ingredients for a mango smoothie recipe inside a blender container.
  • Mango: Mangos are packed with beta-carotene, which has protective effects against skin cancer. Mango also contains vitamin A, C, folate and potassium.
  • Orange: Oranges are an excellent source vitamin C, which supports a healthy immune system. Oranges are also a good source for fiber, which is associated with digestive health and weight loss. It also serves as some extra liquid in this mango smoothie.
  • Turmeric: Turmeric has powerful anti-inflammatory properties due to the active compound curcumin. The strong medicinal effects of turmeric work at the molecular level to tame inflammation that leads to diseases like heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and Alzheimerโ€™s. With a beautiful golden color, turmeric delivers powerful antioxidants for boosting your immune system. This recipe only calls for ยฝ teaspoon, so you wonโ€™t taste the turmeric in this smoothie but will still get the health benefits. You can swap out the dried powdered turmeric for fresh turmeric in this mango smoothie. Use about a ยฝ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel first, then grate it before adding to the blender.
  • Cashew yogurt: The cashew vegan yogurt in this mango smoothie is packed with live active probiotics, as well as plant-based protein. Enhance your gut microbiota and boost your immune system as you sip on this smoothie. Cashew yogurt also contains heart-healthy fats and keeps you full for hours.
  • Cashew milk: I use cashew milk as an alternative to dairy. It adds a creamy thickness + irresistible nutty flavor to this mango smoothie. Cashews contain heart-healthy fats, folate and magnesuim.

Fresh vs Frozen Mango

Personally, I typically buy frozen mango from Costco, because the price can’t be beat. Yet if it’s on sale, or fresh from a market, then I’ll spring for non-frozen. If you’re using a fresh mango, then I’ve got some tips to help you easily peel + core a mango.

How much does one mango yield?

It all depends on the size of the mango. A small mango may only yield ยฝ to 1 cup of mango flesh. Yet I’ve been able to get 2 full cups out of some mangos! If using fresh, it’s okay to eyeball the measurement before adding it to your mango smoothie. The more mango, the better, right?!

Mango Smoothie Recipe

Add the cashew milk, cashew yogurt, mango, orange and turmeric to the blender. Blend until smooth. Add more cashew milk or water for a thinner consistency.

Unlike green smoothies, this smoothie doesn’t have leafy greens that need to be chopped up before adding other ingredients. So don’t be afraid to toss all the ingredients in at once.

Thick, creamy and tropical, this nourishing mango smoothie recipe is the perfect way to start your day! Enjoy often during cold and flu season for a healthy immune boost!

I love smoothies with tumeric in it and this one is no exception. I used water instead of cashew milk and it was creamy enough. It is super refreshing. Next time I’ll try it with a little lime or lemon juice added

The color is appealing and this is very creamy. I used almond milk and Greek yogurt, also added a scoop of collagen peptides. I have rheumatoid arthritis and am trying to add anti-inflammatories to my diet. Love the turmeric in this one!

  3. Why is it called Turmeric Mango Smoothie if there is no turmeric? Just wondering…

  4. Your Mango Smoothie recipe needs to be revised to reflect that the 1/2 navel Orange needs to be PEELED. Nowhere in the recipe does it say to peel the orange! This is very confusing since your photo shows the Orange unpeeled. This could lead to ruined Mango Smoothies!

    1. I had the same concern! The picture shows the Peel on the orange, but no mention of peeling the orange! Thank you for asking the question!

      1. Hey Valerie – no worries! Def go ahead and peel that orange. We were just taking artistic license with our pics. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. This looks so great! How much turmeric do we use if we grate the root? Is it the same amount as the turmeric found in the spice aisle? Thanks!

  6. This mango smoothing looks delish! I had a quick question…do you blend your oranges with the rind and all? I usually peel or cut the rind off and just use the pulp, but your pics show the whole kit and kaboodle in the blender so I just wanted to double check! Thank you for all of your terrific smoothie recipes! My daughters and I love them!

    1. It also shows the mango with peel on in the blender which is even weirder than showing the orange with the peel.

    2. Oooh great question! So some of our photos show the whole or cut fruit with the peel or skin in tact. That is purely for artistic purposes. Def follow the direction given in recipes when it says to add ‘peeled’ fruit. Jen likes to peel most of the skin away on citrus fruits, yet leave some of the white ‘pith’ as that contains the most nutrients.

  7. This tastes like and Orange Julep!! I added 2 tbsps. cashews and I cup cashew milk as I did not have the yogurt available. Smooth, tasty and another winner from SGS!! Rawk on!

      1. Hi Liz! Def blend without the peel, yet leave a bit of the white pith if possible. That’s where a lot of the nutrients come from. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. In the picture, it shows the peels on the oranges. Were those removed prior to blending or did you leave them on?
