This beauty smoothie helps bring out that naturally glowing skin with plant-based ingredients that taste delicious together.

I can’t count the number of battles I’ve had with my skin over the years. From acne, to dry skin to oily skin to sunburns… I can go every which way. I’ve learned a few constants over the years to keep my luscious skin between the ups and downs: hydration, fiber and healthy fats. Yep— those three things are the magic ingredients to beautiful luscious skin.

How this beauty smoothie helps your skin

Wanna know why? Your skin is the largest organ on your body. And like your other organs, it’s affected by what you feed it and how other organs are functioning around it. I’m gonna be blunt here: if you’re having plumbing problems, there’s a good chance it’ll show on your skin. If foods are moving through you and leaving the body at a healthy pace, then the toxins will make it out via bowel movements. Yet if you’re clogged up, the toxins will find another way out… and the skin is the next avenue (and it isn’t pretty).

The Beauty Smoothie

To help keep my skin healthy, I rely in this beauty smoothie — SPA Skin Cleanser. It’s loaded with fiber, hydrating coconut water and healthy fats. It’s a gem of goodness and the taste is amazing too.

This smoothie is a great one to bring on the go. I like to store my smoothies in mason jars and use eco-friendly lids that travel well like these Bamboo Wood Lids for Mason Jars.

      Hey Esperanza,

We recommend adding one smoothie to your daily diet! You can have it in the morning or as a afternoon pick-me-up. Whatever works best for you!!

  2. Aaron says:

Do you recommend to drink this right away or can it be in the fridge overnight? Thanks!

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

      Hey Aaron,

Great question! Our smoothie can last in the fridge up to two days in a sealed air-tight container. Just give it a little shake and you are good to go. If you don’t want the color to fade at all, add some lemon juice to it.

  25. Justine says:

Hi! I’d love to make a smoothie with avocado and this combination sounds amazing. The problem is, I can’t find any frozen pineapple and I find buying fresh pineapple a bit too expensive where I live, at least in winter. What can I use to replace the pineapple? I have thought of oranges, because I read that avocado should be combined best with acid fruit. But oranges don’t blend so well… Do you have any tips?

  26. Stephanie Grommer says:

This is my go-to beauty recipe in the summer! I love the coconut water + pineapple combo.

  27. Susy says:

  28. Elíz says:

First of all, thank you for the amazing recipes and tips!
I have a question, because I have some trouble with one of your main ingredient:
Can I use cucumber instead of spinach? (I have read “Why you should rotate your greens” article, but I can’t find cucumber in it.)
It’s hard to get fresh spinach here in my country right now.
Thank you and sorry for my English! 🙂

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Eliz!

Thanks for reaching out! We love adding cucumber to our smoothies :). However, keep in mind that cucumber is actually a fruit! There are so many different leafy greens you can use in our recipes–kale, chard, beet greens, romaine, etc., so if you can, we’d recommend adding at least one to give your smoothie some veggie goodness. However, if leafy greens are hard to come by where you live, totally feel free to use cucumber!

      Hope that helps :). Cheers!

    • Elíz says:

      Thank you for your answer!
Oh I did not think cucumber is a fruit! Well then I will keep this in my mind and I will use other leafy greens, like cabbage or kale, because I like them too and I can buy them freshly anytime. (I just love cucumber, this was the reason of my question :D)

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Eliz!

I love cucumber, too :). Always feel free to toss it into your smoothies, as well! It’s especially yummy with pineapple and mint :).

  29. Jackie says:

I really want to try your smoothies especially as meal replacements. My major problem is that I am allergic to avocado. Is there anything I can use to replace it as a healthy fat?

  30. Lydia says:

You had mention where you buy your coconut water from, but not a name. Can you please give us a name of a good coconut water.

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Lydia,

Looking for a great coconut water? I personally love reaching for Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s brand coconut water, as their label only has one ingredient…with no additives or added sugar! Don’t have a TJ’s or WF’s nearby? Ensuring that your coconut water is free of any additions is the key to finding a great option!

  31. Pat says:

I cannot move your site into my primary sending area. Any ideas? I tried the press and move. Nope. Help. Old lady needs your help.

Hope you guys try it and enjoy it!!!

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

  34. Josephine says:

So I stumbled across this website and I’m eager to try this recipe, (I have acne prone skin), and all the other recipes.

The only problem is that I don’t have a fancy blender. But I do have a juicer. Could I make these recipes in my juicer?

What are the benefits of fresh smoothies over fresh juice? Or does it not matter?

  35. Bella says:

Very good, approved recipe 😉 thank you

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie says:

YAY! Thanks Bella, glad it has your stamp of approval! CHEERS!

  36. Lucbabe says:

Hi, when you indicate fresh spinach( or fresh greens in general) can I substitute it with frozen ones instead? Thanks!!

  37. Pauline says:

I’ve recently started having green smoothies, a number of your recipes have pineapple and some have kiwi fruit. I’m allergic to these two fruit, can you please recommend what other fruit or vegetable I can use in their place. Thanks for a fab website and yummy recipes!

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Pauline,

We’ve got you covered! Some great substitutes for pineapple are orange + mango. And reach for mango, orange, tangerine, or lime in place of kiwi!

Hope this helps! Reach out with any questions! 🙂

  38. Lola says:

Do you recommend a particular brand of coconut water? Thanks!

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Lola,

Great question! We suggest reaching for coconut water that is unsweetened and free of additives or preservatives. Personally, we love reaching for brands from Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods.

  39. Ida says:

    Hi there!
What would be a good alternative to coconut water? I unfortunately cannot find it in my country, and I think the smoothie is a little too tasteless if I use regular water instead.

  40. Joy says:

This is a great recipe, u guys are doing a great work.
Can I take it every morning.

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Joy,

Thanks for your leafy love! This is one of our favorite recipes! Want to enjoy this recipe every day? We do suggest rotating your leafy greens to prevent oxalate build-up. So one week blend this recipe with spinach, and then the next week blend it with a green from another leafy green family like kale. Learn more about the importance of rotating your leafy greens here…

  41. Stephanie says:

Is this a good shake to drink every morning? I can add flax seed or chia seeds to it? Also in making smoothies in advance how do you store the avocado in a jar or bag?

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Stephanie,

This is a great morning smoothie! Adding flaxseed or chia seeds is a great idea! When using your green smoothie as a meal replacement we suggest adding protein + healthy fats to ensure you’re fueling your body with a complete meal. Learn more here…

We personally love freezing our avocado! ou simply purée/mash it, put it in a air tight bag, and place it in the freezer. It might help to put a little lemon juice in with it, too! Don’t be surprised if the color is less of a vibrant green and more of a dull brown–it still has a great taste and lots of nutrients!

      Hope this helps! 🙂

  42. heather says:

I generally drink a green smoothie every morning as a breakfast meal replacement, but I add plant protein powder, like Vega…you don’t have protein powder in any of your recipes – is there a reason?

  43. desiree says:

Love all the info and your site
I’m in for the next 30 day challenge

Just wondering about turning recipes like this into meal replacement.
Would I still add both a half avocado and hemp hearts? Or leave out the extra avocado? Or does it matter? Lol
    ☺ thanks in advance

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Desiree,

Great question! This is one of my favorite recipes (I add ginger, yum!) + perfect for using as a meal replacement because it’s already packed with healthy fats from the avocado! Simply add a protein like hemp hearts, your tummy + taste buds will thank you!

  44. MJ says:

    Hi 🙂
so i have been reading a lot of your recipes and they include pineapple. i don’t really like pineapple as it makes my smoothie taste bitter. and so i was wondering if i can substitute pineapple with something else?

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      HI MJ,

Not a fan of pineapple? No worries, we’ve got you covered! Orange, grapefruit, + mango are all great substitutes! You can also try adding a natural sweetener like honey, maple syrup, or dates to your green smoothie to help cover any bitter flavor from the pineapple.

Learn more about our favorites here…

      Hope this helps! 🙂
