Strawberry Mango Smoothie


Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this Strawberry Mango Smoothie was created by my very first SGS rawkstar team member, Dan Mottayaw.

That was 6 years ago, and now he’s got a little baby girl who will be gulping this smoothie down in a few more months, I’m sure! I mean, what’s not to love? Strawberries + mango is a fabulous combination.

Strawberries Have More Vitamin C Than Oranges

It’s true! Strawberries knock it out of the park in the vitamin C department. A diet rich in vitamin C will help keep your immune system in tip-top shape.

Strawberries are also low in sugar and high in fiber making them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush and keep your levels more stable.

Mango: The Best Tropical Fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mangoes. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. Juicy, sweet, chock full of vitamin A, fiber, and best eaten standing over the sink with juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie and it’s instantly got an island vibe going on. I like to buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s almost always cheaper than my local grocery store.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Description

This smoothie is also known as “Pink Flamango”. Strawberry and mango are the perfect compliments to one another in this recipe.  Both are mildly sweet, and draw out the flavors of the other. Add some creamy almond milk to the mix and you get a smoothie worth blending over and over.


Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup mango

Instructions

  1. Place spinach and almond milk in blender.
  2. Puree until smooth.
  3. Add remaining fruit and blend again.

Notes

Use at least one frozen fruit to make the smoothie cold or serve over ice.

    Day 2 smoothie challenge – I’m not a fan of this one. Maybe I’m comparing it too much to yesterday’s smoothie, a home run in flavor & texture. This seemed a little bland. I added more almond milk because it came out too thick.

    I love mangoes but the hubs doesn’t. Having the strawberries (his favorite fruit) disguise the mango is a win for me.

    I love smoothies. I love how you cannot taste the spinach which makes it great for kids, they don’t know how healthy it is.

    I think this is my favorite! I made mine taste the best with coconut and cashew milk I really like it a little chunky I also added a drop of lemon essential oil soooo gooood
