I have a real habit of buying way too much summer fruit. Every week, I get a little carried away, coming home with boxes of peaches and berries, and then spend the rest of the week racing to use them before they turn to mush.

Living in Oklahoma, I’m right in the middle of a summer turf war — peaches roll in from the east (Georgia) and the west (Colorado), and everyone has strong opinions about which is best. For the record, my vote is for Colorado’s Palisade peaches. Yet when it comes to blackberries, my vote is on Florida. They’re big, juicy and packed with flavor. Which is why I think you’re gonna enjoy this blackberry peach smoothie I created from my kitchen fruit basket.

Two blackberry peach smoothies on the counter ready to enjoy

One quick blend and I was hooked. I made it again the very next morning. The peaches keep it sweet, the blackberries add just enough tartness to balance it out, and that deep purple color is honestly gorgeous. It’s cold, refreshing, and exactly what I want to be drinking when the counter’s overflowing with summer fruit. If you’re in the same boat, this one’s for you.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Blackberries: These juicy berries bring a bold, slightly tart flavor and a gorgeous deep-purple color to the smoothie.
  • Peach: The sweet, juicy flavor that balances the blackberries perfectly. Fresh peaches are wonderful when they’re in season (just freeze first to chill down the smoothie), but store-bought bag of frozen peaches work, too.
  • Banana: My favorite way to naturally sweeten a smoothie. It adds creaminess without needing any added sugar.
  • Almond milk: The liquid that brings everything together. You can also check out my recommended almond milk brands.
  • Collagen peptides: An easy way to add a little extra protein. They blend right in and let the blackberry and peach flavors shine.

How to Make Blackberry Peach Smoothie

I love having a few smoothie recipes in my back pocket that I can make without thinking too hard. This blackberry peach smoothie is one of them. It’s quick and made with simple ingredients:

Adding blackberries to a blender
  1. Add blackberries to the blender.
Pouring almond milk over blackberry peach smoothie ingredients
  1. Add peach, banana, and almond milk.
Collagen peptides added to blended blackberry smoothie ingredients
  1. Blend on low, then increase to high until smooth and creamy. Add the collagen peptides.
Blended blackberry peach smoothie in a blender
  1. Blend again on low until fully dissolved.
Pouring blackberry peach smoothie in a glass
  1. Pour into your favorite glass.
Blackberry smoothie garnished with fresh blackberries, hemp hearts, and mint
  1. Top with a few backberries, a sprinkle of hemp seeds, and a sprig of mint, then serve right away.

Recipe Tips

  • Blend the blackberries well. Blackberry seeds can be a little stubborn. Let your blender run for an extra 15–20 seconds to get the smoothest texture possible.
  • Don’t skip the peach skin. Peach skin blends up beautifully and adds fiber and flavor.
  • Make frozen meal prep smoothie packs. Portion the blackberries, peaches, and banana into freezer bags ahead of time. When you’re ready, just add the ingredients and blend.

Recipe Notes

  • Make it extra creamy: Swap some of the almond milk for Greek yogurt. It creates a richer texture and makes the smoothie feel a little more indulgent.
  • Boost the protein: While collagen peptides blend in seamlessly, you can also add your favorite homemade protein powder.
  • Mix up the fruit: No peaches? Nectarines make an easy swap. You can also add strawberries or raspberries for even more berry flavor.
  • Add some leafy green vegetables: A handful of baby spinach blends right in and pairs surprisingly well with the peach and blackberry flavors.
