Smoothie Challenge Reviews
What past challengers say after a week of smoothies.
I joined the smoothie challenge to be able to be more consistent with making smoothies. I do plan on continuing to make smoothies on the daily now. I’ve always just made them on occasion for myself & family. I’m proud that I actually stuck with it the whole week. I noticed on day 2 or 3 that I wasn’t as hungry throughout the day & when I did want to snack I made better choices. I really liked all of these recipes that we made. The honey turmeric recipe is one that we like better juiced. I liked how each smoothie has different health benefits to incorporate into your journey or lifestyle changes towards better health & wellness. I am so grateful to have stumbled onto this challenge. I appreciate all the hard work that Jen Hansard has done! Thank you!!
I loved this challenge! I have done of few of these and this is by far the most user friendly challenge I’ve ever done. It was so much fun to try new smoothies and gave me great ideas to keep making my own. This challenge was so thought out that I really don’t have any suggestions besides maybe a Support group would be easier to use than a website. But the website was pretty simple once I figured it out. I’m proud of myself for sticking with this the whole time. I also think I will continue to prep my smoothie in advance because it makes thing so much easier (especially since I get up at 4 am and don’t have much brain power that early). Thank you so much!
Vitamix included a link to this challenge in one of their newsletters. I expected a new recipe every day and nothing more but it was much much more than that: Zoom intro to the challenge motivation to begin the challenge and stick with it every day access to a grocery list and all the recipes way in advance so participants had plenty of time to get all the ingredients they would need and daily newsletters to introduce each day’s smoothie with photo links to similar recipes and the incentive to write daily reviews and post a photo. Breakfast is my least favorite meal of the day so I usually have a healthy smoothie. I joined the challenge because I wanted variety. I was in a rut with the same one every day with very little variation and that usually occurred when I was out of something I always used. I enjoyed them but didn’t want to become bored to the same old same old. The recipes I saw online didn’t look all that inviting. Enter this challenge from a healthy smoothie expert! The challenge has given me the variety I wanted the opportunity to link to other similar recipes that look good and the motivation to add more ingredients from my crisper. There was only one smoothie I didn’t like but the problem was on my end and was not the recipe’s fault. I am pleased that I stuck with the challenge every day. I am full for longer and I no longer have cravings between lunch and dinner. I liked the challenge as it was and have no suggestions to alter it. I would like to do the challenge again next year…and the next and the next.
I joined this challenge to learn what combines well when making healthy smoothies. I’ve always added ice before and hated how they separated and could never get a good consistency. These recipes were so easy and adaptable to adding more greens seeds protein powder etc and still were delicious!!! I also loved the advice of freezing ingredients ahead of time (layered in portions for each smoothie) brilliant way to make it simple!!!! Simple in my life makes sense!!! Thank you so much!!!
This was an interesting challenge I learned some new recipes. I’m not sure if it helped me lose a couple of pounds. I feel similar to before maybe less bloated . I Am proud of myself for trying new smoothie recipes. I would like more recipes with greens and seasonal fruit apples pears oranges I also enjoy berries and perhaps warming smoothies in winter.,
This was a great collection of recipes. I will make all of them again. Next time can we have some recipes with less bananas (glucose issues) and less fruit with more vegetables. Thank you for all of the work you did to make this happen.
I really love this challenge. The only downside I saw was that. The ingredients weren’t always fully listed on the website theyat jen shared. And I always tried to find the p d f but wasn’t always that’s full otherwise I loved it
I’m so impressed with the extensive catalog of recipes and with Jen’s detailed daily email. There’s clearly so much love, attention, and hard work here! I’m a dedicated smoothie maker, but I’m always looking for new flavors.
I did my first Simple Green smoothie challenge a couple years ago and loved it. Great way to kickstart healthier eating. Loved all the recipes felt less bloated & sluggish this week. Proud of myself for sticking with it and trying new recipes. Wouldn’t change anything thank you!
I joined to reset my eating habits. It’s hard to eat well at work (I’m a flight attendant) and bringing whole-food smoothies with me on the road helps me know I can have at least a few servings of fresh fruit/veggies per day. A couple recipes took me out of my comfort zone but I made the ones I was “afraid of” as-written and they weren’t bad! I’m glad I took part.
I joined to start a new habit to get more fruits and vegetables in my diet.I loved the recipes, I never used to like smoothies but since I started using the simple green smoothie recipes I have changed my mind. I feel I am eating healthier now, not craving unhealthy snacks.I am proud that I completed the challenge and plan to make a smoothie daily from now on. I wouldn’t change a thing about the challenge. I really enjoyed it and looked forward to each days new recipe.
I joined to learn how to make some different kinds of smoothies which still taste good. I liked all the recipes and tried to follow them, so that I would know the base taste. I will add some greens or additional protein powder later on. I noticed the most energy with the Day 6 smoothie. Suggestion for change is to announce the winner on the day after Day 7, so to give people the same amount of time on day 7 as on the other days.
I have done a few other smoothie challenges with Jen and loved them. I was looking for some easy breakfasts (with the addition of protein powder to each smoothie) to get me out the door and have a healthy start to my day. I feel great knowing I have increased my phytonutrient intake and accomplished for sticking with it! 💪🏼 🍓 🍊 🍌 🥬🫐🫚
I joined to “force myself” to try different smoothie recipes (I typically rotate between only two smoothie recipes – Dr. Fuhrman’s “Peachy Green” and a “Beet Detox” I found on the internet). I loved all the recipes in this challenge except the Perfect Lemon one but that could easily be remedied for me by reducing the lemon content. I didn’t expect to feel any different because I already eat very clean but I actually do feel adding the smoothies boosted my energy. I literally feel healthier after this challenge which motivates me to continue to include daily smoothies with an increased variety of healthy ingredients. I really appreciated the healthiness of the recipes in this challenge! I’m proud of myself for making every single recipe as written except for substituting kale for spinach in the Best Green smoothie and for dutifully posting something every day (I rarely post on social media even private forums). The possibility of winning the Vitamix supply of Rewind green powders and Rawk the Year membership really helped to motivate me to post! I also enjoyed reading other people’s posts and looking at their photos. If I changed anything it would be my smoothie photos – they could certainly use some improvement and creativity!
I had gotten out of the habit of a daily smoothie and this challenge helped get me back on track! I love it when I feel good about what I’m eating and feeding my family!
