Smoothie Challenge Reviews
What past challengers say after a week of smoothies.
I joined the smoothie challenge to be able to be more consistent with making smoothies. I do plan on continuing to make smoothies on the daily now. I’ve always just made them on occasion for myself & family. I’m proud that I actually stuck with it the whole week. I noticed on day 2 or 3 that I wasn’t as hungry throughout the day & when I did want to snack I made better choices. I really liked all of these recipes that we made. The honey turmeric recipe is one that we like better juiced. I liked how each smoothie has different health benefits to incorporate into your journey or lifestyle changes towards better health & wellness. I am so grateful to have stumbled onto this challenge. I appreciate all the hard work that Jen Hansard has done! Thank you!!
This was a great collection of recipes. I will make all of them again. Next time can we have some recipes with less bananas (glucose issues) and less fruit with more vegetables. Thank you for all of the work you did to make this happen.
I really love this challenge. The only downside I saw was that. The ingredients weren’t always fully listed on the website theyat jen shared. And I always tried to find the p d f but wasn’t always that’s full otherwise I loved it
I did my first Simple Green smoothie challenge a couple years ago and loved it. Great way to kickstart healthier eating. Loved all the recipes felt less bloated & sluggish this week. Proud of myself for sticking with it and trying new recipes. Wouldn’t change anything thank you!
I joined to reset my eating habits. It’s hard to eat well at work (I’m a flight attendant) and bringing whole-food smoothies with me on the road helps me know I can have at least a few servings of fresh fruit/veggies per day. A couple recipes took me out of my comfort zone but I made the ones I was “afraid of” as-written and they weren’t bad! I’m glad I took part.
I joined to start a new habit to get more fruits and vegetables in my diet.I loved the recipes, I never used to like smoothies but since I started using the simple green smoothie recipes I have changed my mind. I feel I am eating healthier now, not craving unhealthy snacks.I am proud that I completed the challenge and plan to make a smoothie daily from now on. I wouldn’t change a thing about the challenge. I really enjoyed it and looked forward to each days new recipe.
I joined the challenge to feed my body lots of fruits and veggies. This is my second challenge and it has helped me lose weight and has encouraged me to eat better. I enjoyed most of the smoothies a lot. The orange carrot turmeric is my least favorite – although I know of the benefits of the ingredients. Thank you for offering the challenges.
I joined to learn how to make some different kinds of smoothies which still taste good. I liked all the recipes and tried to follow them, so that I would know the base taste. I will add some greens or additional protein powder later on. I noticed the most energy with the Day 6 smoothie. Suggestion for change is to announce the winner on the day after Day 7, so to give people the same amount of time on day 7 as on the other days.
I have done a few other smoothie challenges with Jen and loved them. I was looking for some easy breakfasts (with the addition of protein powder to each smoothie) to get me out the door and have a healthy start to my day. I feel great knowing I have increased my phytonutrient intake and accomplished for sticking with it! 💪🏼 🍓 🍊 🍌 🥬🫐🫚
I wanted to learn about new and different smoothie recipes. Also, I wanted to get into the habit of making a daily smoothie. Smoothies help me eat healthy and with being able to stay on track when I don’t have much time. Looking forward to continue including smoothies into my daily meal plan 😀
I had gotten out of the habit of a daily smoothie and this challenge helped get me back on track! I love it when I feel good about what I’m eating and feeding my family!
Loved the challenge. It felt good knowing I was eating more fruit, veggies and pure food a day than I normally would. Will definitely be keeping this up.
I first learned of Jen’s site “Simple Green Smoothies” a few years ago and began checking out all the different smoothies. I got a digital copy of her Smoothie book and it’s one I keep going back to for various reasons. I received invitations to enter a smoothie challenge in the past but this time for some reason I decided to give it a try as I have been slipping on my resolve to drink a smoothie each day. I liked the variety of smoothies Jen suggested the suggestions she offers to change things up to suit. I would watch for Jen’s emails to come in each morning with yesterday’s results and the next day’s challenge. I appreciated the information provided on each smoothie the ingredients and have noticed that I feel energized and motivated to keep going. I’m glad I became part of the team of great people working to take charge of their health. I’ve appreciated the chance to get to know people to read their results and comments and feel it’s really been a ‘community’ despite the distances. I wouldn’t change anything …. I’m grateful to Jen for the way she motivated everyone and you know that she’s speaking from experience. Thank you for this opportunity.
I joined to “force myself” to try different smoothie recipes (I typically rotate between only two smoothie recipes – Dr. Fuhrman’s “Peachy Green” and a “Beet Detox” I found on the internet). I loved all the recipes in this challenge except the Perfect Lemon one but that could easily be remedied for me by reducing the lemon content. I didn’t expect to feel any different because I already eat very clean but I actually do feel adding the smoothies boosted my energy. I literally feel healthier after this challenge which motivates me to continue to include daily smoothies with an increased variety of healthy ingredients. I really appreciated the healthiness of the recipes in this challenge! I’m proud of myself for making every single recipe as written except for substituting kale for spinach in the Best Green smoothie and for dutifully posting something every day (I rarely post on social media even private forums). The possibility of winning the Vitamix supply of Rewind green powders and Rawk the Year membership really helped to motivate me to post! I also enjoyed reading other people’s posts and looking at their photos. If I changed anything it would be my smoothie photos – they could certainly use some improvement and creativity!
My vitamix is relatively new, and I wanted to use it more but found “their” recipes just didn’t do it for me. I’ve REALLY been wanting to learn more about plant based proteins, where to find them and how to incorporate them, so that was probably what excited me the most about this opportunity. I’m not on social media at all, so lame as it sounds, it was a big step for me to join. I’ve been drinking Premier Protein shakes for breakfast for a couple years, but they are SO expensive I was looking for a more affordable option. I think it’s safe to say this challenge pretty much spoke to everything I was looking for! I honestly enjoyed all 7 recipes, even the ones I was skeptical about (aka GINGER! lol) I definitely feel I have more energy, plus a better outlook and excitement about what’s possible with a few simple changes. This was an amazing resource for me and I’m eternally grateful to you Jen, for doing all this work and being kind enought to share it with us!!
