Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this Strawberry Mango Smoothie was created by my very first SGS rawkstar team member, Dan Mottayaw.

That was 6 years ago, and now he’s got a little baby girl who will be gulping this smoothie down in a few more months, I’m sure! I mean, what’s not to love? Strawberries + mango is a fabulous combination.

Strawberries Have More Vitamin C Than Oranges

It’s true! Strawberries knock it out of the park in the vitamin C department. A diet rich in vitamin C will help keep your immune system in tip-top shape.

Strawberries are also low in sugar and high in fiber making them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush and keep your levels more stable.

Mango: The Best Tropical Fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mangoes. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. Juicy, sweet, chock full of vitamin A, fiber, and best eaten standing over the sink with juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie and it’s instantly got an island vibe going on. I like to buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s almost always cheaper than my local grocery store.

This smoothie is also known as “Pink Flamango”. Strawberry and mango are the perfect compliments to one another in this recipe.  Both are mildly sweet, and draw out the flavors of the other. Add some creamy almond milk to the mix and you get a smoothie worth blending over and over.

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup mango

  1. Place spinach and almond milk in blender.
  2. Puree until smooth.
  3. Add remaining fruit and blend again.

Use at least one frozen fruit to make the smoothie cold or serve over ice.

I have similar comments to another post, too thick, using frozen fruit.

Another enjoyable smoothie! This one was lightly sweet and refreshing, I enjoyed the mango and strawberries together, something new for me. I will definitely make again! While I used fresh frozen fruit, I blended for a while in my Vitamix to help it be less thick, which worked great.

Smoothie was good, however I think I would’ve liked it better without the almond milk. I think I’m going to stick with just water

I don’t like almond milk with my smoothies so I switched it up to coconut water. It was better then. Still to much fruit for me, but I did like this one much better than yesterdays

Day 2 smoothie was good however I am not the biggest fan of almond milk. Going to try with water instead next time

Absolutely loved this one. I froze the strawberries and mango overnight and had a delicious semi frozen delight. Been making the smoothies for a drink around 3:30 PM to help with afternoon slump.

So yummy! I added the alkaline cubes and turned it into 2 meals on the go by adding lots of chia seeds!!

Maybe I had strawberries without much flavor, but I found this one to be bland. I added flaxseed. Next time I’ll add either banana or some nut butter.

I’m out of the country and couldn’t get mango so I used a small banana instead. It was incredible!

Pink Flamingo was not our favorite, but it was okay. I drank all of it and wasn’t sorry I did. I think I will add more strawberries if I make it again in the future. I got the full cup, but I think it could’ve used some more.

This smoothie was enjoyable with the almond milk. I’m used to smoothies with base liquid of water so it was a nice creamy change.

Drinking Pink Flamingo I kept getting feathers in my teeth so I switched to flaMANGO.
I mixed water with the almond milk. It was ok
