Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:

  • Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
  • Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
  • Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
  • Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
  • Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.

Recipe Variations

  • Protein boost: Add 1 serving of protein powder or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
  • Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
  • Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
  • Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
  • Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.

Storage Tips

Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

LOVED IT! So creamy and satisfying. Added protein powder and made it a meal replacement about 9:30 this morning… still not hungry 3 hours later.

Since it’s like 9 degrees outside, I really appreciated the refreshing fruit flavors. So disappointed when it was gone!!

Good flavor and I always enjoy this one. Today, the frozen bananas, strawberries and cauliflower froze my cup of almond milk so I had to add more almond milk and water to actually get it to blend, even using the tamper. Also added my homemade protein powder and collagen, which usually thickens it as well.

Everyone says they like it. I wasn’t very careful about the proportions but used all the ingredients except used lactose free chocolate milk for part of the “milk”. The rest of the milk was strawberry mooala. My son is more likely to drink it if I add some of his chocolate fairlife milk.

Unfortunately, I am battling Covid-19 for the very first time. I swear that my Simple Green Smoothies helped me through my journey of illness this past week!! I began guzzling green smoothies right after the new year, and I am convinced that my symptoms were lessened and my immunity surged because of my healthy choice in drinking a smoothie a day again. Today’s STRAWBERRY BANANA smoothie is so creamy and fabulous! I added turnip greens to my recipe and omitted the cauliflower because I didn’t have it on hand. It’s still sweet with the added greens, and since my sense of taste and smell came back today, it especially made me grin from ear to ear! Cheers!!

  5. It was a delicious! It yielded about 20 oz of a creamy but not thick smoothie and I felt satisfied.

This recipe is a keeper! The frozen cauliflower made it thick and creamy, and I couldn’t taste it at all. My strawberries weren’t very flavorful, so I tasted more banana, but you could add more strawberries without making it too watery.

I added a few frozen cherries and collagen protein powder to make mine a meal replacement. I also used a slightly green banana so it wasn’t too sweet and oat milk as my nondairy milk. Couldn’t tatse the cauliflower at all. Nice and creamy, not too sweet.

I did not taste the cauliflower I do use ice because I also use of whey protein currently and it’s flavored so that may be why I didn’t taste the cauliflower. I also add spinach to all my smoothies so it’s not a pretty color but I don’t put them on Instagram, so I liked it and I was surprised because I don’t especially like bananas, but it was very good

I’ll rate this a 5. I liked the creaminess and the thickness of this Smoothie but all I could taste was the banana. Next time, I’ll either add more strawberries or a little less banana. Great smoothie!

Sneaking in those veggies! Love this. Great Mom trick : ). When my son was in high school I handed him a smoothie everyday before he walked out the door with some sneaky veggies….Later learned that all his friends were envious of his morning smoothie! This one was really good – great texture and taste. Looking forward to tomorrow!!!

  12. Day One: Strawberry Banana Smoothie was great. I love bananas, so this will be a repeat for me. Very creamy and satisfying.

Delish!! I don’t normally use strawberries because they are tasteless in winter but tge frozen ones solved the problem.

Delicious! I was skeptical about the cauliflower, but it was a great addition. I thought it had the perfect sweetness.
