Strawberry Ginger Zinger Green Smoothie

Strawberries aren’t just delicious, they are also one of the healthiest foods you can eat (or drink). They are chockfull of antioxidants that provide cardiovascular benefits as well as having a positive effect on lowering blood sugar. Not to mention a serving of strawberries has more vitamin C than an orange.

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties as well as aiding in digestion and helping the body naturally detoxify. It may also help alleviate pain – from arthritis to menstrual pain and more. Such a great thing to add into your daily green smoothie to give it some pep and up the nutrients even more.

Description

This is not your basic strawberry banana green smoothie. Oh, no. This has a kick of fresh ginger to wake up your mouth. And it’s just the right amount. The almond milk and banana make this smoothie taste like a milkshake.


Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Blend spinach and almond milk until smooth.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Notes

*Use at least one frozen fruit to make the green smoothie cold.

    Hi Shola,

    No almond milk? No problem! Swap in another liquid base you do love. Some of my favorite swaps are coconut milk, hemp milk, and cashew milk!

    I added a couple carrots, an apple a celery stalk a sprig of mint and a half cup orange juice with no almond milk.It was a great.

    I like to use my digital scale to measure fruits and veggies. Could you tell me how many ounces of spinach and how many ounces of fruit are needed to make the “perfect blend”? Thank you in advance!
