Why I Love This Apple Cider Vinegar Drink
A drink only works if you actually want to make it again tomorrow. Here’s why this one has stuck around in my kitchen:
- It’s tangy, lightly sweet and warmly spiced, with a bright apple flavor.
- Raw honey balances the sharp tang of the vinegar, so you get a smooth sip without the harsh bite.
- Just three pantry ingredients and a couple of minutes, with no blender or special tools.
- Make a jug and enjoy it hot or cold, at home, at work, or on the go.

Ingredients You’ll Need
With just a few pantry staples, you can make a lightly spiced apple cider vinegar drink. You probably already have these ingredients at home:
- Raw honey: This golden, naturally sweet nectar balances the tanginess of the vinegar and is a source of antioxidants. Look for raw or unfiltered honey in the natural foods aisle.
- Apple cider vinegar: Choose organic, raw, and unfiltered apple cider vinegar for the best flavor. You’ll usually find it near the salad dressings or natural foods section.
- Ground cinnamon: This warm, aromatic spice ties the whole drink together and is naturally full of antioxidants. A sprinkle helps mellow out the vinegar’s tang. Find it in the baking aisle, or for extra freshness, buy cinnamon sticks and grind them yourself at home.

How to Make Apple Cider Vinegar Drink Recipe
If you want a quick, tangy sip that comes together in minutes, this apple cider vinegar drink recipe is for you. Here’s how to make it in a few simple steps:
- Add 1–2 teaspoons of raw honey and some ground cinnamon to a glass or mug. Stir them together until they’re nicely blended.
- Pour in raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Stir until the honey completely dissolves.
- Fill the glass with room-temperature water. Give it a good stir so all the flavors mingle.
- Sip it immediately while it’s fresh, or store it in the fridge for later. Just give it a quick stir before drinking if it settles.

Storage Tip
For best results, make your apple cider vinegar drink fresh, but you can also prepare it ahead of time. Store it in a sealed glass jar or bottle in the fridge for up to 2–3 days. Give it a good shake before sipping, since the honey and cinnamon may settle at the bottom.
Easy Swaps and Add-Ins
This apple cider vinegar drink recipe is refreshing as written, but you can also customize the flavor to suit your taste. Here are some easy ideas to try:
- Sweetener swap: Not into honey? Try pure maple syrup, agave nectar, or a few drops of liquid stevia for a lighter, lower-calorie option.
- Spice it up: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or fresh ginger for a warming kick.
- Citrus twist: Squeeze in fresh lemon for a bright, tangy boost, or a splash of orange juice for a sweeter twist that’s high in vitamin C.
- Herbal refresh: Fresh mint leaves add a cool, clean flavor, while rosemary gives an earthy, aromatic note for a more elevated sip.

Common Questions
It tastes tangy, lightly sweet and warmly spiced. The raw honey and cinnamon round out the sharpness of the vinegar, and starting with a smaller amount of vinegar makes it even milder.
Apple cider vinegar is a pantry staple with a tangy flavor that works in dressings, marinades and drinks. When combined with raw honey and cinnamon, it becomes a sweet, tangy and warm drink that’s rich in antioxidants.
The best way to drink apple cider vinegar is to dilute 1–2 tablespoons in a glass of water. Adding raw honey and cinnamon enhances the flavor and softens the acidity. Many people enjoy it in the morning or before meals.
Yes, but only in moderation. Drinking diluted ACV in small amounts is generally safe, but too much can irritate the throat, damage enamel, or upset the stomach. Experts recommend limiting intake to 1–2 tablespoons per day, ideally spaced out, and always diluted in water or another liquid.

Hi All,
This is more a question rather than a comment. When should you drink this? Morning or evening or does it matter?
I’m going to try it this weekend.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Good question, Diane. This is an energizing tonic meant for morning consumption. However, if you have a longer night of activity to get through, it would be a healthy option than a caffeinated beverage.
This is a beneficial blog on Apple Cider Vinegar and its benefits. You mentioned every aspect of it including recipes. I have been drinking this drink with honey for a long time. This writing is valuable to me. I could understand many things from this helpful blog. I have three stenting in my heart. How many doses should I drink? I also prefer organic products.
Hi Shrea! So glad you loved this one! I’d suggest taking this in moderation, so not too many a day. I’d also consult your Dr. to be sure it’s the right fit for you!
I’ve been trying to drink more ACV and love adding the cinnamon. It makes the whole thing easier to drink.
Hi Erin! We could all add a little ACV to our diets for sure. It can also be so hard to get down!! Cinnamon is such a great idea!
I am looking forward to try this recipe! I love that I can also use it as a substitute for buttermilk as well! Currently I have kinda ‘crappy’ ACV so I’m going to head out and get some good quality ACV. I think it will make a difference!!! Thank you!
