Lemon: This smoothie calls for a whole lemon without the rind. Lemon flesh provides fiber to help you feel full longer. Lemons also give this smoothie a dose of vitamin C, which is just what your body needs to fend off both cold and flu viruses.
Peaches: Peaches are in the stone fruit family, and stone fruit gets its name from the hard, inner seed. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to support a healthy immune system. Peaches may also prevent certain types of cancer and aid in digestion.
Honey: Honey not only adds natural sweetness to this lemon smoothie, it’s also a natural energy booster. Look for raw honey in the baking aisle of your grocery store. Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. If using fresh, then use about a ½ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel the turmeric first, then grate before adding to the blender.
How to remove the rind from a lemon
- Wash and dry the lemon before cutting.
- Lay the lemon lengthwise on the cutting board. Hold the lemon with one hand and cut the top end off the lemon, removing about ¼”- ½”. Repeat with the bottom end.
- Sit the lemon on one of its freshly cut flat ends on the cutting board. The lemon will now stay upright as you cut the peel from the sides.
- Carefully cut the rind from the lemon in strips from the top to the bottom, following the curve of the lemon. Cut as close to the lemon flesh as you possibly can, removing the white pith along with the rind. Discard the rind and cut the lemon flesh into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.

Perfect Lemon Smoothie
- 1 lemon peeled
- ½ cup water
- 1 tbsp honey
- ½ inch ginger root fresh
- 1 cup peach frozen
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- 1 serving homemade protein powder optional
- Blend all ingredients until smooth.
- Pour into a tall glass and enjoy.
- To make this smoothie vegan, replace honey with maple syrup.
- Meyer lemons are slightly sweeter than traditional lemons, which can help if you don’t love the pucker or a lemon.

refreshing and sweet I am going to swap the peach for one orange next time
I make a drink in the winter called citrus kick 1 grapefruit, 1 orange 1 lemon 1 lime adding ginger would be a plus!! and then leaving the grapefruit and lime out and adding orange lemon ginger and turmeric there are so many ways and it is fun to try new recipes and tingle my taste buds.
I am not a fan of lemon, but this was not bad. I’m loving all the beautiful colors each morning.
Absolutely love this smoothie!!! I do love tart lemon flavors, so this the perfect smoothie for me. I also like that it doesn’t use banana or yogurt to sweeten like other lemon smoothies I’ve seen. Peaches are such a good choice to have in there that doesn’t interfere with the lemon flavor. Definitely will be making this again.
I took one for the team :o) This one wasn’t my favorite. I am not a fan of turmeric or ginger but I am working through that. I will try again and adjust the ingredients.
This one wasn’t my favorite but was still kinda refreshing. I’m still getting used to turmeric, but I think combined with this much lemon was too much. I needed to add some ice and some stevia to make it drinkable for me. Maybe just half a lemon, or more peaches to even it out? And unfortunately the honey just stuck to the side and bottom mostly, even in my high powered blender. Might need to pour it in with it running next time.

Whew! This one was a challenge for me! Left the white (pith) on for added nutrition but wow was it tart! Got it all down for the win though!
Love the lemons
I’ll be honest, if didn’t like this too sour or with enough sugar to cut the bitterness, to overly sweet. I think I’d like a lemon juice version better but not with pulp.
Not my absolute favorite. But it is nice and refreshing.
Not a fan. I usually enjoy tart lemon flavor. Plus I enjoy Golden Milk, so I’m familiar with the combination of turmeric and ginger. But this just paled in comparison to all the smoothies I’ve enjoyed during the 10-day Kickstart from the original book. Even with extra honey, I just didn’t care for the tart, earthy flavor.
Day 4 – Lemon smoothie — I was a bit worried with the risk of finding the drink to astringent but again the recipe is well calibrated and the taste was great and felt like really taking care of my health absorbing tones of vitamins. Again her in Montreal the weather is crazy cold at this time of the year and adding a strong dose of vitamin C to my diet makes lots of sense. Drank it and left for an afternoon of skiing!
This was an interesting tasting smoothie. I will try it again with a Meyer lemon as they are sweeter.
A little too tart
So this one is a flavor explosion in your mouth but it was bit sour! But once I finished it, I felt like my immune system got a nice boosts with all that vitamins c it’s packed with!
