Strawberry Mango Smoothie in a cute crate

Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this strawberry mango smoothie was created by my very first SGS rawkstar team member, Dan Mottayaw. That was 8 years ago, and now he’s got a toddler who gulps this smoothie down! It warms my heart to see kids growing up on leafy greens + fruit, like this delicious strawberry mango smoothie recipe.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Strawberries, a powerhouse smoothie ingredient

Did you know that strawberries actually have more vitamin C than oranges? It’s true! These sweet berries shine in this strawberry mango smoothie recipe, both in flavor and in nutrients.

Strawberries are also low in sugar + high in fiber, which makes them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush, as well as keep your levels more stable. They are naturally sweet, so they are a great sweet treat in a smoothie, or straight off the stem.

Strawberries can also be used in any berry recipe as a substitute.

Mango: the best tropical fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mangoes. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them – blended in this strawberry mango smoothie as well as freshly peeled.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. It’s juicy + sweet and chock full of vitamin A and fiber. Make sure and stand over the sink while eating a fresh one, because you’ll have juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie to instantly get an island vibe going. I usually buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco when using it in this strawberry mango smoothie, because it’s cheaper than my local grocery store.

It was ok. It was thick and didn’t taste as fresh, probably due to the frozen fruit. Will try again when strawberries are in season! And with a boost!

  2. AnnMarie says:

    5 stars
Creamy, slightly sweet and simply delightful.

  3. D Buxton says:

    4 stars
This was great – felt like a sweet treat. I’m new to almond milk and enjoyed it in this smoothie. Used fresh strawberries and frozen mango.

  4. Stephanie says:

    3 stars
This smoothie was okay. I think I will try it with coconut milk or coconut water instead of almond milk.

  5. Susan says:

This strawberry-mango smoothie is refreshing. It has a tangy yogurt-like flavor. If I hadn’t made it myself, I may have bet there was plain yogurt in it. I like that it’s packed full of vitamin C.

  6. Ajcdav says:

    3 stars
This is a pretty tasty smoothy, but I found it a little too tart for my liking.

  7. Venetria Patton says:

    4 stars
I made this according to the recipe. It was a bit tart.

  8. Monica Robinson says:

    4 stars
I m on day two of the 10-day smoothie challenge. This smoothie I made as listed. I did not like it as well and rate it 4 I believe if Strawberries were in the season with fresh strawberries it would be so much better and would be 5 out of 5 stars.

  9. Taylor says:

    5 stars
Added an extra handful of spinach and used frozen strawberries and mango. Will definitely make again!

  10. Dora Suarez says:

    5 stars
I did not have almond milk on hand so blended this with coconut water instead. It was refreshing, delicious and because I added protein to my blend the perfect post workout/ride recovery drink. Delicious.

  11. Kathleen says:

    3 stars
Tasty but not my fave. I had to make a couple of adjustments to the recipe. Used flax milk because my husband is doing the 10 day challenge with me and he’s allergic to almonds. And I didn’t have quite enough strawberries so I added a few raspberries. I’m not a big fan of strawberries anyway. Still a good smoothie.

  12. Cynthia says:

    5 stars
Love strawberries and mangos, but have never tried this combo before. Yummy!

  13. Shari Guymon says:

    2 stars
Blaah! I blended recipe exactly as given. Tolerable, but nothing to rave about. I had to amend after my first taste and add some greek yogurt to fill it out some. It was all right , but definitely not my favorite.

  14. Jamie E says:

    3 stars
It’s good. I think I prefer smoothies made with the coconut water but need to mix it up sometimes . I would drink it again. I accidentally added too much mango – usually I’m not a fan of strawberry smoothies but this worked .

  15. Steph says:

    4 stars
Pretty good smoothie. Nothing exceptional, but enjoyable none the less. It is simple, so very easy to make on a whim.

  16. Deborah says:

    1 star
The combination of red and green to make brown makes this a little off putting. I froze my pack and did not give the fruit enough time to thaw so I added a lot of water so my blender wouldn’t struggle, this may have diluted the taste far too much. I am not a huge fan of strawberries either. So many things about this for me not to like.

  17. Brandie Glessner says:

I really liked this one, but think I’ll add a bit of wildflower honey next time as I used frozen fruit and the sweetness wasn’t as much as I’d have liked from this one. I love strawberries and mangos though, so I’m going to keep working on this one. 🙂

  18. Carolee Crider says:

    2 stars
Love strawberries. Love mango. Use almond milk in smoothies often. Did not love this recipe. Maybe because I use power greens instead of spinach, but it was not very flavorful to me.

  19. Suzie says:

    4 stars
I am doing the smoothie challenge and although I am not a huge mango fan I stepped out of my comfort zone and made this smoothie today without swapping the mango. It was refreshing and tasty. I did add extra spinach. I’m glad I expanded my horizons and tried something again that isn’t my favorite. Enjoying the smoothie challenge. I make smoothies every week. – usually a big batch and freeze them, but now I’ve prepped a different smoothie for the next 5 days.

  20. Shirley says:

    3 stars
During the Summertime, it would be very refreshing – but it’s Winter where I am so I added a banana + Sunflower Seed Butter which gave it a nice creaminess but couldn’t taste the strawberries nor mangoes. Both were frozen – missed the punch
of the fresh. Also, next time I’ll add more greens and a little less fruit.

    a side note… Day 8 Carrot Smoothie
I was watching a couple do a Vitamix demo online and they only used yellow carrots which kept the smoothie vibrant-
looking whereas the yellow carrots turned it brown.

Quite enjoying the challenge – thank you to all !

  21. Loren says:

    4 stars
I ran out of mango so swapped for peach. Frozen peaches and strawberries are not as flavorful. It was good but I’m sure it would have been better with mango.

  22. Tara Pittman says:

    5 stars
Strawberries and mangos add great flavor to green smoothies. I loved the flavor of this smoothie and will be stocking my freezer with frozen strawberries and mangos

  23. COURTNEY says:

    3 stars
I had a berry medley in my freezer instead of strawberries, so the color was a little muddy, but the flavor was OK, not too sweet. I’ve learned that I prefer water-based green smoothies, instead of nut milks.

  24. Melinda says:

    5 stars
Added protein, flaxseed & beet powder. Wish I’d only added protein. I’m going to make it again as written.

  25. Akasha Villalobos says:

    2 stars
Though I appreciate that this smoothie is not too sweet, I found it unfortunately bland. Were I to make it again, I’d add something for flavor like a banana or a higher mango ratio, and I’d add something for creaminess like banana, cauliflower or avocado. I do like its lightness, though.

  26. Shelby says:

This one isn’t my favorite, but definitely good since I know how good for me it is. Adding a banana really makes a difference in flavor!

  27. Tina says:

    4 stars
Added protein powder & more liquid. Kids loved it! I tend to prefer smoothies with water base.

  28. Raquel says:

Used the strawberry mango smoothie with added chia seeds for our breakfast replacement. Hubby blended it up and then cleaned the blender. It wasn’t as sweet as day 1 but still good.

  29. Kim says:

Pretty good taste although a bit more tart than I prefer. I again tasted the fruit more than the spinach. Took less than 5 minutes from blending to cleaned up! I did end up going back and rebounding, adding water, a banana and a little ginger. I think the milk made it thicker and a bit harder for me to drink. I’m enjoying the 10 day challenge!

  30. Kimberly Wade says:

    4 stars
This smoothie was not as tasty as the Day One smoothie, but the strawberry flavor really came through. The color was slightly brownish.

  31. Kathy Overstreet says:

    5 stars
Love – Love – Love this smoothie! As always I add meal replacement items and double the spinach!! 🙂

  32. Melanie D. says:

    1 star
I found this smoothie to be a little too thick and lacking in flavor. Personally, I am not a fan of milk/milk alternatives in smoothies, so if you feel similarly I wouln’t recommend this blend. I made the recipe as instructed and there’s almost a slight bitterness to the taste.

  33. Amy Wheeler says:

My strawberries were ultra tangy so I added a tsp of farm fresh honey to sweeten it a bit. Thoroughly enjoyed!!

  34. Catherine says:

    2 stars
Maybe it’s because I put some pea protein powder in, but it didn’t have much flavor and the consistency was really thick. Think I’ll avoid the “Make it a meal” option for this one in the future.

  35. Kelly says:

    5 stars
Loved this! The strawberries make it so delicious!

  36. Lauren Hensley says:

    5 stars
    Yum! This turned out great!

  37. Kathi says:

    3 stars
It’s OK. Not my favorite. Way too thick…had to add more liquid.

  38. Laura says:

    5 stars
Super tasty! Added protein powder to it and put it in a fun blender bottle for on the go!

  39. EVelyn Deros says:

    2 stars
not my favourite…hardly taste the strawberry.
And had to add water because much too thick!

  40. Margaret McBean says:

I made this smoothie, I had to add more milk and it wasn’t green. At first it was really thick. Maybe the strawberry pieces we’re too big? Thanks

Smith and sweet. Added protein powder. Perfect before yoga class.

  43. Michelle Zajichek says:

What kind of coconut water do you recommend.?I’ve never purchased it before .

    • SGS Rawkstar Jen says:

I like Zico, Trader Joes and also Costco has their own brand. Most important is making sure there are not added sugars or “natural flavors.” If price isn’t an option, Harmless Harvest is the best of the best and found in the refrigerated section.

Mind you I did not realize I had bought almond coconut milk maybe that is the difference.
