As a parent, I know how challenging it can be to get kids to eat their veggies – especially the green ones. The answer for me came in a tasty cup of a fruit smoothie packed with fresh leafy greens, a green smoothie. Most kids love a sweet cold treat, so making this dessert-like beverage for breakfast has been the best healthy habit my family and I have made this year. I’ve created quite a few green smoothies for kids over the years.
Making green smoothies for kids is so much fun! It can be a family event and the health benefits are amazing— lots of green veggies, plenty of fruits, an abundant amount of nature’s vitamins, and you get what your body needs— like live enzymes and essential amino acids (protein).
1. Banana Split Green Smoothie for Kids
Blend up this sweet smoothie and watch your kiddos sip up some leafy green goodness without even knowing it! Top this yummy chocolate banana smoothie with a spoonful of coconut whipped cream and place a cherry on top for a fun, healthy treat.
2. Strawberry Banana Green Smoothie
We’ve combined four of our favorite fruits for this smoothie – and it’s a yummy one! The flavors are bright and sweet, and it’s full of fruity goodness. As far as nutrition goes, this smoothie offers up a bundle of antioxidants from vitamin C-rich oranges and strawberries, to potassium-loaded bananas, and anthrocyanin-packed blueberries. And don’t forget all the vitamin K and iron in the spinach.
3. Beginner’s Luck Green Smoothie
The Beginner’s Luck Green Smoothie is a great beginner friendly green smoothie recipe. It’s full of iron, potassium and vitamins galore— AND tastes like a tropical treat from all the island fruit.
