer a 7-day money back guarantee. Enroll now and get 7 days to go through the Week 1 Nutrition Plan, share it with your doctor, try a recipe or three, and say hello to your fellow cleansers in the private support group. If you decide it’s not for you, send us an email within 7 days of purchase and I’ll refund you. I’m that confident that when you commit to this cleanse, you’ll see results… and keep them going. You have nothing to lose but so much to gain when you go plant-based for 21 days.
Reviews
What grads say after 21 days of real food.
I can’t tell you enough about how this cleanse has changed both our lives. We have definitely decided to keep with a plant based diet. We both feel 100% better. As I noted about my diabetic numbers, they have the best in years and my husband has lost 12lbs. He has asthma and can finally walk without huffing. We joined the cleanse for something better and we have found it. We are both proud that we have made it to the end but we are definitely doing the week after cleanse. I would feel lost if I didn’t keep doing it. It’s a way of life now. We check the menus at restaurants now for plant based and have our favorites picked out. The support group is the best. 😍 Thank you so much for this great new journey. We have both enjoyed all the recipes.
This is my 5th Spring Cleanse and while I’m never surprised by the easy recipes and tasty meals, I’m always a little surprised at how good I feel and the positive results! The cleanse comes at a very busy and stressful time of the year (as a teacher), so it’s a great way to have structure and a plan to get me through the chaos of the work week. This year in particular it was helpful and insightful, and I’ll continue a few more weeks with the maintenance option to get me through the end of the school year and a great start to the summer.
I made two whole weeks of this before I had to quit because of a severe onset of acid reflux. I’m not talking traditional heartburn, but the silent type. It has caused hoarseness, a cough, lump in my throat, painful swallowing and other symptoms. I think the combination of spices, citrus fruits and healthy fats (nuts, oils, coconut milk) were just too much for my system. If I put the reflux aside, I did enjoy almost every recipe during the two weeks. I also lost 7 pounds during those two weeks. That of course doesn’t make up for the negative health side effects I experienced while being on this. Try at your own risk! On another note, there is a lot of food prep. If you don’t like the kitchen, this probably isn’t for you.
When I decided to try the SGS Cleanse, I was desperate for relief from a broad array of symptoms which had been triggered by a long-acting medication. The cleanse didn’t seem far off from how I already ate: mostly vegan, gluten free, organic and veggie-heavy; however, my intense sugar withdrawal definitely belied that assumption. But as I my body adjusted, I found I had more energy, lost my sugary cravings, my brain fog cleared up and I slept through the night, solidly and without nightmares, which had not happened in I-don’t-even-know-how-many-years. I almost cried it was such a relief to sleep well. I’m ready to embark on another cleanse, and know it will be easier this round because I kept so many of the great habits I started last time. Give it a shot! You’ve little to lose and so much to potentially gain!
I’ve been feeling sluggish and had no motivation for things. I knew I needed to change something & have been wanting to clean up my diet. And then came your email about the cleanse. I signed up just in time and I’m so grateful I did! Going through the cleanse I really wanted to stick to the menu. I did it! It was a challenge that first week with my caffeine withdrawals… headaches and body aches. I kept with it though knowing the next week things would improve. On the last day I’m feeling grateful I did this for myself. I’m feeling grateful I joined your amazing program with all the delish recipes, support and community. Everyone involved made a big difference! (So much better than going at it alone) After it all I feel lighter, for sure! I don’t own a scale but I can definitely feel and see the changes in my body and see I’ve shed a few pounds. I feel clean, clear and satisfied. I’m so happy with the cleanse and how I’m feeling. I can honestly say I was satiated and felt I had plenty of options and food throughout each day. Oh, one additional comment is that I loved that your included the core challenge and if I do this cleanse again I’d like to include that next time! Or maybe beginning the second week after the aches are gone. THANK YOU ALL!!!
This cleanse has been life changing! After years of trying to reach that “special number” on the scale, it was reached with ease! I had to pinch myself throughout the cleanse, weight loss and vegan eating shouldn’t be this easy and taste this good!
I really enjoyed this Cleanse, it help me to develop a healthy relationship with food again. The different snack options are fantastic because I was able to feel full and feel like I was getting a treAt without it being something unhealthy for me. My skin has cleared up, I used to have a decent amount of acne and most of that has gone away. I’m also more toned than I have been in quite a while. I did supplement with protein powder when I would go do CrossFit workouts just to make sure I was getting enough protein, but I never felt deprived throughout the 21 days.
I wanted to try this cleanse to give me a little boost for some weight loss. I surely accomplished that. I learned a lot about portioning and about how great it feels to eat so many fresh vegetables! I did some tweaking (within the plan) of a number of the recipes, since they weren’t all my style, but it’s great since you are encouraged to change the order in which you make the recipes during a given week and you can pick which snacks/meals are your favorites! Personally, I don’t know if I have spent so much time grocery shopping, prepping, and cooking for 3 weeks in my life, so just know that it is also a lot of work! Strict guidelines, but much flexibility within those guidelines if you ask me! I will definitely be keeping a number of recipes from Spring 21-day cleanse in my normal rotation.
I’ve been interested in moving towards a plant-based diet for years as I feel it would be better for my health, and I know plant-rich diets are a viable climate solution. Having the meals fully scripted was a huge help for me! I loved pretty much all of the recipes and will be integrating them into my regular meal planning. I was amazed at the impact removing gluten, dairy, meat, and caffeine had on my health. I feel more energetic and just all around better. I’m going to try my best to limit these in my diet from here on out. The only downside was the amount of time that weekly meal prep took. I spent 5-6 hours prepping over the weekend. Though having things prepped in advance made the week run smoothly and allowed me to stick with the planned meals as they were ready to go when I was hungry, which was super helpful. I would definitely recommend this cleanse!
The 21-day cleanse program was amazing! I can’t believe I gave up meat for 21 days! I’ve never done that before and I feel amazing!! I’ve lost 9 pounds and plan on sticking with this way of life! The plan itself was fabulous every meal was delicious and I will definitely make them again. Prepping on the weekend really helped throughout the week and I plan to continue that! I also enjoyed the community being able to connect with others and read that other people were going through the same thing as me. Accountability is a game changer! Thanks again Jen and team for a great 21 days and a great program! I cant wait for the next one!
I had been trying to eat mostly plant based but was falling into some bad habits. Too much caffeine, wine and snacking after dinner. I also found that if I did not plan my meals and prep Sunday I would find myself overeating less healthy food. This cleanse gave me the motivation I needed to get back on track. I found I have not missed the caffeine or wine. As a bonus it allowed me to cut gluten out without much hassle. My knees are feeling better. I also dropped a few pounds which I think will continue now that I am committed to continuing this lifestyle. The hardest part of this is how much time it takes to prep. I hope as I continue I will become more efficient. I especially loved the morning smoothies. I have never really made them so it was great to have recipes picked out for me. I also liked that they contained spinach or kale and other vegetables in addition to the fruit. I really enjoyed most of the meals especially the soups. I feel much more satisfied eating these plant based meals because they are so nutritious my body is getting what it needs. I even made extra of some of the recipes to share with my parents as my mom was just getting out of the hospital after surgery. They may even incorporate some plant based meals into their rotation! I’m really happy I took part in the cleanse and was able to stick with it I am going to continue to nourish myself this way! Thank you for all the shopping lists and meal plans!
This cleanse came at the perfect time for me. I have to stop eating animal products for health reasons. I had breast cancer last year and the majority of the year was spent in surgery, chemo and radiation. I am now almost done with the reconstruction process. Switching to a plant based diet is the one thing I can do to help prevent recurrence, and ensure I live my best life from here on. This was daunting to say the least, and honestly I had no idea where to start. I had done the Smoothie Challenge, and the salad challenge, and enjoyed both. Then I got the email about the Spring Cleanse. I actually cut out meat on my own the week before the challenge started and made it through the week, but the pre-cleanse week opened my eyes to just how delicious a plant based menu can be. Sure, there is more preparation than I was used to – but then when you eat a particular way your whole life it becomes second nature, and change isn’t always easy – and I wasn’t always good at getting the prep done, but I managed. I definitely need improvement in that area though 🙂 Throughout the three weeks of the process (pre-cleanse, cleanse, and post-cleanse) there have been meals that I have loved and some I loved less (not many tbh), but I am learning what I prefer. I learned that I can do this, and that is my biggest take away from this. I feel amazing (big positive driver!), never once felt deprived, don’t crave coffee, nor chocolate (big shocker!), and actually don’t crave the meat or dairy as I thought I would. I have a long way to go yet but this is a fabulous start and I am hugely motivated by what I have achieved in this past 3 weeks. I didn’t manage to make all the check-ins because of my schedule but it was good to know they were there and the prep sessions I was able to watch the recordings which was good. Posted a few times on the community and kept up reading the posts other people made which was really helpful to me as well. And information on products that would be helpful (the soup storage for example, and the silicone ice cube trays) was also incredibly valuable to me and I will need to get more of those moving forward,
I have done the 21-day cleanse several times and love it! The first time I did it I couldn’t believe how good I felt and how much energy I had. I am an avid coffee drinker and didn’t believe that I could give it up and still be able to function every morning. Well the cleanse proved me wrong! I am not a morning person and I was shocked at how much better I felt every morning. I always feel my best when I am doing the cleanse. If I had to pick anything I didn’t like it was the very first week when there is a lot of prep work but it is worth it and finding a friend to participate makes it much more fun!
I’ve actually done all the cleanses SGS has to offer, yet I did the Spring this time for a few reasons. We were in the middle of the safer at home order, and were feeling pretty blah about everything going on in 2020. My husband was recently diagnosed with an auto immune disease, and meals were a struggle for us! We decided to do this cleanse together, because we totally needed a reset… and we got one! This cleanse left me feeling lighter (down 4 lbs!), cleared up my skin with some of the stress acne I had, helped me get back on a better sleep schedule, and also improved the attitude of my whole house. We did the entire prep ahead guide (8 hours of prep), and it made all the difference. The smoothies were all prepped and ready to blend, the snacks were prepped and super easy for grab n go, and the dinners were delicious + straight forward (because who wants to create a complex recipe while cleansing!). I think EVERYONE should do a cleanse from SGS, because it’s not about deprivation, that actually does you good.
Thank you Jen for sharing your gift of food with us!!! I love to cook, and your creation of the delicious recipes was over the top!! I can’t believe how many different types of veggies and species can taste so good together!!!! The flavors I still can’t get over!! I know so many people can benefit from eating this good and not suffer loosing out on eating other not so good food! I made the veggie quinoa pizza at 9:30 pm and it was not complicated at all! It was so good that my husband and I gobble that down quick! So much flavor. I have such a bad addiction to carbs and sugar, that eating all your recipes I have not been craving anything! Thank you Jen for sharing all your creations with us.
