This challenge is for you if…
Ten days, ten salads, and the shopping already worked out. Here’s who it’s really for.
Your salads have gone boring
The same leaves and bottled dressing every time. Ten days of recipes that taste like you meant it.
You want a real meal, not a side
Pasta salads, grain bowls, roasted vegetables — hearty enough to be lunch and dinner.
You want more vegetables in your day
The easiest way to eat a lot of them, without turning the oven on most nights.
You hate wasting produce
One grocery list for the whole ten days, so the greens get used before they turn.
Lunch is the meal you skip
Something ready in the fridge beats whatever is quickest at one o’clock.
You like doing it with other people
A challenge with a start date, daily emails, and a crowd doing it alongside you.
What’s inside the challenge
Ten days of salads worth looking forward to, with the thinking already done.

Menu
10-day salad menu
A new one every day — Healthy Taco, Vegan Potato, Kale Caesar, Bright Berry. Each serves two, so dinner leaves lunch behind.

Groceries
One grocery list
Split across two trips, days 1–5 and 6–10, so the spinach never turns before you reach it.

Prep
A salad prep guide
Dressings made ahead in little jars, vegetables chopped and waiting. Then it is grab, toss and eat.

Emails
Motivation emails
Encouragement, quick tips and reminders from me, start to finish. We’re in this together.

It started with one green smoothie. That was the whole plan — one a day, every day, and let it add up. I was exhausted, stressed out and frustrated with my body, and a smoothie was the one thing I could manage.
Smoothies turned into soups, soups turned into salads, and eventually it turned into this. Somewhere along the way I stopped surviving each day and started living it — a backyard family farm, running across the Grand Canyon twice in a single day, hiking to the top of the tallest waterfall in North America with my kids.
What I’ve learned from all of it is that repetition and focus are what make results happen. So ten days of salads, one after another, will get you good at this — confident making salads that are filling, full of flavor, and that actually taste good.

FAQs
Two. Enjoy one for dinner and the other as lunch leftovers the next day, or do the challenge with someone and have exactly the right amount each day. The shopping list is worked out on that basis.
So your produce doesn’t go bad. You buy only what you need for the first five days, then shop again for days six to ten. There’s nothing enjoyable about opening a bag of rancid spinach.
Both, and that’s deliberate. Fruit salads, potato salads, garden salads — some are filling enough to be dinner on their own, others are better alongside something. It’s up to you which way you take each one.
Yes, and I’d recommend it. Make the dressings ahead and keep them in small airtight containers, and chop most of the vegetables and fruit in advance — just wait to wash until you’re ready to eat. Three recipes want nuts soaked the night before, so set a phone reminder.
Not at all. Keep drinking one right through the challenge — I will. The more plants, the merrier.
A ten-day salad menu, a done-for-you grocery list split across the two shopping trips, a salad prep guide, a full-colour interactive PDF, and a motivation email from me each day. It’s yours to keep and cook from again.

What people say after ten days of salads.
Salad again! YES!!
Absolutely love making my own salad dressings but wouldn’t be as successful without SGS! Everyday was a new delicious salad experience! I have my favorites (the crunchy carrot salad) but they were all a wonderful medley of goodness. Thanks SGS!
veggin it up
fabulous
Thanks for helping me get healthy!
From smoothies to salads – you’re really helping me learn to eat better. I didn’t know where to start and then found your website. I’m buying things at the store and eating things I’d only heard of before. I’m 61 years old. You’re never too old to make changes and healthy choices.
Creative, delicious, easy and supportive!
I joined this challenge not knowing how much I would get out of it, but hoping for more salad ideas. I had participated in a smoothie challenge before which was good so I signed up for the 10 day salad challenge. Wow! Both husband and I have been pleasantly surprised by every salad recipe. I also loved that they weren’t all “green” salads and the potato salad was one of my favorite, because I never would have made that one my own. All the dressings are delicious and even though neither of us are big on fruit in green salads, the mix was always good and the strawberry vinaigrette was amazing! If you aren’t sure about signing up, just try it! The challenge also had a Facebook support group that was amazing and very helpful if you had questions or could not find an ingredient. This was just what I needed to get out of my winter food rut.
Great ideas!
Great ideas. Looking forward to sharing with friends and family!
Fun and simole
I absolutely love this challenge and how it took the complexities out of eating a more plant based diet away. The recipes were delicious and not overwhelming and made plant forward eating delicious! Here’s to a more sustainable, health forward future!
The best challenge to jumpstart new healthy eating habits!!!
I love all of Jen’s challenges! The recipes are absolutely delicious and it motivates me to use fresh ingredients in different ways. I so appreciate the plant centric approach, not to mention the support and positive vibes I get from the challenge and from following Simplegreensmoothies.com. Oh, and the best part is that these short challenges are free!
Enjoy life and salad on
I have always enjoyed salads but this made me experiment outside my comfort zone. My favorite was a mixed green salad with homemade pickles and avocado. Everything was pretty much dang delicious. I literally ate some type of salad for 10 days straight!
great variety of salads to try
I love that Jen picked a huge variety of salads for the challenge. Something for everyone’s tastes and I can pick salads in the future based on what I have on hand, what I’m hungry for or whats on sale! My family loved the salad challenge too. they liked them as a side while I was eating them for meals. thanks!
The Kale of the wild greens
I am so glad I participated in the 10 day salad challenge. Not only did I try some new things, I gained knowledge and some easy go to recipes. I can’t wait to try another one of your challenges.
Awesome Experience – new way of life.
I have really enjoyed the salads on this challenge. I think my favorite was the very first one. The dressing was to die for and I will be making a full jar of it for future salads. The whole challenge really opened my eyes to the versatility of ingredients as well as the fact that I don’t have to have meat with every meal. I’m looking forward to incorporating the things I learned during this challenge into my daily life moving forward!
Review
I joined late and haven’t tried all the recipes. But it is so positive and motivating. I plan on trying the carrot salad today and expect that I will be trying others well after the challenge is over. Thanks for the inspiration!
Challenging Challenge
I did the smoothie challenge and loved it but this was so much tougher. I felt that the challenge should have had a day or two in between to give time to prep and buy. This was much more costly than the smoothie challenge with more excess product. While I really love salads and veggies I didn’t find this as inspiring as the smoothie challenge. I found the list of ingredients extensive with many leftovers. Maybe if I were preparing for more than one the outcome would have been different.
Who knew salads could be so tasty and satisfying
I think the title says it all. I really enjoyed trying new ingredients, getting outside my comfort zone when it came to the variety of ingredients used in all the different salads. Really added a great deal of variety since my lunch is always the same salad. Great challenge and great recipes that will be used for a long time!
Almost the best 10 days of my life!!
I tried my best to follow as much as I could and what I did follow, I really noticed a difference with what I just consumed. I promised myself to go back and eventually go through all of the 10 days of this challenge and do it over again, when I have more time and less stress in my days. I really appreciated that someone out there cares for my well being and the well being of others. Thank you for running this wonderful and healthful challenge!!
