Strawberry Mango Smoothie


Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this Strawberry Mango Smoothie was created by my very first SGS rawkstar team member, Dan Mottayaw.

That was 6 years ago, and now he’s got a little baby girl who will be gulping this smoothie down in a few more months, I’m sure! I mean, what’s not to love? Strawberries + mango is a fabulous combination.

Strawberries Have More Vitamin C Than Oranges

It’s true! Strawberries knock it out of the park in the vitamin C department. A diet rich in vitamin C will help keep your immune system in tip-top shape.

Strawberries are also low in sugar and high in fiber making them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush and keep your levels more stable.

Mango: The Best Tropical Fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mangoes. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. Juicy, sweet, chock full of vitamin A, fiber, and best eaten standing over the sink with juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie and it’s instantly got an island vibe going on. I like to buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s almost always cheaper than my local grocery store.

This Strawberry Mango Smoothie is a Nutrition Powerhouse

Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Description

This smoothie is also known as “Pink Flamango”. Strawberry and mango are the perfect compliments to one another in this recipe.  Both are mildly sweet, and draw out the flavors of the other. Add some creamy almond milk to the mix and you get a smoothie worth blending over and over.


Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup mango

Instructions

  1. Place spinach and almond milk in blender.
  2. Puree until smooth.
  3. Add remaining fruit and blend again.

Notes

Use at least one frozen fruit to make the smoothie cold or serve over ice.

    I found this one not as sweet as the basic. I am a sucker for sweets. I am trying to reduce it though. I think next time I’ll add a 1/2 of banana.

    I found this one a little bland, I kind of wanted something a little tart so I added a little bit of unsweetened Lemonade for a kick of tartness and I loved it!

    The smoothie was pretty good. I think the smoothie needs to be sweeter. Add another half of a banana.

    Day#2…. I like flavor… I read ingredients wrong and didn’t use enough strawberries but flavor good!

    This one got 4 stars, only because the color is a little off putting. Close your eyes and it goes to 5 stars. It’s delicious and so healthy.
    Looking forward to the 30 day challenge and trying the carrot & banana version of this one.

    Love that this is not too sweet . I used oat milk because I don’t really like almond milk.

    Can’t give 5 stars because I swapped ingredients. I only had kale on hand so it’s a little bit stronger than spinach. I also had to substitute out mixed berries for strawberries because I didn’t have them. So in essence mine is the purple flamingo. I actually added my plant-based vanilla protein to make this a meal replacement shake and that helped boost the flavor a little bit. I will try it again when I have the proper ingredients.

    I tend to make water my go to liquid base and always forget how awesome almond milk is (especially with strawberries) this was a perfect yummy one to start off my birthday !

    This smoothie makes us enjoy the taste of strawberries with a green touch and a fresh and not-too-sweet flavour. Very good!

    The colour isn’t the nicest but I was pleasantly surprised at the lightness of the flavour. I loudly make again.

    I really thought this was going to be tart with no banana and my unsweetened cashew milk but it was fabulous! I love only consuming whole fruits and vegetables without adding protein powders!
