Smoothie Challenge Reviews
What past challengers say after a week of smoothies.
My Vitamix’s FAVORITE time of year!
I’m a repeat Rawstar and love coming back for more smoothie recipes that I’ll make all year. This challenge is always a way to say goodbye holidays cookie season is over time for a fresh start and I always feel good about myself at the end. I was surprised because the Honey Turmeric Smoothie was my favorite and proud of myself because 5 years ago I would’ve thought carrots and turmeric in a smoothie sounded disgusting and now I absolutely love those flavors! Pic is me after snowblowing our driveway how this Ohioan uses her post smoothie energy!
Smoothie Smash
I really enjoyed this smoothie challenge. All of the recipes were delicious. It really showcased how easy it is to be healthy. The smoothies were diverse too and I think that there was something there for everyone. One afternoon I was feeling hungry and wanted to reach into the “junk” cupboard. Then I remembered that I hadn’t had my smoothie yet for the day. It was the Epic Almond Smoothie. Delicious easy and quick to make. And filled me up until supper. Thank you SGS for continuing to share these challenges.
Addictively Green
This has been such a cleansing 10 days! These recipes are super easy to follow and make absolute delicious smoothies that I’m definitely adding to my go-to smoothie list! I had so much fun doing this challenge and can’t wait to do another 🙂
Awesome to be drinking smoothies again!
I am so glad I embarked to do the ten day challenge. I am thankful there was a challenge for me to try for the first time and have easy to follow recipes. Curated with the shopping list it made it easy to buy what I needed. I had done juicing/smoothing in the past prior to having my little one and would throw random fruits and veggies in my blender. I just wanted to eat more leafy greens and get more nutrients in. I found this ten day challenge had delicious recipes. I was able to find a few keepers for sure that I will start to prep for and have them on rotation. My absolute favorite smoothies were from day 1 day 2 day 3 day 7 and day 10. The best part I was able to share this journey with my husband and little one.
Colorful Mornings
Enjoying the beautiful rainbow of smoothies! Bright greens, beautiful purples – make me smile. All the smoothies have tasted amazing – I was a bit skeptical about adding the frozen cauliflower but it blended perfectly and didn’t change the taste at all. What a fun way to add fiber and vitamins.
Tried it and loved it!
Always thought it would be hard, but it isn’t. Really enjoyed trying the different smoothie combinations. Lost some weight and feel great. Thanks so much for doing it, Jen. I highly recommend. Try it—you’ll like it!!
Smitten with Smoothies
Great, fun, and easy challenge! I love having a daily smoothie. It’s an easy way to sneak veggies and other healthy items (ginger, turmeric, chia seeds, etc.) into your diet. Even when it doesn’t taste great (the lemon smoothie), it’s fairly easy to just gulp it down quickly and you know you’ve done something good for your body. I also liked trying new things in the smoothies (oat milk, cashew milk yogurt, cauliflower, collagen, etc.). My favorite smoothie was, hands down, the peanut butter banana one, sans the cacao powder, since I don’t like chocolate! This reminded me of peanut butter and banana sandwiches as a kid (e.g., nostalgia). A close second was the strawberry banana. This reminded me of a summer day, when you go get ice cream to beat the heat. Basically, they were two healthy, delicious milkshakes! A few things I accomplished this week were using the smoothie as a meal replacement, sticking to the recipes, even if I thought I wouldn’t like it, AND finishing all of the smoothie for the day, even if I didn’t like the taste. I can’t wait for the next one 😋
Smoothies for Life!
I really enjoyed this challenge. I’m not really big on fruits or veggies but I must say making these smoothies daily and watching the group post kept me motivated. And I’m excited about some of the new ingredients that were introduced to me. I will definitely will continue to make smoothies after this challenge. Thank you
New healthy recipes
I’m always looking for new ways to incorporate healthy foods into my diet. This challenge was a perfect way to do just that. Having them laid out day by day took all of the decisions out of play and allowed me to focus on other things.
Jumping jack flash with a dash
Loved it. Got me back on track after overdoing it through the holidays Lost a few “lbs”….can’t beat that Can’t wait for the next challenge !!!
Smoothing my way to good health
The smoothie challenge was just the kick-start I needed to get back on a healthy eating plan. With both kids off to college it has made it easier to keep the junk out of the house and reduce temptations. I have been reminded, by selecting healthy recipes, how much better I feel. I cannot wait to continue this path. Thank you, Jen, for providing great recipes and support.
Tantalize My Tastebuds
I enjoyed the introductory videos, which made you feel a part of the community and helped motivate me to begin. I thought the opportunity to rate the smoothies was a good way of giving input into which smoothies to exclude for the next challenge. The smoothie challenge book is a beautiful and colorful representation of health. I also enjoyed having the email that contained the shopping lists which I printed to make shopping for the ingredients that I did not have easier. I missed getting emails daily though to encourage me along. I am not a person who goes on Facebook often and the daily emails with the link made it easier to click into the Smoothie Challenge community and rate the smoothies. Although I didn’t enjoy all the smoothies, this challenge gave me the motivation to introduce a healthier habit, encouraged me to try new combinations of fruits and vegetables. Who would have thought of putting cauliflower in a smoothie? It was one of my favorites. The most important lesson learned from this challenge is that prepping ahead is key. Thanks, looking forward to a brand new daily habit.
New Found ENERGY from Smoothie Challenge!
The Smoothie Challenge was an AWESOME way to learn new recipes and find new/more energy. I often have had protein shakes mixed with spinach most days of the week. I wanted to find ways of introducing new recipes and see how my body would respond. This Challenge gave me the recipes (so I didn’t have to find and choose them). They offered options and suggestions I never would have thought of. Who knew that putting cauliflower in a smoothie would be so good?!I couldn’t taste it but the texture was creamy. I loved the Almond smoothie the best. It was like a healthy milkshake. Cashew milk is so good and light! Turmeric is not my favorite but I learned I can still use it but just lower the amount. Normally I would just skip using it altogether but the reviews on the blog and support group suggested lowering the amount. Great idea!! I love that I did this and will continue on with at least one smoothie a day. The resources to support us were great. Thanks so much team!!
The Feeling of a Smoothie
Who knew that a smoothie could evoke a feeling? This challenge easily fit into my life with its simplicity and variety. My favorite recipes were at the beginning of the challenge and the very last recipe that rounded out this 10 day boost to my routine. I loved the Beginner’s Luck Smoothie for it’s bright cheerful flavor. It had me feeling intrigued and alive. My other favorite was the last smoothie in the challenge, the Creamy Blueberry Smoothie that had me feeling cozy and comforted with its creaminess and burst of blueberry flavor. Thank you for making this fun and putting a kick in my step to get me moving to workout 3 times a week, which was one of my goals during the challenges and continuing forward.
Smoothin’ on Up
This was my first smoothie challenge and I look forward to future challenges. I enjoyed most of the recipes except for one and my favorite one was the first one – beginners luck smoothie. I am so glad that one was first because it maintained my enthusiasm for the majority of the challenge. The substitution list was invaluable to me and I found it to be very helpful. I join this challenge with a friend of mine and we are going to look forward to your app which we both signed up for during this challenge. I can’t wait to try the Popsicles and the meals and the margarita smoothies. Thank you so much for the opportunity to become a connoisseur of smoothies.
