Hmm, the day 3 conversation link keeps bringing me to the day 1 conversation. So, this will be in the wrong place. For me, meal planning is a big challenge. I just don’t seem to plan before arriving at the grocery and then I run up and down the aisles grabbing my usual items. I think using your recipe guides will help me to better plan, even if it is in the parking lot before going in to shop. I can look at the recipes, determine what I need, go in and get those items and head home. Enjoyed the masterclass! I always learn something new. I wish I could download the videos and view off-line though so I don’t have to watch with it buffering every 5-10 seconds. Unfortunately, rural internet is still very slow and antiquated (DSL at 6mbps).
No worries, Liz! Just glad you’re here! Meal planning can be a huge challenge, especially when life happens and gets busy! I always find going in with a set list helps me as well!
I watched the class videos after work. Very informative. I like your upbeat thoughts on food. I have tried and will try more recipes. I do not do facebook or instragam.
Hi Suzanne! So glad you enjoyed the videos! We have awesome recipes on our blog so head over there to check them out with no need for social media!
My interest is in the Mandoline as it would help me to make carrot slices for salad, and thin apple slices for my dehydrator and so on. Nice tool to have.
Hi Tammie! The Madonline is amazing, makes it so easy to quickly prep your veggies or fruits!
This is the perfect starter guide. I’m a few months into my plant journey but am always excited to learn more. The tofu press might be my next purchase – I’m new to tofu but think this could be a valuable tool.
I own an older Vitamix and also have a KitchenAid with many attachments. I’m downsizing in a month to a 25 foot travel trailer, so won’t be able to take both appliances. I am considering getting a newer Vitamix model that has the food processor bowl option. Then, I won’t need the KitchenAid. I will be able to visit farmer’s markets as I travel the US and process the veggies myself to eat healthy while on the road the next few years. I never heard of an almond cow, but I just blend coconut in my Vitamix for milk. BTW, would you share your homemade deodorant recipe. I have been switching over to homemade products (shampoo, hand wash, et al) as they run out and was looking for a deodorant recipe to start using soon. Comment: you mentioned concern about salt for why you buy raw nuts, however, the canned beans are high salt. I cook dry beans in bulk and then seal them in freezer bags to use later (maybe put them in your Souper cubes?). Thank you for this Masterclass series!
Hi Liz! If you spring for the newer vitamix you will fall in love! You can find the homemade deodorant at this link! Love your idea to cook dry beans in bulk!
Hi Robin! Thanks so much for your awesome feedback! The tofu press is so cool!
The Vitamix and the Milkcow and 2 items that excites me the most and I will make an investment for. I have the nutribullet but sometimes it does not blend kale and spinach all that great for me so getting the Vitamix will definitely give the consistency I’m looking for in my smoothies. Now I have never heard of a Milkcow! I would love to explore making my own milk.
Hi Cheena! So glad you’re looking into the Vitamix and the Almond cow. Both are investments but so worth it!
#1 Kitchen Tool – Vitamix Blender 36019
Hi Amalie! Agree! We love the Vitamix here at simple green smoothies!
I am already a big prepping fan. When I make soups and morning glory cookies, I always make enough for 6 or 12 depending on the recipe. I cook extra brown rice and quinoa and freeze the excess. That way i only dirty my kitchen once. lol. Work smarter not harder right.
Hi Denise! So glad you see the value in meal prepping! It can really help stay on top of your meals and keep you motivated to continue eating healthy!
I really like the spiralizer. I would love to make the noodles and try to create more fun dishes. I also like the Berkley because I do drink so much water. I love it all. Thank you
Hi Tammy! The spiralizer is amazing, as is the berkey! You are so welcome!
I am a member of Rawk The Year, and love access to so many great recipes. I especially like the ability to search by ingredients, so I can use up what I have on hand.
Hi Alane! Love your feedback!! Thanks so much for rawkin’ with me!
What was in the jar behind the hemp hearts and chia?
I was wondering that too.
Hi Calli! They were just another jar of chia seeds!
Hi, so far I’ve enjoyed video 1 and 2. I’m so glad you shared your favorite tools, and provided us with a download file with the links to buy these tools, so awesome . Thank you! Currently, I’m interested in the spiralizer, the stackable ice trays, straws, and more mason jars with lids you recommend. The spiralizer will help me to start making zoodles and to stay away from pasta which I love but does not love me. The ice cube tray to freeze soups will be wonderful, because I love soup. I’m only cooking for myself so this tool will help me not to waste soup and I can cook once a week and freeze my beloved soups. For awhile, I’ve been trying to find the perfect straw; I’m will to try your straw recommendation.
Hi Joyce! Thanks so much for your kind words! The spiralizer gets used soooo much at my house, we love “noodles”! You are so right, the ice cube tray is great for making a soup then saving the rest for later!
I have several of these kitchen products already. I have a ninja blender but would eventually like to upgrade to a vitamix. I would also like to eventually get a Berkey filter as I’ve recently noticed my pets are having some urinary/bladder issues related to too much calcium that I believe is coming from tap water. We switched to spring water but I still think a filter would be best.
Hi Rosanna, it sounds like you’re rawkin’ in the kitchen already! The Berkey is an amazing investment!
I think the tools mentioned are nice to have but not. Must. I think as I go through the eating healthy journey getting a tool as a reward would make it easier. I think the tofu press would be nice.
Hi Kathy! They are definitely nice to have to cut down on some extra time and prep work!
This was an interesting class. I like the idea of a nut-milk-maker. I see that there are several options on Amazon. I always like to cut back on packaging and preservatives and additives as much as possible.
I may eventually upgrade to a better high power blender. Right now, my Ninja blender does a decent job with smoothies.
The other appliance I may eventually purchase is the rice maker. However, the Instapot can function as rice maker, too.
You can also make nut milks if you have a high-powered blender and you can strain the pulp out (or not). If I make cashew milk, I usually don’t strain. Almonds are a little more gritty so I will strain that milk.
This is a great explanation!
Thanks so much for your feedback, Susan! The Almond cow is amazing! I’ve tried the ninja blender as well!
The Almond Cow AND the Berkey Water Filter!!
I’d never heard of the Cow before today!
I’ll have to check on the price of both and eventually budget them in 😉
I already use a coconut milk product, but would love to have a quicker way to make my own 🙂
Less preservatives and clean water = Healthier Angie
Hi Angie! The Berkey is amazing, as is the Almond Cow! Makes making my own almond milk a breeze!
Having a Vitamix would be my #1 kitchen tool to have right now. Though since there are just sooooo many models to choose from & it is such a huge investment – I’m reluctant to get one at all! Having one would make it easier to make smoothies or soups & would become a big part of beginning & maintaining a plant based lifestyle. Hmmmm…
Hi Suzanne! You are right, so many models but I love Venturist V1200! It’s definitely an investment but makes smoothies and soups soooo easy!
