Grad stories
I'm sleeping better, I'm happier and have more energy.
I've been walking every day with my dog or by myself with a book and doing strength training, which feels great. I've lost 7 pounds and have a better outlook because I don't have as much inflammation and fatigue.

Grad stories
It has recruited my husband (big win).
I'm not a natural cook and it takes a lot of my energy to plan and prep… BUT when I prep several meals and have healthy options at the ready it feels so nice. Did I complete this cleanse? Heck no! It fell in a month where we had multiple kids home sick, snow days, and a trip. HOWEVER…

Grad stories
I feel like the best version of myself.
I got so many compliments about how I looked… not just about the weight-loss but about glowing skin. I feel like the best version of myself when I'm eating plant-based… and have this 21-day cleanse to thank for that!

Grad stories
I wish I had known about this in my 40's.
I am 69, and I can honestly say adopting this lifestyle would have saved years of misery and expense due to medical issues.

Grad stories
I've been changed for the better.
Now, I know what foods make me feel great and give me tons of energy. It's like I was a caterpillar that emerged from its cocoon and turned into a beautiful butterfly. I'm not looking back.
A note from Jen
If you’re on the fence, I was too
Would the recipes actually be good? Would I just bounce right back to my old habits? Was it worth eating 100% plant-based for three weeks? Then about eight days in, I was hooked. Less bloated. Sleeping like a rock. Energy through the roof.
Most cleanses end and leave you exactly where you started — or worse, hooked on a product you have to rebuy. This one is different on purpose: you learn to cook real food, so you walk away with skills that don’t run out when the box is empty.
And if you’re nervous about the food? Remember — this is literally what I do. I make plant-based food that’s so good you forget it’s “healthy.” Because healthy should be tasty.

Not likely. The recipe portions are deliberately generous to accommodate even the largest appetites. This is not a starvation diet, it is a celebration of food, flavor, and abundance. We are not counting calories. You will be eating three to five times each day (breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner, if you choose to.) This cleanse is not designed to starve you, and you’re not limited in the number of times you eat, or the amount you eat – only in what you eat. If you do get hunger pangs, make sure that you’re really hungry, and not just bored or thirsty. If it’s a case of real hunger, go for one of the bonus snack recipes, a piece of fruit, or a small handful of nuts, or seeds. One tip to avoid hunger is to chew your green smoothie. This may sound silly, but the chewing action signals your body that food is on the way, and triggers the digestive processes.
Nope — and that’s the whole point. This cleanse runs entirely on real food you buy at your regular grocery store. No proprietary box, no capsules, no subscription. You’ll learn to cook with whole ingredients so your results actually last once the 21 days are up.
You may have many of the staple ingredients in your kitchen already (avocado oil, raw cashews, maple syrup, ground cumin, nutritional yeast, coconut oil, etc). If you do not, the first shop typically costs about $150. Then, once your kitchen is set up, we estimate the cost of the produce to be between $100 per week. If you choose to supplement the plant-based recipes with high quality animal protein like organic chicken breast or cage free eggs, your grocery bill will be higher.
And remember — you’re buying real groceries, not a $400+ box of powders you’ll run out of. Most of this is food you’d be shopping for anyway, just put to much better use.
If you struggle with getting quality sleep, we advise omitting coffee throughout the cleanse. You will get the best results and many cleanse grads choose to stay off coffee after the cleanse because they feel so great. If you and coffee aren’t ready to break up, we suggest having just one cup in the morning to support quality rest and sleep.
If you want the full benefit of cleansing your body, stick with the plan as close as possible. Our detox meals are crafted by our holistic nutritionist for optimal cleansing. This is not a vacation, it’s a cleanse. Yet of course if you truly cannot stand cilantro, turmeric or fennel, you can substitute them out for something you do enjoy, or choose another meal.
Of course— life must go on! The 21-Day Cleanse is a flexible program that you can follow while living your life with family and friends. Using the weekly meal plans and recipes will help you get great results. But, you can still get good results by sticking to the recommended foods lists. You can eat “off meal plan”, eat out, and travel during the program— feel free to ask for tips inside the community to help you the most.
You may experience short-term symptoms like: headaches, bloating, muscle cramps, skin irritations, fatigue, irritability, mood swings, or change in bowel frequency. These symptoms are completely normal and expected.
It usually takes between 2-5 days to complete the withdrawal phase of the 21-Day Cleanse, yet it’s absolutely worth it. Giving your body a break from stimulants will allow your organs to heal and your body to recharge fully. Remember, these symptoms are proof that the cleanse is working and your body is getting the care it needs.
You’ll definitely spend more time in the kitchen throughout the cleanse. In some ways, this is like a crash course plant-based cooking school. I highly suggest following our prep guide to make most of the smoothies, snacks and meals over the weekend. Breakfast is a smoothie (10 minutes), lunch is a reheated soup or quick salad (15 minutes) and dinners will range from 15 minutes – 1 hour to prepare. The good news is, the dinners repeat so you make once and reheat for another evening to give you a break in the kitchen.
We know all about busy schedules here, which is why we’ve provided a weekend prep guide that saves you tons of time during the week. If you’re working and have a full schedule, expect to spend 3-4 hours shopping and prepping on the weekends to make each cleanse week stress-free and enjoyable. The cleanse gives you a wonderful opportunity to really listen to your body. It’s an individual experience that differs for everyone. Depending on the level of toxicity in your body, there may be some less- than-amazing symptoms in the first 3–5 days, such as headaches, nausea, fatigue, skin irritations, etc. Once you hit day five, these should only be distant memories, and you’ll be well on your way to greatness. But some people sail through the entire cleansing period with no side effects at all. You may feel amazing throughout the entire cleanse, or your energy may wax and wane a little.
This cleanse is great for most people, yet you should avoid cleansing in the following situations: advanced cancer, under 16 years of age, if you have an eating disorder, kidney or liver disease, and if you’re underweight. If you have a blood sugar regulation issue (diabetes, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia) or any other medical condition, you should seek your doctor’s advice before undertaking a cleanse. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you can absolutely do the cleanse with some modifications. If this is you, let us know and we can give you specific tweaks to the program to make sure you’re benefitting your baby and body.
You may find that you have more energy than normal—and more motivation! Why waste it? Get moving! Be mindful that you may need to take it down a notch though as your body adjust to the new way of eating. If you normally exercise fairly intensely, reduce your output until you feel strong and energized.
If you don’t normally work out, you would do well to include some regular walking, yoga, swimming or gardening during this time. Try to sneak in some incidental exercise, such as getting off the train or bus one or two stops early and walking the rest of the way. Or park further away from the entrance to the grocery store and walk.
Absolutely. My husband loves our cleanses — the clear plans, the tasty recipes, and how good he feels by the end. Just double the grocery list and recipes so there’s enough for you both.
We offer a 7-day money back guarantee. Enroll now and get 7 days to go through the Week 1 Nutrition Plan, share it with your doctor, try a recipe or three, and say hello to your fellow cleansers in the private support group. If you decide it’s not for you, send us an email within 7 days of purchase and I’ll refund you. I’m that confident that when you commit to this cleanse, you’ll see results… and keep them going. You have nothing to lose but so much to gain when you go plant-based for 21 days.
Reviews
What grads say after 21 days of real food.
I do these cleanses because I need to be part of a community and hold myself accountable. The recipes as a whole are good but some miss the mark and there were a lot of typos this time around. But in doing the cleanse I get rid of the sugar cravings and afternoon blahs and getting the caffeine and other toxins out is kind of painful despite eating pretty darn well most of the rest of the year.
I was looking for a challenge to help me break the cycle of stress eating and sporadic exercise. I know when I exercise I eat better and when I eat better I enjoy staying active. I was in a rut but also knew if I decided to join the cleanse I would be determined to see it through to the fullest extent possible. The recipes were really good, and even when I thought they would be boring or nowhere near enough of a meal to satisfy my hunger or my tastes, I was almost always pleasantly surprised and found something I am likely to make again and again after the cleanse. I lost some weight but more than the number on the scale, I feel better and I am more fit. I started running a 5K nearly every day when I started the cleanse and I am continuing that after the cleanse as well. I won’t stay 100% plant-based but I will incorporate the smoothies and many plant-based recipes into my daily breakfasts, lunches and snacks. Overall the cleanse was a wonderful experience. There were periods of adjustment as I got used to no caffeine or alcoholic beverages but it gave me so much more to feel good about. I feel better prepared to manage my eating and exercise heading into the holiday season. I couldn’t have given myself a better gift!
The cleanse was great! I especially appreciate the bulk shopping lists and the two versions of each week’s info – one with inspiring, colorful images and one without images for ink-friendly printing. I also like that the plan includes multiple meals for each time of day AND repeats for the week – nice variety AND time savings!
The menu seemed daunting to begin with due to my terrible habits. I knew for some time that I had to make some changes or I was going to continue not only to lose energy and excellent health but would continue to gain weight (+50 lbs in 8 years!) But I was determined to make those changes and although I did not even attempt to give up a.m. coffee—not my problem really since I only drink 2 and don’t have any other form of caffeine during the day for years. But the meals were almost always extremely tasty and varied and the instructions were easy to follow. It is not possible to due this without consecrating the time in the kitchen but it even motivated me to reorganize my kitchen to make it more practical for cooking regularly. I lost 10 lbs over the 3 weeks to my surprise, given the quantities and plan on going strong, even during the holidays. Thanks so much! My goals were: to make a break from sugary products and chips and to restart cooking for myself since I had gotten into that habit of grazing rather than planning and prepping. I have hope now and plan to start walking regularly in the very near future. Thank you again.
This was SHOCKINGLY amazing all the way around!!! I don’t even like veggies, and everything was delicious and I stuck to the plan for 21 whole days. As I’ve shared, my word has been turnkey – everything I needed to be successful was right there and it worked. My goal was to reset my body b/c it felt like lots was awry… and it worked. Bonus I certainly lost weight, which was another reason I believe my body needed a reset, it was ready to get rid of the extra stuff. Can’t wait to do it again and continue this journey!!!
I’ve looked at the emails for a long time, and considered joining in, but wasn’t too sure what I might be signing up for. This time, I decided it was time to do something for myself. I have been carrying too much weight for a long time and no matter how much exercise I do, or how “healthy” I eat, I have not been able to move the scale. I really wanted to see whether a change in diet would make a change in my body, and it has certainly been a start! I am down a few pounds (I didn’t keep track, but perhaps 6-7) and have calmed my craving for sugar and treats. I adore my tea & coffee, and a glass of wine or two, but managed to put them all aside for 3 weeks so that I wouldn’t start cheating. I’m not the biggest fan of vegetables, but the recipes were pretty darn good for the most part. Love, love, love the smoothies for breakfast and the soups which helped me to avoid a last minute grab of something unhealthy for lunches. It certainly paid off being prepared. My hope is that this has been the kick start I needed to be more mindful about food. I have recipes that I will go back to, and am thrilled to know that I can do this when I put my mind to it!
This was the first time that I have done a cleanse, after deciding the investment of time and money was what I needed to kick- start a wellness routine after a difficult year leading to weight gain, lack of exercise, poor sleep, and depressed mood. I had not realized that the cleanse recipes would repeat (to help minimize prep-time) so found the bonus recipes a huge help in providing additional dinners, which was important to be able to incorporate the cleanse with my family life and allow us all to sit down to pretty much the same meal each night. I really appreciated Jen’s approach – to make things work for each participant – having “permission” to switch around days to fit in with our schedule, and to keep my morning (black) coffee, helped stay the course. The recipes were tasty, the prep guides helped to be organized, and having the grocery list the Wednesday before each week of the cleanse allowed me shop wisely (our flyers run Thursday to Wednesday). Also, the community and live calls provided useful information and encouragement along the way. At the end of the three weeks I feel reenergized, have lost some weight, and have got back to regular exercise. Sleep is still a work in progress, but has improved. I am feeling better about myself, and have gained the motivation I was looking for to get back to my ideal weight and a healthier lifestyle. Thank you!
This is my 3rd cleanse and if I stick to it for 3 weeks, I always feel amazing. Decrease in inflammation, feel slimmer, and feel great about what I am eating. The recipes are great but could use a little more spice in my opinion, love the prep guides. I love structure so having a weekly menu, shopping list and recipes is right up my alley. The live calls and support group is wonderful seeing everyone’s pictures and sharing there wins and struggles. Maybe sometime in the future I will quit craving chocolate.
The scale moved for me for the first time in a long while, which tells me what I need to keep doing! I got out of my comfort zone quite a bit and tried foods I don’t normally eat or thought I didn’t like (I’m a recovering picky eater). I also learned that I do pretty well with breakfast an lunch, but if I don’t have dinner prepped, it’s bad news!
Highly encourage anyone who is interested in giving themselves a break to focus on healthy eating to join the next cleanse. The meals are delicious, the structure is easy to follow and the community support is wonderful. Thank you Jen Hansard for building and sharing such a great program!
Recipes were great, prep-guides and shopping list were key to staying on track for success. I was able to lose weight after a plateau for several months. A joined the support calls for the first time and found them helpful on this cleanse journey. So happy with the cleanse.
Loved the menus and most recipes and really appreciate the prep guides! Big win for me, better poops! Scale only moved slightly due to lots of social eating. But, even that’s a win this time of year.
I loved the Autumn Cleanse. It kept me on a clean eating track for 3 weeks, I lost 3kg/6lbs, had great sleep and energy during a very tiring time of year as a teacher. More than one person told me I looked great and asked what I was doing!
I enjoyed the three-week cleanse. Through this experience, I understand that prep is everything if you want to stay on track and make this way of eating a lifestyle. I enjoyed most of the food and even tried something new like leeks. The prep guides are very useful and detailed. It’s good to have food already prepared when I’m hungry and ready to eat. I plan to continue this way of eating most of the time because I feel good and I’m losing weight. I’ve already lost 10 pounds!
Overall, my husband, and I felt this cleanse was a success. We both experienced some weight loss, increased energy, improved digestion, and enjoyed many of the recipes. Prepping on the weekends took much longer than I expected. Especially when adjusting the recipes to accommodate for two people and figuring out what to do for the kids when they were not eating the same meals as us. Also, given my work schedule I was never able to participate in the live feedback session. We do plan to incorporate some of these meals into our future meal planning, and although some of the prep was daunting, it did helped me make healthy choices throughout the week – no quick stops for junk food snacks or meals. I will continue doing some meal prep for lunches and pre-chopping veggies for a couple dinners each week.
