How to Use Metabolism Tea

To get your metabolism ramped up, you just need what we’ve always needed: rest, nutrient-dense foods that boost your metabolism and movement. This is how our bodies are meant to function and thrive.

When you get back to these three essentials, you’re practicing self-care and your body will begin to heal itself. Sometimes that means more energy, weight loss, clear skin, fewer aches, etc— but no matter what it’s going to be feeling better than it does right now.

Best time to drink

The best time to have Metabolism Tea is upon rising as it will activate your digestive system and help relieve any bloating or digestive concerns. Once the tonic settles in, it’ll get your metabolism burn happening as well.

As the day goes on and you’re feeling hungry in between meals, sip this before you have a snack. Sometimes hunger is actually your body telling you it’s thirsty (the wires do often get crossed in our minds).

Can I make it in Bulk?

You can make this in bulk (omit the water) and freeze into ice cube trays. Then in the morning, pop one cube into a mug with hot water (or enjoy it cold in the summer). Doing this will set you up for that success you crave and get you on the road to lower weight + increased energy.

Powerful Ingredients in Metabolism Tea

Let’s be honest. When you’re just started out with a healthier diet, it’s much easier to incorporate something healthy to drink than trying to cook a new meal. This drink isn’t the cure all, but it will support you on this wellness journey thanks to these awesome ingredients:

  • Apple cider vinegar – or ACV to its closest friends – contains something called acetic acid. While research is still being done to see how this is helpful, initial studies show that acetic acid reduces insulin levels, which in turn ramps up your metabolism.
  • Lemon: Lemon contains various polyphenols that can suppress our appetite.
  • Ginger root: This inflammation fighting root vegetable helps heal your body from the inside out.
  • Cinnamon: Cinnamon has a direct tie to our metabolism and can target the fat deposited in the abdominal area.
  • Honey: Using a natural sweeteners makes this drink delicious while also adding beneficial anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial agents.

More Foods to Increase Metabolism and Burn Fat

Getting a healthy amount of leafy greens, legumes, proteins, vegetables and fruits is essential to supporting the metabolism. Slow-burning carbohydrates will help you maintain a stable metabolic rate and keep you active and nourished throughout the day.

Stick with foods like…

Refined sugars and simple starches do the opposite, spiking insulin production and throwing the whole system out of whack. This can cause the metabolism to slow down and to store sugar as fat rather than burning it as energy. Yet it’s not easy to say no to them, so I prefer the method of adding in more good stuff so it crowds out the bad.

Bottom line: A plant-based whole-food diet is going to do your metabolism some serious good.

Hiya I see in your detox tea comments u can make your teas to store and freeze what parts do u freeze and in the metabolism tea is it necessary to grate the ginger would slices do like what your using for detox tea is or is there a reason behind it
Also how often do u drink the metabolism tea my metabolism is slow. I’m in my late 40s am interested in combining your detox and metabolism tea into my diet to cut down on my coffee any advice appreciated tried your metabolism tea this morning but with stevia instead and it was gorgeous. Definitely woke me up where as it takes 2 cups of coffee to have same effect love the spices.

      1. So glad you loved this tea, Maeve. For the detox tea, you can mix together all of the ingredients, just leave out water and then portion out into ice cube trays. One well = one day’s tea. Just pop out a cube, add one cup hot water and you’re good to go!

      1. Great idea! We’ve not tried it, yet it could totally work for larger batches. Just keep in mind that these warm beverages are best made fresh daily if you can.

Wow! When I first read the list of ingredients I thought “how can this even taste good?!” But after trying it a few times, it’s amazing! It’s a nice morning sipper that helps me wake up.

    1. Way to try new things, Jr! And so glad you found this Metabolism Boosting Tea to taste as good as we think it is! 🙂

I’m in the middle of my second day. I’m spending more time than I have making the tea. Can I make the recipe in larger quantities and refrigerate it? If so, how long will it keep in the refrigerator?

This is delicious and I felt more energy the very first day and again today!

    Thanks!

    1. So awesome that you’re rawkin this Metabolism Tea, Tonya! So in our experience the Metabolism Tea can get a slimy sort of consistency when made ahead and consumed later. Making a big batch might not yield the best result for you. However, one of our community members created a work around that you might like to try. They multiplied and mixed together the recipe ingredients, leaving out the water. Then they froze the mixture into ice cube trays. Each morning they popped a cube out and poured 1 cup hot water over to create their tea.

Yes you can make it in large quantities and refrigerate it. I boil all Ingredients for 5 minutes except the honey (it is add after mixture is cooled). I use grated or thinly sliced ginger root and thinly sliced lemons.

      1. Hi Gloria! That’s a great question. My recommendation is to drink it all in one sitting and the best time of day to drink Metabolism Boosting Tea is right after waking. It’s a great way to start your day! 🙂

  3. its nasty and i don’t lose no weight i will look at something else i have been taking it for a month it have not been doing anything not good i would wather go to the gym

    1. Hi Rhonda! The tea def takes a bit to get used too. You can also add a bit more honey while you get used to the taste, and then back it off over time as you become accustomed to it. 🙂

It’s the apple cider vinegar you don’t like. Try drinking it with a straw. I have lost almost 70 pounds November 2021 May 2022.

I’m definitely going to try it this morning. Will this effect my digestive track as well, if you know what I mean?

      1. Hi Kathleen,

This Metabolism Boosting Tea will definitely help to wake your digestive system up and help with any bloating.

    1. So glad it’s working well for you Ash. You can try a bit more honey while you get used to the taste, if needed.

    1. You can totally drink the tea cold. However, the warmth of the liquid hitting you system in the morning is part of what helps your digestive system to “kick into gear” (if ya know what I mean). Drinking it cold won’t work as well in that regard.

    1. For sure, Peggy! 🙂 Just know that it won’t be quite as potent, but it does in a pinch!

This tea is really good. I will drink at night when I am studying instead of drinking coffee.

    1. That’s a great idea, Rhonda! Avoiding the caffeine will help you sleep better too!

WOW! My taste buds are having a party rn. Just made this and it is DIVINE! My daughter and myself are trying to transition into a healthier lifestyle and I have to say this is a great start! I love all of the ingredients that make this cup of greatness and cook with them often,so we had everything at home already and that is all the better to rate this a 5 ⭐!

  6. Hi, I have an autoimmune thyroid condition (Hashimotos) and seriously need to lose weight. I already drink hot water with lemon and honey most mornings and and love the idea of the metabolism tea. Could I then combine this with weight loss smoothies for breakfast and lunch? I have to take medication in the morning and then ideally leave 3 hours or so before eating, so I tend to wake around 6.30, take my tablet, have hot water and lemon around 8ish and then leave breakfast until after my children have gone to school around 9.30. Would this work? Thank you

    1. While we’d love to say this would work for you Amanda, unfortunately we’re not docs or nutritionists. Best thing to do would be to share your plan with your healthcare provider and get their advice on what is best. Hashimotos can be difficult to wrangle with, so we def want you to do what’s going to be best for your body!

  7. Can I drink the Metabolism Tea and Detox tea in the morning -one right after the other ?

    1. I would space them out. Have the Metabolism tea first thing… and then the detox tea in between meals when you’re feeling the “cravings” come on.

i I have been drinking this tea recipe for some time now, only i use gunpower green tea instead of apple cider vinegar.Tast very good.

  9. Can anyone tell me the best way to bree Skinny Dreams Tea? It is supposed to be a “fat burning sleep aid. Once again, why no instructions for brewinh and using the tiny tea bags with no strings.

    1. Hi Cynthia— we don’t use any brand of tea here and don’t promote the brand you mentioned above. Yet ‘m sure if you reached out to that company directly they could help you. Or why not ditch the brand and just make this one yourself? It’ll save you money and most likely work even better since you control the level of ingredients and can make it stronger if you like.

  10. There are NO INSTRUCTIONS included with the skinny dreams tea. This appears to be hugh ripoff. Can’t even find instructions on line.
