Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:

  • Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
  • Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
  • Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
  • Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
  • Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.

Recipe Variations

  • Protein boost: Add 1 serving of whey protein isolate or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
  • Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
  • Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
  • Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
  • Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.

Storage Tips

Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

SMOOOOOOTH Strawberry Banana Smoothie, great taste. Beautiful color! Adding the cauliflower who knew that getting your veggies was that easy for the morning. Thru this together in less than 5 minutes.

I liked this smoothie but think it’s a little sweet. If you’re not a fan of sweet smoothies, I would cut back on the banana. I added some romaine lettuce which was mild and didn’t alter the flavor at all and added more fiber and nutrients. The frozen cauliflower is a great way to sneak in more veggies.

Love the day 1 strawberry, banana smoothie. I did add chia, flax, and hemp seeds as well as a fig for sweetness and a prebiotic fiber and had this a meal replacement. Delicious!

Reminds me of strawberry ice cream!
Can’t eat banana so subbed 1/4 avocado. Used 1/2 cup greek yogurt for protein and 1/2 cup milk, and fresh cauliflower. Result was a thick creamy smoothie and a decadent breakfast treat.

Very good smoothie. I loved all the flavors. I did add a few cherries since I had them on hand. I will definitely make this smoothie again. I did not taste the cauliflower at all.

  6. I made it with 1 fresh banana and half a frozen banana and I only had vanilla unsweetened almond milk on hand. Consistency was good and you cannot taste the cauliflower. Easy ingredients to throw together and would definitely make again.

I enjoyed the strawberry and banana smoothie. I was impressed of how it good it taste as it is my first time adding cauliflower in my smoothie. I will definitely do it again.

Delicious and creamy- Vitamix made it the consistency of soft serve ice cream. I made it with oat milk and added vegan protein. What a treat!!

I am not a fan of strawberry-banana flavor to start with, and then cauliflower in my smoothie? I promised myself I would try the recipes as is before trying any tweaking, so that’s what I did this morning. And am I glad I did! I found that the ratio strawberry/banana was perfect to my taste and the creaminess of the texture really is just wow!

First let me say cauliflower is one of my least favorite foods – but you really cannot taste it in this smoothie, just the delicious strawberries.

  11. I didn’t notice the cauliflower at all. Think my strawberries weren’t tart because the banana was overpowering. But still tasty and I look forward to trying this in the summer
